The modular psu is great, the cords are long enough to fit a bigger case than mine, I have the NZXT H440. The Corsair iLink is pretty neat, it shows how much power you are using and monitors temps on things.

.I recently built a new system and purchase this PSU to power a water-cooled 8-Core CPU, NVidia GTX 980 ti video card, 11 LED Fans, and 5 disk drives. This modular unit provided me with all the power connections I needed, and has plenty of power to spare. Corsair didn't spare any expense on this one, even down to the packaging.

I can throw just about any peripherals at this and there is still plenty of room for more. I have finally started considering a 3-GPU system because of this power supply. I like knowing the exact loads through the software. Is it overkill? Probably, but I do love the ability to overclock as high as my peripheral allows and there is no power starvation.

Over all this psu is awesome and i only have very small gripes with it. If you have the money and a need for 1200w psu you should be looking very hard at this unit. As far as value goes you can get a cheeper psu in this power range, so i did take a point off there. But in my book the other power units dont stack up apples to apples. Yes im sure you pay a little extra for the corsair name, but, for the seven year warranty, the corsair link, quality packaging and accessorys, and the platinum certification I think it was a great buy. This unit is solid, comes with many cables and some neat bags to fit it all in. It even comes with an addapter to plug into a usb header on your main board so if you dont have the corsair link you can still monitor your psu. I fit this unit into a corsair 600t case and had no problems with the cable lengths although the overall lenght of the ax1200i covered up some of the rubber cable management grommets. I just ran the cables through the square hole just past them and i think it looks fine. I thought this was weird that a corsair psu would fit like this into a corsair case but then started to think that the average user of this much power would probobly be using the 800d case. (although if you are using a case the size of an 800d you will want to look into a cpu 4+4 power cable extension as the cable length was tight in the 600t) With the added head room and clean power i was able to get more out of my system, i got to take my 3570k to 4.6ghz vs the 4.4 i could get with my old outdated psu. and with the added headroom i added my old gts 250 as a dedicated physics card just because i can! love it.

The power supply is well worth the money. The cables it comes with out of the box are amazing and powers everything I have with no problem in my new build.

this is over kill with the current gear out now, but i got it to future proof for a long long time.
