Casper (voiced by Malachi Pearson) is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey (Bill Pullman) arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat (Christina Ricci). Casper quickly falls in love with Kat, but their budding relationship is complicated not only by his transparent state, but also by his troublemaking apparition uncles and their mischievous antics.

Classic! Love this film and happy to add it to our collection.

I really enjoy this DVD set! I enjoy the vintage cartoons included on the bonus disc! This includes 3 Casper movies too.

The Blu-ray Steelbook packaging is really nice. However, the Blu-ray movie disc is a carry over from the previous release. Too bad that Casper was not remastered to a 4K Blu-ray. The sorta good news is that a second disc of extra features, which unfortunately is a DVD, includes two feature-length films and several animated shorts. The deciding factor for a double-dip purchase was a very reasonable low price for a Steelbook!

Beautiful steelbook for the movie version of the ghostly cartoon. Great artwork throughout the steelbook. I would have liked this release to get the 4K treatment, however. I think a black 4K disc and the Blu-ray with some Casper artwork on the actual disc would have been superb. Still, a fun movie to sit and watch with the kiddos at Halloween or anytime they feel spooky enough to see the friendly ghost. Recommended.

This live action version of our favorite friendly ghost will entertain both the kids and adults. ThisBlu-ray version is a step up from the previous DVD editions. The crisp quality and rich colors pop out in HD and the black levels are really good, at least on our Projector. Audio is in surround sound and seems much improved as well from the DVD version. Extras include commentary, deleted scenes and a couple of cartoon features. The story follows a widowed Ghost Hunter and his daughter who are hired to rid a run down property of ghosts so the owner can develop it for profit. What they find is not only Casper but three of his obnoxious mates determine to keep the fleshies from taking residence in their home. Highly recommended.

The film itself and the quality is great, but I have to give this four stars for the horrible shipping that caused my steelbook to have a dent in it. It was never available in store, so I had no way of knowing how bad it would be till I'd get it. This was my second purchase of it. I decided to just keep it and deal with the dent than returning it yet again. Great film, quality, and steelbook design. But bad shipping.

I loved this movie growing up and it's nice to have on dvd. A true classic 90's movie.

Just a wonderful played out movie for an old cartoon

This new steelbook release is a nice way to get the original Casper movie, it's TV sequel "A Spirited Beginning" along with some other cartoons in an affordable set to minimize space. Plus the artwork is pretty nice resembling the original cover art. The only downside is the exclusion of "Casper Meets Wendy" which would have added more to this set! Great quality and a must have for fans!

A super adaptation of a childhood favorite. It took me back to my youth, watching Casper in cartoons...

This is a wholesome story of a boy who became ill and died much too young. He falls in love with a young 'live' girl who moves into the abandoned mansion with her father (a believer in the possibility of reaching into the beyond and speaking to the spirits). The three pesky ghosts add humor (guests can be so bothersome, especially if they're dead). Throw in a little greed for tension and it's a wonderful, entertaining plot for all ages. The scene between Casper and his mother will bring tears...but I loved it.

Admittedly, I bought this for a Rodney Dangerfield cameo that lasted 6 seconds! However, I was pleasantly surprised that this film has plenty of laughs. Father Guido Sarducci (Don Novello) and Dan Akyroid have brief but funny bits.So do Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood. Eric Idle has a fair sized role and he is always fun to watch. I was not prepared to like this as much as I did. Granted, it's a kids film, but I found myself enjoying it a lot. Recommended.

My son and I enjoyed the movie. It was quite silly at times, but we are dealing with Casper, the Friendly Ghost so it was expected.
