Good little streaming device but YouTube sound often lags and 4K quality isn't quite there on some apps. The worst part is there is no easy way to switch Google accounts on YouTube, YouTube TV or YouTube Music. The remote is responsible, super easy setup, Assistant is great as usual, the remote can control your soundbar or TV volume and that setup is also very easy. Overall, it's a good device

I got two of these for my den and guest room, set up was super easy and I'm surprised at how much it has to offer, one of the best streaming platforms I've had beside the shield, and it comes close to that.

This is a great device if you like Google stuff and a Chromecast that you have a remote. Be advised not to put too many apps on it says there’s only 4 GB of storage so try to Chromecast most of your stuff and then you can use the remote. So lemon yourself or actual apps that are added to the device because the memory will get filled quickly.

My household has been a Roku house since we cancelled our Dish several years ago, but when Roku was having their dispute for HBO Max, we bought this Chromecast for one of the TVs in the house so we could watch HBO Max content. Being used to the Roku, I will say the Chromecast is different to use, though not in any good or bad way. It's just different. While the user experience is good, it's not going to make me replace the other Rokus in my house with a Chromecast. I do like the simple remote. I also like that the TV can be turned on/off and volume controlled with the Chromecast remote. That's something Roku lacks. I like the different layout of the apps on-screen and I like that shows we frequently watch show on the home screen with the current episode ready to be watched. I don't like that the YouTube app on Chromecast doesn't allow multiple users to be signed in so that profiles can be easily switched. If another user wants to login, the current user has to logout, making for a more inconvenient process. It's not a big deal since not much YouTube is watched in the room that the Chromecast is in. Overall, it's a good streaming device, but it won't turn the rest of the house away from the Roku.

One of the best streaming devices for your TV. Its great for watching any streaming service, and also to stream videogames from the cloud or a computer (like a ShieldTV), its fast and responsive. The only complain I could have is that you can´t have multiple accounts and change between all of them. Apart from that, this device is awesome and has a good price.

Love my new chromecast. I had an old one where you could only use your phone to cast and had to count on your phone being charged to watch tv. This new one is so much better with the remote. It works great and super easy to use. Need to download the app to set up. I bought at night from Best Buy online and received the next morning. Super fast delivery!

I have an old Vizio tv in the living room with no smart functionality and with this dongle I am finally able to not only cast things to it but get full apps and use them with ease. I primarily use Plex and YouTube and this device handles it perfectly. The price was perfect too.

A must-have for anyone who's embedded in the Google ecosystem and/or wants a simple and intuitive way to get to content. The simple navigation plus class-leading voice controls with Google Assistant set this apart. Additionally, it being a chromecast means you can cast any Cast-compatible app, even if you don't have it installed on your TV.

Chromecast with Google TV overall is fantastic. Simple to setup and connect to all streaming services I subscribe to. Browsing all streaming services is extremely easy as shows/movies all show w/o having to open each service. Additionally, I can use the Android TV app on my iPhone as a remote. The major issue I have with GoogleTV is the lack of an iOS app to couple with the GoogleTV service. Hopefully there is something in development

The remote is a little small for my hands is about the only complaint. This is a huge upgrade from the old chromecast devices. The voice activation google assistant will find the show you're looking for quickly across multiple platforms. You have a row dedicated to show you have not finished yet so you can find them quickly and much more.

This is one of the best streaming device out on the market. Navigating it is very fast and smooth. I like the user interface and the Google “For You” recommendation. My only disappointment is the storage. You can add additional storage, but will need an usb c adapter and a memory card or stick. I’m very happy with this purchase, will be buying a second one.

The best Chromecast I've ever used. I've been using Chromecasts since the first generation of them. This is easy to use, has features I've always wanted, and works great on a 4k television. However, the main reason I bought this was to stream my Oculus Quest 2 headset to a tv so my roommates could watch what I was doing in VR. It works perfectly.

New model coming? Good device - some shortfalls

If you're reading this, don't buy this version because a new one is expected to come out this year. However, my review of this device as it stands is 4 stars. Positives - Excellent price - The UI gives you a feed of content you may like, from multiple streaming services - Live TV included - Google assistant is helpful (better than Roku) - Speak shows and passwords instead of typing them - Multiple user profiles (unlike Roku) - Some people may find the UI a bit messy. I find it helpful because I don't always need to open an app to find what I want to watch. Less jumping in and out of apps. Negatives - Sometimes a bit slower loading things (it's getting old and new model is expected this year 2024) - The UI is not as snappy and smooth as a $100 Roku or Apple TV

Wonderful breath of all streaming services. Annoying that I cannot use my TV's USB port to power it. The picture and sound are not as good as my Apple TV 4K, but the cost for this device is way lower and very good. Certainly better user interface than my TV's OS, and if you have a Google Nest speaker, you can set this up for some degree of voice commands. I would recommend.

Really was kind of skeptical at first because I had a regular chromecast and wasn’t too happy with the whole “have to download the apps and sync with the phone” thing but this one has the remote and I love how I can access all of my shows, apps, and everything from one screen. It’s very useful and easy to set up and use. Wasn’t disappointed at all.

Purchased this because I have YouTube TV and my Roku Ultra still lacks the HBO Max app so I thought I'd give it a try. I really like the Chromecast with Google TV. It's great for YouTube TV because the Live Guide has more info than the guide in the YouTube TV app which is weird. I like that it gives suggestions from my Hulu, Netflix and HBO Max streaming accounts and you can go directly to the program rather than through the app, thus saving time. Picture quality has been good. It even gives me suggestions for programs that are on my YouTube TV DVR and YouTube videos. My only complaints would be that there is no wired connection option as with the Roku Ultra but I have not had any buffering issues. Also, the remote feels really light compared to the Roku remote which is heavier and just feels more substantial in your hand. It also takes a few seconds to wakeup if the TV has been off for a bit. The Roku Ultra seems a tiny bit faster getting to the main menu, but then you have to enter the app you want to watch so in the end I think the Chromecast is faster but I have not actually sat there with a watch and timed it. Setup was easy. Casting is easy. I'd buy another if there are any Black Friday deals this year.

For my use, the best balance between Fire TV, Roku and Google services. Nice front end with remote so you can use it like a Roku, but also super convenient to Chromecast from my phone. Plus, I can control my TV using Google Assistant much more seamlessly than connecting to LG's service etc. Easy setup out of the box too. Good bang for the buck.

Best way to stream and enjoy your favorite movies, TV shows and music from any provider. It runs Google TV which is fast and easy to use. The included remote can also control your TV volume and, if you have a smart home, your smart devices with the dedicated Google Assistant button. Very satisfied with this product
