I had been researching these diagnostic tools for several months, but it was on a long vacation car trip that solidified my need to purchase. We have a Chrysler Town & Country minivan with 280,000 miles and the check engine light came on. We located the nearest Best Buy and picked up an automatic to tell us what the light meant. Fortunately it was a non critical issue that we could safely wait to address. This saved us a ton of time, and allowed us to continue enjoying our vacation. The mileage and trip data is also a huge plus!

It does what I ask it to do. No issues with how it performs

As soon as I got in my car, I knew how to install. Very easy and it also told me whatever is wrong with my car. I love the way it tells me how many miles I have until empty.

Purchsed this item after trying out a similar OBDII reader utilizing DASH android app. Had issues with other OBDII reader---causing all sorts of faults being displayed. This device on the other hand has worked without errors. Provides feedback if you accelerate or brake too hard. Provides statistics at conclusion of trips. Bonus, able to contact emergency services in the event of an accident. If you have multiple vehicles, I recommend purchasing more than one of these readers, since each reader is dedicated to a vehicle. So if you move it from vehicle to another, you will need set it up for that vehicle.

Haven't had to use this for the emergency calling feature yet, but it does everything I need it to. If anything I'd ask for it to support two drivers better as it only works well for one. It should sync back to the car in the cloud and let two drivers share, but the logging is per phone per car rather than per car.

I am a serious nerd and LOVE almost all electronics, and this gadget was sure to win a spot in my Maxima. I proceeded to read everything and followed the instructions to the T! So prior to this adapter I was using a generic bluetooth adapter to check my engine lights, etc. and now with this taking the place of that $10 ebay special, I would much rather throw this one in the trash and plug in my old one that actually worked. If you like to pay to be a beta tester, than go grab this overpriced adapter that probably will end up giving you all sorts of problems... Good luck!

I have used other monitoring systems for my cars, but this is by far one the easiest and most useful devices I have owned. This should be in ever car out there!!

I've had this for a month. Took one longer trip 100+ miles. mostly short trips around town. Lots of interesting data. Used it to do a travel report for reimbursement (printed trip from website). Does an ok job of "good" driver but I've never been below 96 (of 100), so it can't help me improve.

It's nice to have a coach in the car. I purchased this when it was on sale for $69.99 but have been looking at this for a long time. I also have this integrated with the Amazon Echo. Oh, and have you ever forgotten where you've parked your car. The Automatic app can help you with that.

Easy setup and use. App is very user friendly and provides weekly updates. Works better than the slightly more expensive competitors

I use this device to track my business trips. There are 3rd party apps that work well with it too. I am happy with my purchase.

I like this unit alot. I am a uber driver and now i do not have to worry about counting milage. Does it all for me. :)

With IFTTT integration and the app itself makes it very useful if you like knowing what your car is doing and where it is when you need to find it... Useful data includes gas usage, distance traveled, engine codes, and trip data on their website.

I currently own the first generation of Automatic and was surprised and delighted about it's features. So, my expectations to use the second generation were high. However, I didn't find anything different from the two. Sure, it was faster at connecting with my Bluetooth but there really wasn't anything new that made the purchase worthwhile. I would definitely hold off on purchasing until there are some drastic changes from the first generation.

I bought this in order to compare it to zubie, but this was not really user friendly. LOVED the free reusable cup but wasn't able to connect quick enough nor manage my vehicles.

Present for the hubby who spends a lot of time looking at the fault codes that pop up - now its easier !

Everyone should try one really neat good to scan your vehicles check engine light.

It does well except for the fact that every once in a while the GPS skips around a bit when it comes to tracking the car's positions
