You just have to leave it in for a lot longer than you expect. I got it as a deal-of-the-day for half off, I will keep it but I would not suggest it for others.

Only worked once

Made waffles once but the heating element would not head up between waffles the next time. We could not get the waffle iron to heat up again to sufficient temperature to cook the waffles after that.

Waffles = Delicious

I like me some good old fashioned waffles, with the little squares. This does that - kinda. They are still a little big, but much better than all of the belgium waffle makers. It is nice that it has a ceramic coating to make cleanup a snap. I say for $30 it is a good buy, one drawback is that it doesn't have thermometer to control the temp.
