I am very pleased with the Channelmaster DVR. It was very easy to get started & set up. The quality of the recorded programs is great. I haven't recorded much material yet, but it is very easy to record from the guide. Even though it is a bit pricey, I definitely would recommend this product to others.

Shortly after TV went digital I purchased an LG DVR. 2 months after its warranty expired it quit working. I was hesitant to purchase another DVR until I found and read about the Channel Master. I am not very tech savvy but was able to set up this unit without any difficulty. It is very simple to operate and provides many useful features. The program guide is really nice, just like having cable or a dish. I have been exceedingly pleased with this unit.

I purchased this to replace the TiVo DVR that died during a lightning storm. This DVR is more solid than later TiVo models, plus it can be used without a monthly service subscription. It is super thin and looks sleek on a TV cabinet, yet it packs hours of recording capabilities and is as full-fledged as any other DVR. The interface is simple to use and while not quite as amusing as TiVo's, it still gets the job done. Periodic software updates extend the functionality of the DVR. I've had a few minor quirks with the software and an occasional issue with the Rovi guide, but the overall reliability and picture quality surpsasses other DVR's on the market for antenna users. It is an excellent choice and while an up-front investment, pays for itself in no time in no longer having expenvie monthly TV bills.

I have been wanting to give up cable tv for a long time.. Extremely happy with my new dvr. I can tape any shows on tv. Internet connection so now I have netflix for movies and other tv shows. Works great, clear picture. My cost is now 8.99 a month for Netflix. There is about 50 free stations in phoenix.

After cutting the cord, we still missed the ability to record and playback shows easily. The Channel Master is the only commercially available DVR that connects to an over the air antenna and offers an easy to use record and playback feature. I tried other DVRs but they were all glorified streaming services, and required you to have smart TVs and high spped Wifi in every room of the house. The Channel Master only requires a Digital Antenna to work, and internet access is only required to receive channel guide updates, but it is not a required function. You can still stream through the Channel Master if you want to, it offers plenty of options. The only downside is that it runs hot, so put a laptop cooling fan underneath it, and make sure it is in an area that gets plenty of airflow.

This is the one for cutting the cable...looks so good on paper, but it just doesn't work out. I have a 4k TV and really wanted this to take advantage of that bright, clear, off-the-air image that I get on my TV...didn't work. Here's the order of broadcast image quality: Off-the-air with TV's built-in receiver (best quality...wow!) Cable HD (still pretty awesome) Live show through channel master receiver (muddy) Recorded show on channel master receiver (yuck and yuck). Took it back and bought a TIVO Bolt. Excellent picture quality in all modes...but its a Tivo. At least the menuing system is significantly improved from earlier versions...now if it just had built-in Sling channel so I could get ESPN and HDTV.

Able to cut the cable cord. Dvr & antenna working great.

Best item to purchase if you are cutting the cord on the cable companies. This along with sling TV works for me...

worked like they said it would. what to get rid of cable but not dvr. it is a good product

After stopping my cable service I wanted to be able to pause and jump forward ,this works.

I have been very pleased at how well the Channel Master DVR works. The remote control is very intuitive and the way the DVR interfaces with the internet is great, providing many more channels in addition to what I get with the Mohu Leaf 50 antenna, which also works great. The TV Guide with the DVR and internet connection is just like cable and having the ability to pause and rewind shows while watching them is great. I wish I had bought this DVR years ago and saved a fortune on cable TV bills.

I am very pleased with my Channel Master. Previously, I had a DVR through a cable company which worked fine but I was paying close to $100/month for TV. Now I use an antenna and get to record and watch the programs just like before but at $0.00/month!
