If you're an Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton fan, you'll love this, because this shows them in love right before your eyes. Moreover, they can act. Rex Harrison, as "Caesar," is brilliant. The score composed by Alex North, is simply gorgeous and also enhances the battle scenes. Please don't go by the initial critics. The film is lavish and fun to watch. Cleopatra's entrance into Rome is one of the most outstanding sequences on film! Roddy McDowell is also outstanding!

This is an amazing and great movie for anytime. My family and I are very appreciated for can bought this item. We were wondering time together in family enjoyed this Old Movie. I definitely loved this movie in the past but when Ive seen it on special @Best Buy on blue ray it was a must grab! The picture quality and sound effects were simply amazing! This definitely has my 5 star rating Especially when its almost a 4hr movie on 2 dvds♡

Joseph L. Mankiewicz's "Cleopatra" was a massive box-office failure when it was released. It is a typical embodiment of Hollywood, at that time, producing grand-scale, grandiose "historical epics" that white-washed so many of the stories it portrayed -- i.e. biblical movies, this film, et al. Caucasian actors speaking with American and British accents playing Middle Eastern, Egyptian, and so on characters. It seems pretty silly. But darn it, the movies are all so ENTERTAINING. "Cleopatra" is certainly no exception. It's epic, visually stunning, brilliantly designed entertainment. And Liz is her usual commanding self as the queen. The role was tailor-made for her. And the movie is certainly very, very long -- a major test of patience for anyone with short attention spans or who gets fidgety easily. But it's just such an excellent movie.

What a babe. It’s no wonder Dick Burton married her multiple times. She is one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen. This “Cleopatra” is both epic and a classic…with Taylor, Burton and Harrison leading an all-star cast. Mr. Burton…I envy you.

Firs time I saw this movie when I was a kid in a movie theater almost 40 years ago. Now when I saw it on Blu ray I just could not pass it by. True historic story of ancient world. Great famous actors. Massive decorations. True classic that deserves a place in any collection.

This movie was panned when it was originally released. But, re-viewing this on Blu-ray just brings it all back to life. Enjoy it for what it is...a masterpiece in film-making! And who doesn't wanna see Liz Taylor up close and personal!! Just beautiful.

Never seen before, so thought I'd purchase since it's a classic. Great addition to library, and blown away but how good of an actress Ms. Taylor was. Highly recommend!

Cleopatra was a young, seductive women, who could drive the men in her life crazy with disire and manipulation. Just look one good look and they were hooked.

Glad to have been able to add to my Blu ray collection

The documentary is phenomenal, but the film remain what is always was, a tedious over-long epic that wants to be Shakespeare or Shaw, but ends up just a disappointing mess. I saw this in a theatre at a reissue and wandered around the halls of the gigantic movie palace where I saw it, rather than suffer through the entire length of the movie, I had this on dvd, and didn't get through it there, either. But, at this price, I figured that the blu ray would make the documentary more watchable. It did. I have gone through segments of the actual film and the visuals and DTS sound are spectacular, but I haven't attempted the whole film.

sure this movie almost bankrupted 20th Century Fox in the 1960's but it was also nominated for a ton of awards too. It's a great film, all-be-it an extremely long one, at almost 4 hours. Thank goodness for pause buttons. LOL

Saw this movie when I was a kid and at this sale price simply had to have it. The bonus feature on the making of this film was worth it alone. Turns out this movie changed Hollywood forever.

A classic that looks even better in hi def. If you're a fan of these older movies, you can't beat this price.

It has been a long time since I saw this movie, and it was a joy to see it in such great quality picture.

This film is over four hours filled with extravagant sets, costumes and performers. The story seems to drag in parts but overall "Cleopatra" is a visual stunner.
