The filter is way too small for a 6 cup pot. takes long enough for the coffee to cool off

Not going to make life easier or the coffee taste better but is a useful alternative. Heat and coffee grounds are all you need.

I wanted something that would be quick and easy in the morning. I should have stuck with the French Press.
Totally my fault for not knowing the cold Press is suuuper slow.

Pros: the pour-over coffee maker looks great on the counter. It is stable and easy to use.
Cons: the wooden coaster was painted with odd brushstrokes, making it look as if there was a production mistake

I had to get this because of how beautiful the design is. And it does look really nice on my counter. Too bad all it's good for is the way it looks. This thing is non functional. The mesh strainer *should* work in theory, but the coffee grounds get totally clogged up and after the first couple of seconds of some drip happening, everything just comes to a halt. Completely useless. I've tried different grind sizes with the same results each time and have now gone back to using my french press. I'm considering drilling a tiny hole at the bottom of the strainer to mimic the design of a functional pourover dripper. Lame

It comes with a very fine mesh filter cone that is intended to hold filters, to which you add the coffee and water. In practice, if you use the provided filters the flow completely stops shortly after you pour. We tried to remove the filters and see how the mesh cone performed as a stand-alone filter, but then the water just pours straight through and doesn't sit with the grounds for any length of time; it produces slightly brown, slightly coffee-flavored water.
We ended up using our old plastic pour-over cone to make the coffee and just using the carafe.
The carafe itself and the bamboo trivet is nice.
