Customers highly value the CX750M power supply's reliable performance, modular design, and quiet operation. Many appreciate its ease of installation and the included cables, along with its reasonable price. While some found the size larger than expected, the majority reported positive experiences. A small number of users noted coil whine or heat as potential issues.

Faulty product

Not too sure if I have the worst luck on earth or if it is the company who is making this power supply but I purchased one that had happened to be faulty (it would overheat). I contacted the manufacturer for a replacement and received one with no problem. After installing the replacement, it overheated again and the fan did not kick in at the time of heating. So, I decided to purchase a new power supply manufactured by a different company and have yet to have problems with the new one I purchased. Based on the other reviews, it seems as if I the most unfortunate man in the world. So, based on my experiences with the quality of the product and the services of the manufacturer, I cannot recommend this product.

Had to spend an extra $20 for a power cord so you're really not saving any money on this deal.

I absolutely love corsair products and have never been disappointed. Have always used the CX750M's and the first time I use this CX850M I have two failed PSU's within 6 months. I will never buy the CX850M again and recommend the CX750M instead.

bought in Dec 2015 for sons computer I built. It was great for even the regular price but got around 50% off. back in feb of this yr it just stopped working. Warranty claims is a joke. Its now Nov and still no word on replacement of fixing. Just its in the system.

Maybe I have a lemon here, distinct "POP" from the unit when it died. Pulled from system to test but power supply is completely dead. Not what I expect from Corsair.

I had this product for less than 8 months before it started to give off an extremely strong odor of burning plastic. It filled my entire house with the odor. I replaced it with an old Antec PSU I had, and the odor went away. I've submitted for an RMA with Corsair. Lesson learned: Corsair does not make good PSUs.

Unfortunately after a few months of use I have come to realize that my unit is faulty.
Everything seemed fine until I started to have very random and intermittent full system restarts under heavy load.
Initially my research came to conclude that the single PCIE cable I was running to my Red Devil 5700XT along with its dongle wasn't sufficient enough to fully power it.
I then proceeded to do what most do and run 2 PCIE cables to the GPU, only for the problem to get WORSE, and for the whole computer to restart just upon launching a game.
For now I've gone back to the single cable with dongle, along with an undervolt of my GPU to help mitigate the symptoms, and things seem to be stable for now.
Alas, some games will still crash even with my best efforts.
For instance, Borderlands 3 never causes the issue, but something like Halo Reach will.
Also the fan has had a chattering noise as it spins ever since I first powered it on.
Will not be buying anything system integral from corsair ever again, and will be going with a nice Seasonic 1000W like I should have from the start.

I bought this power supply in the store and once I installed it, it would cause issues on boot up and under load since day one till it died and it was rated well above the required power for the custom pc I just built, and dealing with corsairs tech support for weeks and them saying I was wrong and doubting me when I said it was the power supply finally I bought a EVGA Supernova 650W it instantly fixed the problem pc ran so smooth no issues like before then I call corsair explain the new power supply fixed it they finally let me rma it but because I lost the receipt I can only rma it once for the 5 year warranty and I have to pay the shipping and after all hassle with there tech supports and the fact that product is extremely poor quality I don't even want to rma it anymore I just rather not deal with corsair in the future.

Horrible product and horrible Best Buy service

I have bought two of these things so far. The first one lasted 3 months before i smelled a faint burning electrical smell. that same day it completely shut off. Replaced it with another one, thinking i got a bad one, and the second power unit did the same thing after only a month. Replaced them both with the original 650W PC power unit, which is cranking away just fine. No reason why my computer would be too strong for a 750W and okay with a 650W. Opened my big mouth when i tried to take the second one back, and Best Buy refused to take it and told me to go through the manufacturer. Yeah, because that always works out great. Corsair makes good memory chips, but stay away from their PC power supplies. It will be a long time until i shop at Best Buy again.

Bad out of the box

Bought this for a friend as a gift because myself and a bunch of friends purchased the parts for a brand new build to get him up-to-date and gaming again. This was the last PSU on the shelf in the store and seemed the perfect power for what he needed. Brought it back and tore down his PC and installed this one in the new build. The computer wouldn't even finish reinstalling windows and would restart requiring another reinstall of windows. After some diagnostics, we came to the conclusion the PSU was the issue. Returned this PSU and got a 700w non-modular PSU (Last one on the shelf again) and rebuilt the PC.. works great... This is the SECOND corsair PSU ive gotten bad out of the box in the past 6 months.

Got a Lemon.

I installed the CX750M into a new computer build. The PC started up just fine. I installed Windows 10 OS, still running great. After OS install
and all updates and drives installed this power supply shut down and
let out a loud " POP" and a burnt smell. I then replaced the power supply with a EVGA 600 80+ and turned the computer on. The computer started up perfectly. No harm was done to my new PC. I called BEST BUY and was told that Best Buy has a two week return policy. I guess I just got a LEMON.

First impression it powered on. then I started a game and the psu fan maxed out , sounds like a jet engine in a wind tunnel. The thing is that I only have the atx power cable , cpu power and one 8 pin to my graphics card and this thing is already maxed out. fan is spinning like 3k rpm. My best advise is go with EVGA. Totally ridiculous , will be returning asap.

This PSU ran fine until today. Just a couple months after the 1 year warranty for Corsair. Sad because my previous PSU that came stock lasted 4 years. Very disappointed.

Installed the PSU and at first everything seemed fine until I started to play a game about 30 minutes into the game my PC randomly reboots from that point on the system became very unstable.
Took the Power Supply back to Best Buy and they didn't have anymore of the CX750M, so I picked up the Thermaltake Smart M 850W and all of my stability issues are gone
