I had purchased this camera to upgrade my current one, mainly for the 40X optical zoom. We have scheduled trips to Alaska and Australia this year (which may or may not happen), but I want to be ready. Our family went to the zoo and I finally got to try this camera. Setting it up was easy, very user friendly. The zoom came in handy for those exhibits that use plexiglass or other barriers in front, but have open sides. This made for unobstructed pics of the animals, while getting close ups. I look forward to more trips to utilize this camera. The cell phone camera has not made these types of cameras obsolete.

This is a single purpose camera for me so keep that in mind- but for that purpose it’s amazing! I use it for birding as an equivalent zoom length for my full frame Sony would be impossible/crazy expensive. For birding in good light I’m very impressed. The canon colors are beautiful and the stabilization definitely good- at least until you begin to hit digital zoom lengths. I wouldn’t buy this to take indoor pics of kids/family/pets as any iPhone past a 10 will do a better job with lower light close up situations.. but if you need crazy zoom this thing is a steal!

A decent amount of features for a pretty good price. Definitely get a tripod to get images in focus at maximum zoom. The Refurbished model is the way to go. No issues with it so far.

Easy to operate and fairly compact to carry with on trips. The quality of the photos is good, although I haven't had a lot of time to try out all the settings. Also, I haven't tried to hook up to wifi yet. Sharp close up photos and also good landscape photos(these I took at 4:30 in the evening).

Very happy with the camera. It was a gift for someone who loves to take close-up nature photos. The extended optical zoom has allowed shots she couldn't have gotten any other way. The exposure and sharpness are more than acceptable even when enlarged. Photos of the moon are well exposed and show the details of craters, etc without washing out or being too dark. The small smooth size allows it to be carried in a pocket so it's always at hand. The "good enough" photo you get beats the "perfect" photo you didn't because you didn't have the bigger pro camera with you. Construction is solid, features easy to use. A great value as Refurbished, looks and operates like new.

I bought this last year for our vacation in Alaska. The long distance pictures of wildlife that we took are unbelievable.

I was looking for a camera that was light, compact and could take close-ups as well as standard shots. The camera is good quality at a very good price.

Impossible to believe this is a refurbished camera. Not a scratch or sign of wear anywhere. It performs flawlessly. Resolution with 20 megapixels is outstanding. A pocket camera with 40X optical zoom and I caught it on the Deal of the Day for $150. What's not to love!!! The only thing that might disappoint some people is a fixed view screen that makes it difficult to take selfies. Delighted with my purchase. I've seen it one more time on Deal of the Day since I bought it so it may be worth the wait for another lower price.

Very happy so far but haven't used the camera much because of Covid and winter. Nothing about the camera makes me think that its a refurbished model as it appears to be brand new. Video and pictures are both clear and bright. Low light photos are very good. I'm pleased with my purchase.

Great 40x zoom. Able to fit in a pocket if needed. Many nice features and easy to use. Sturdy build, good grip. Recommend for a nice point and shoot camera. $150-$250 range for refurbished vs new when on sale.

Still learning. Some confusion about recharging the camera battery. There is a separate charger like a small black box with electric switch and all for recarging the battery. But I do not know whether I hve to takeout the battery each time from the camera for recharging. Where as most of the camera we can just recharge using the usb cable right away. This camera I am not sure whether I can do that way, because I see a separte box and charger. I tried to contact by email and by phone, but I did not get the answers from the canon company. So the recharging method is questionable for me.

Great camera - nothing but good things to say about this one. Came with the battery, battery charger, "Getting Started Guide" and strap. All I had to do was charge the battery and put in my old cameras SD card and I was ready to go. The Canon camera was even able to read the pictures I previously had on the SD card from my old camera! Even my old camera case was a good fit for the Canon camera. My old camera was a HP PhotoSmart M415. This was a very good upgrade, indeed.

I purchased this camera due to its zooming ability at 40X. I was surprised that a point-and-shot camera could do such a good job. The pictures were stunningly clear even at zooming in. The video and sound qualities were also impressive. Overall, I love it and would recommend it to my friends!

The color looks amazing and the quality when I played around with it is great. I haven't examined it too much yet because it is a Christmas present for my daughter. But she loves taking pictures and with the SD card that I purchased, I know she will love it. I highly recommend this camera.
