Awesome game and even more awesome is that the copy I received was the launch edition that includes the limited edition sheep keychain! I am a nintendo collector so to receive the special edition at such a late date was great! But I must warn others that I tried to order another copy of the game like a week later and I recieved the standard copy that does not include the keychain. So your results may very. Still an awesome game even if you don’t receive the limited edition keychain.

I have never heard of this game and gave it a try. Great puzzles, has a good storyline to it as well. Did not expect this as the game.

I played the og and love the addition of Rin, and I prefer Rin to the other love interests. If you’re new to Catherine, it’s so much fun. The puzzles are equal parts challenging and engaging, the characters are all very interesting, the story is wild but easy to follow, and imo it has great replay value. I usually finish a game and that’s that, but with this I wanted to see what happened if I did different things. So yeah, definitely worth the purchase! Although the Switch joysticks are soooo sensitive for the puzzles which is a major flaw since a slight movement can mess up a puzzle pretty easily. I’d get it for Playstation unless you really want to play it portably.

    Good Game for the Switch

This is a Visual Novel with gameplay elements. Most of the story consists of dialogue with characters and the occasional choices with the gameplay consisting of climbing the tower. You might think the game feels like playing Persona 5 and you are right because this is from the same publisher, but do not expect it to be similar. If you love anime and VN, this should be fine. If not or aren't sure i would suggest waiting for a sale. I went in blind and while not mind blowing, i did enjoy the side characters more than i thought and got much used to the tower gameplay, in which you might suck at first but will get decent with enough practice. Oh and you can skip the gameplay entirely, if you want, and you also get the full option of English or Japanese voices. Also, there is a nice keychain in the case but i don't know if all copies have one. I recommend the game for what it is in my first sentence.

Loved the original game, puzzles are fun and the narrative gets me to keep playing. This version has some nice quality of life additions, you can play it in portable mode, and there are some interesting story additions. Easy choice if you liked the original and want more.

This game will always hold a special place in my heart. I played the original back on ps3 and it's safe to say that this is the definitive version. The extra character Rin felt like she's been in the game forever. Love the gameplay, love the story. Alot of people will probably be interested in this game after Persona 5 blowing up, and this definitely will scratch that persona itch. But this game on switch and show Atlus that we want more switch releases! (Persona please)

    Unique mash-up

I remember learning about Catherine when it first came out on the PS3 and thought it looked really neat. I never got to play it though since I only had Nintendo consoles, so I was excited to hear a complete edition was coming to the Switch. Catherine is a unique mash-up that is part visual novel and part puzzle game involving a guy named Vincent and his relationship with 3 different love interests, all who have the same name! You make the decisions that determine who he ends up with based on your choices during the day and in the nightmare puzzle levels at night. If you read any more about the game be sure to avoid story spoilers, as there are a lot of twists and turns! The graphics, voice acting/sound, and presentation are terrific. The puzzle levels are fun but can be very hard. Thankfully you can adjust the difficulty at any time, but as I replayed the game to get different endings (there are over a dozen) I enjoyed the day-time parts more and just set the night-time puzzles to auto-complete. It is a very adult-themed game, so be mindful of that. Still highly recommended if it sounds interesting to you and/or you like anime style games like I do.

Not my kind of game. Story was not for me and the puzzles were ok but not enough to want me to play again after beating the game once. Did not like the change of cutscene/art style from anime to video game.

I love this game. When it first released back on the PS3 and 360 I really enjoyed this game and it honestly blew me away. Huge puzzle fan and I love the puzzle battling that happens in this game. It’s got a funny story, fun characters and the gameplay is great. It’s a bit mature story wise with language and imagery but really suggest this for any teen whose is into Atlus Games, Anime or even puzzles. Great port on the switch, nice to have added features and content. Deff a great time, if you feel put off by how the cover looks you should still give it a shot.

The topic and the theme of this game are more on the mature side, such as marriage, life choices, and other aspects in life. My choices in the game can affect the outcome of the story. From what I know, this game has 13 endings, and I have managed to get 4 different endings so far. Besides the story, I really like playing the puzzles in the game. The puzzle's difficulty between the easy and normal mode has a huge difference. When I played in the normal mode, it took a lot of trial and error to figure out the path to the end. I think it has a lot of replay value.

This game is phenomenal. Total throwback vibes to the early to mid 2000s. I didn’t know anything about this game but now that I finished playing through, I love it. I suck at games but I try really hard. This one has a built in function to help if you find the puzzles challenging. The game play itself and the story is challenging and hard at time or certain levels or modes but the overarching story kept me hooked.

Not much I can say that hasn’t already been said about this fascinating game, but it’s a very interesting look on the moral choices adults have to make in relationships and the story revolving them are great. Characters are pretty quirky and cool to watch interact. The puzzle gameplay is also very fun imo, doesn’t get old during the course of it. If you want a cozy, adult oriented, story driven game, this is well worth it’s price.

Played the original Catherine on the ps3 and the remaster On the PS4. Having it on the switch taking it everywhere I go it’s a game that’s not for everybody but it’s worth a try, it’s not like the persona series but has little elements like the game with cool soundtracks from the persona series. What I love about the game is the puzzle and story that will get you hooked. And comes with a free keychain inside no preorder BS you have to worry for the price it’s worth getting.

I enjoyed my play-through of this game. The story is intriguing and the puzzles are fun and rewarding. The graphics feel a bit dated and controls are not perfect but overall I recommend it to anime and puzzle game lovers.
