So far I am loving my new therapy lamp. It is super easy to setup and super easy to use.
The lamp comes in a very low profile box and it is hard to believe a lamp is inside. You take it out, unfold it and place a base onto it. It then stands on a desk much like any other folding adjustable lamp. You plug in the power cord to the back and you are ready to go.
You push a touch sensor button to turn it on and push again for up to 3 brightness settings. I keep it next to my laptop when I am working at my desk and it provides perfect illumination on the lowest setting. The highest setting is very bright and will actually provide excellent illumination when working on something in great detail where you need a lot of light.
It is very sleek and looks modern when working at a desk. A desk should have a modern look in my opinion considering you will likely have a computer and other tech devices, so the lamp should be no different.
As far as therapy goes, I can easily see how this works. It provides a pleasant glow that is different from a typical lamp or light. it is a nice soft glow that just feels nice while you are near it. I actually feel calm while I am working under it. In fact I am calm as I use it while writing this review. You will have to use it to see what I am talking about.
I highly recommend this lamp if you want to have a nice looking modern lamp that provides plenty illumination with a calming effect.

Literally Brighten Your Day

--- Installation---
This lamp is easy to install. It includes a base that can be connected at the bottom allowing it to stand on its own. From there, plug in the included power adapter, remove the transparent protective film, and you’re set.
--- FEATURES ---
This lamp is meant to mimic daylight. It is slim, easy to store, and adjustable. It doesn’t occupy a lot of desk space and has 3 dimmable options.
--- PERFORMANCE ---
The lamp is bright! The three dimmable options start with the brightest, then it lessens with each button press. However, even the dimmest option is really bright, especially if the lamp is angled in a way where you can see the light directly (not recommended). It will literally brighten your day when in use. The purpose of the light is to make you feel more alert by mimicking daylight. To that extent, it works...somewhat.
--- EXPECTATIONS ---
I installed this lamp in an area of our home where there is no outside light. Compared to the other lights in the room, it is definitely the brightest. However, the disparity between this light and the other lights create an uneven experience and can be disorienting to use. Though one of the features of this light is its convenience in size, it also prevents it from fulfilling the light needed on it’s own for my entire workspace, which is a corner desk with 3 computer monitors. I can be moving the light to focus on what I need to focus on, but that means spending time adjusting the light as needed. In terms of alertness, I did feel a bit more alert while using the lamp, but only for a small burst of time. Eventually, my tired body gives in no matter how bright the light is.
--- VALUE ---
For the price, the lamp doesn’t take much space and it is very bright.
--- APPROVAL ---
I recommend this lamp for people who know they will have one specific focused area where they will be working (taking notes / doing homework) but if you use a lot of desk space, you might need more than one.

This light has been effective for me to have on my work desk while I'm working from home. Gloomy weather or locations that just don't get a lot of sunshine can have a negative effect on your daily mood and health. The LUMOS light is very bright and has 3 settings to select from for brightness. It's a rotating light that can be folded up or down to help your current situation and space.
Full spectrum, bright light, white light and UV free. It has the the ability to reach 10,000 LUX brightness and will help to wake you up, boost mood, improve focus. The light assists your body's natural circadian rhythm to boost your overall wellness. The light weighs under 2 pounds, has a slim profile, and is corded into a standard wall plug.
Invest in yourself and your health with this light. Works well as a multi purpose light as a desk light, but also as a therapy light at the same time.

You may think I'm kidding, but as I sit here and write this review, I am so at ease. The light from this lamp is so soothing. i didn't think it was possible to put me in a state of calm while I work and read. It's a lamp, for Pete's sake. butnope. All is well. The different settings, much like what you'd get from ring lights, allow you to set it for the room's lighting. that way you won't strain your eyes. It's very important when you work in from of a computer screen all day. Trust me. it's lighweight ao you can literally carry it everywhere you go. Business trips, vacation or even to the office and back home. i don't want to open another book or laptop, without htis thing with me. And to cap the fact that it's only $50 smackers, I'm thinking of gifting a couple of these. I know. I'm as stunned as you. Hmm! A theropy lamp. that's really a thing.

An excellent aid for shift workers!

I am a shift worker, and as such the regularity of my sleep/wake cycle is vital to my success and general quality of life. I wake up at 4:30am most mornings. Where I live in Oregon, there is no light to be had at that time of day and thus I generally have felt sluggish and poorly motivated upon waking. Compounding this, I have struggled my entire life with seasonal affective disorder that highly exacerbates my underlying depression diagnosis. My mornings are often where my misery and borderline-catatonia manifest the most.
This lamp has changed that.
I have been using this for just under a week now. I have done 30-minute sessions each morning at my desk where I like to journal and do my daily devotions before work. I have placed this thin and unobtrusive lamp to the side of me on its medium setting during these sessions. It is my subjective point of view, but I have had FAR better days as far as energy and wakefulness go thanks to this lamp.
This lamp requires an AC plug in, has a generously long cord, and has multiple ways it can be setup with or without the included stand. The size of this lamp is really nice compared to some models I was looking at and I feel this is going to pack really well when I go on trips. The lamp is hefty when you pick it up and that absolutely evokes the feeling that you are holding a quality item. The only thing I would have liked included with this lamp would be a carrying case, like a softshell zippered variety or even just a drawstring bag as this is touted as being portable.
Altogether, I think this lamp is a great purchase if you are looking for a “mood lamp” to assist you in circadian rhythm regulation. For the psychological benefits, make sure you consult your primary care provider or a licensed therapist as this should not be used to outright replace your normal mental health medications or routines. It certainly can be part of a supplemental program for good sleep and good wakefulness in my opinion! Thanks for reading and I hope this inspires you to get out there and take control of your sleep cycle!

When I got this, I was excited thinking it was a great choice for light deprivation issues that I do have in the winter. But it is summer, so I'm not really having that now. However I will tell you that this helps with feeling better, even in the summer. I love the amount of light this puts out, plus it has three levels of light from super bright, to a moderate, and much dimmer level. Really smart, not just super bright in case your room or existing lighting dictates the need.
The instructions talk about how to use this, and how much time to use it in a given period, instructions that make sense and are well written.
But this can also be used as a task specific light, because the amount of light it puts out is so bright. And if I did my math right, it's about 18 watts of energy used. Totally worth it. As I get older, light is more important because it seems that with bad vision light really helps. While it isn't mentioned for this purpose, it works great for it!
Also, this is very important, it comes with a stand attachment, so you can use it as a desk stand. Then, the base articulates, and it stands up by itself. And you can adjust the head of the light to help get the direction you want. This is very adjustable.

Light therapy, Task light, AND Web cam light!

I love to pull open the curtains and blinds first thing when I get up in the morning. Unfortunately, my significant other does not. So this lamp has been a great way to come downstairs and get some instant “sunlight” to help me jump start my day.
I haven’t been using it for just strictly “light therapy” either. First thing in the AM, I turn it on and quietly check my messages from the day before and plan my day. But I have also started switching around the lamp’s arm orientation and using it all day as a task light.
And because of the flexibility of the lamp’s neck, I can position it towards me to provide better lighting for my face during the now constant Zoom meetings that require my PC camera to be turned on.
I will use it more in the winter months I’m sure, and I wish I had something like this when I lived in the northeastern US and it seemed like winter would never end.

Well… I had to read a little on Circadian lights. I totally didn’t believe this and sure I’m still hesitant but I’ve had it in my office this week.
I’m reflecting now and honestly the first thing I do is walk it, tap the power button and power the light on in my office.
It’s actually been a subtle help and I can feel that I’m more focused, purposeful, and a little more cheerful than normal.
I’m not a drag or boring but looking back this week I have felt even more productive and attentive to what people need from me at work.
This might be the easiest product I’ve ever set up and I love how easy it collapses into a small bar to store it.
If you don’t have one go get this light. I hope it’s as helpful to you as it has been for me.

Refreshing light

My girlfriend works at the computer for multiple hours a day and sometimes the area doesn’t have the best natural light. Since she prefers an all-in-one computer instead of a laptop, she’s stuck at a desk. This light has been a refreshing addition to our home office. This is our first experience with light therapy, though I’ve seen them for night time, I’ve never seen one for daytime. The adjustability of the light makes it easy to get light where its most beneficial to you and the small lightweight design makes it easy to move or travel with. As someone who can suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) this light is a welcome addition.

I was down to sleeping only 2 hrs at a time. Wake up for about 2 hrs then if I was lucky might be able to get another 2 hrs before the sun came up. After using my light a few times I was able to sleep 3 hrs. I actually have been sleeping 4 hrs in a row without waking up. If I do wake up for the bathroom, find I can go right back to sleep! That didn't used to happen. This thing really seems to be working! So nice to finally be able to sleep!

I've been diagnosed with light sensitivity so have tried various devices in the past. They all "work" to some degree but not enough for me to rely on them, particularly during seasonal changes which affect light. I believe I found the exception. First, it is ready to go right out of the box. Second, the instruction manual is wonder as it explains what light therapy does and also points out that people are different and how to find what is the right settings for you. Most I already knew but this also taught me some things I didn't. There are three light settings and the amount of light does make a difference. I find that I do best with two sessions, one in the morning and one when I get home from work. When I do the afternoon session I don't feel the need to take a nap anymore but rather can stay awake until bedtime. That leads to bedtime. Due to not taking that nap, I'm now tired at a reasonable time and it isn't taking me an hour or more to fall asleep. I also find I sleep longer so am really getting rest. The morning session helps wake me up and, while nothing will make me a morning person, I find after the session I do have more energy to get the day started. While the real test for me will be the Autumn time, even this week, with the lack of sun due to rain, I find that I'm responding with more energy and less depression than would be expected from past experience. It will take a bit of trial and error to determine the best light density in certain situations but, for once, I'm optimistic that I have found a solution to the devastating effects of light sensitivity.

Bright lamp in a slim size.

The Circadian Optics Lumos Light Therapy Lamp is a very bright lamp for its compact size.
The lamp has 3 different brightness settings, each providing a different level of brightness. The lamp comes with an AC power cord and a small detachable stand. The stand doesn’t really provide much, other than a fancier look. The lamp is very slim, allowing it to be stored on a desk without taking up that much space. On the base of the lamp, it has a hinge that allows it to be rotated in any direction. On the light panel, the light can be rotated a full 180 degrees.
The purpose of the lamp, other than providing light, is to provide you with the right kind of light. Doing so will set your internal clock to get the right amount of energy when needed, as well as sets your internal clock to be able to sleep when need. I’ve been using this for about a week and so far, I haven’t noticed any increase in energy. But I will say that the light is very bright and works really well. I do like the 3 different dimming options, as it fills up my area with plenty of light which in turn helps my eyes from straining, saving me a headache.
Overall, I think this is a really good lamp. Its sleek design allows it to be stored on my desk without taking up that much room. The lamp provided a really good amount of light saving my eyes from eyestrain. I love how you can adjust and rotate it, there are plenty of different motion options. This is definitely a good lamp for me and I recommend it to anyone looking for a bright lamp with limited space.

Circadian optics light therapy is amazing! Has been a life savor with the slick style light weight doesn’t not take any room up on my desk, I work at home 8+ hours non stop on the computer I started finding that the lights in the house weren’t bright enough I tried putting a regular lamp next to my desk but didn’t help, then light therapy came into my life it comes with a mount so you can install it where ever you want, you can adjust the angle t where you want the light to shine & has 3 brightness setting I feel all 3 are just right for whatever mood of light you feel like having, I feel like I’m more alert having the light shining on my keyboard it not so gloomy making me sleepy while working. I recommend anyone who wants to light up your space without taking up tons of space, it folds in half basically also which I liked

I work in an office without any windows and I thought I would give this lamp a try to see if it helped improve my mood, sleep, and afternoon tiredness. At the end of my two week test, I can not say for certain that I have had dramatically noticeable improvements, but I think with some more adjustments to my scheduled usage, it is very possible.
Overall the lamp is slim with a sleek design. It doesn't take up much desk space and it is small enough to take when traveling. I like the mobility of the lamp, so you can position it perfectly for you. The light is very bright, and can be adjusted to three different settings via the power button. The first time I used the lamp, I didn't realize that the brightness setting was controlled by the power button and I used it at its full brightness level. To my surprise, I actually started to feel a bit nauseous with the lamp on its highest setting. Afterwards, I only used it at the lower and lowest settings without any problems. From my immediate reaction to using this light, I would say that it does seem to be the real deal, but figuring out the best schedule and brightness settings is something I am still working at.

its a daylight color light so that is nice. the only reason I am giving a 4 star. you have to always cycle thru the light choices (3) to turn off or even on to get to what one you want. not to bad but it would have been nice to just be able to select the mode you want and off. or at least if it stayed on in a certain mode for more then lets say 5 or 10 seconds that it would go off when you press the button again. and then next time you turn it on have it go to that last setting. just my opinion on that part.
also its super bright, to very bright, to bright lol. even the lowest setting especially at nite is bright.
but outside those its a great lamp. I use it when I stream or use my webcam as its dark, so I place the lamp away from me and the reflection lights up my area.
I love how thin it is as well. does not take up a lot of space.
I also wish it had a rechargeable battery.

In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, I began paying more attention to the impact of things such as sunlight on my health. When my son was younger, we spent a lot of money to try to determine why he had such trouble getting quality sleep on a regular basis. The verdict? His body’s rhythm was off, and the doctor said there wasn’t much that could be done about it.
Fast-forward to today, and I learned about Circadian Optic’s line of therapy lamps. I decided to pick one up and see if it could have a positive impact on me. There are several models to choose from, but I decided to go with the Lumos model, which is the most adjustable and portable model they make.
The Lumos is indeed compact. It’s thin and long, and can easily be taken with you when you travel. I like that I don’t have to dedicate a table to it, I just put it where I want it. One end of it articulates to form an L-shape that allows it to stand up on your table. It comes with an additional base piece that makes it a little more stable. Due to how tall it is, it’s easy to knock over, but it’s not unstable.
The part housing the LEDs can be moved into an almost infinite variety of positions. It can be straight up and down, or twisted fully around so that it’s shining up at you. It can also be set into more of a horizontal position, with pretty much any angle you like. It really is easy to make it fit into any setup. The only button on the device is a 3-way touch sensitive button on the front. Just tap it to cycle from off through any of the 3 available brightness settings. Whichever one you pick, don’t stare into it—it’s very bright!
The build quality of this thing is very good. It’s all plastic, but solidly built, and I expect to be using it for years to come. Prior models offered a battery option, but the current model is AC-only. That’s okay, since batteries produce less light output as they die, and lumens are the key here. I looked at reviews of previous models and found a number of people complaining about the unit getting too hot, even to the point of failure, so I was a little nervous about that. I’ve been using mine for about two weeks now, and I’m happy to report that this seems to be a glitch that has been fixed. I typically use mine for about 30 minutes at a time, and it only gets warm, not hot.
Now to the question that everyone wants to have answered: does it work? I find that a hard question to answer. While I did feel that using the lamp in the morning helped me to wake up more quickly, I’m not sure about its impact on my circadian rhythms. I don’t really suffer from sleep disorders, but I was hoping the lamp might help me to stay awake better in the middle of the day when I typically hit a slump. I do wonder if it’s big enough to provide a benefit, but I don’t have anything to compare it against.
So, while I may not be able to say it has helped to regulate my wake/sleep cycles, I am pleased with the lamp. One unintended benefit is that I use it on video calls to illuminate me against the windows that are behind me. The lamp does a great job of that without getting in my way. I plan to continue using it regularly, and who knows? Maybe I’ll be able to get out of my mid-afternoon doldrums.

Not Quite A Trip to the Tropics, but …

Lumos Light Therapy Lamp (Circadian Optics)
If you’ve lived in any of the northern tier states, you or someone you know has expressed how much you need the winter to end. The increased level of darkness, perhaps even more than the cold weather, is wearing. Your mood suffers and wanting to sleep a lot are a few of the symptoms. It’s a well known phenomena and this seasonal depression has a name: Seasonal Affective Disorder. One of the treatment suggestions that comes to the forefront is LIGHT THERAPY. That’s right. If the absence of light is the problem, increasing the light in your day might be just the thing.
The LUMOS lamps provide the correct full range light spectrum (minus the UV rays) and might help in making you feel better. This is a very bright lamp and its 3 levels of brightness are very useful. Even though I’m not sure these levels of light are fully sufficient, they also permit longer periods of use. (As bright as this lamp is, light diminishes by the square of the distance away from the light source. In other words, the light intensity decreases to a quarter brightness if we double the distance we sit away from it.) You will want to have the lamp close to you to get the full impact; just don’t aim it at your eyes. Everyone can benefit to some degree. I love having the brighter illumination and the increased feelings of well-being when occupying rooms lit up with my Lumos Light lamps. I’m using it where I work and where I spend time reading. It’s a great way to await the summertime natural light.
Read the research for yourself. This lamp might help. It’s a lot less expensive than a midwinter trip to the tropics and the lamp is available the entire season. Of course, if you can, buy the lamp and take the trip.
