Overly Designed Gameplay, ..but still decent.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The gameplay and graphics are top notch. However I have 2 gripes w/ this game which I think are a result of the developers "over-designing" the gameplay. 1) When you checkmate the computer it calls the game a "stalemate" and does not call it a "win". I find this annoying. However your game rating does go up. 2) Starting and stopping a new game is a little confusing when playing the computer. You are presented w/ choices to rewind, stop, and pause gameplay but not to "start a new game" ...you have to go back to the main menu where it isn't clear how to start a new game. The UX is a bit counter-intuitive. 3) I'd like to be able to pan around the game board, the pan feature is very limited, it is a bit difficult to see the pieces from every angle ...some of the more decorative pieces I need to see from other angles to understand what game piece it is.
