Customers recognize the high quality, RGB lighting, and satisfying key feel of the Gaming K65 RGB Mechanical Keyboard, frequently praising its compact size and ease of use. However, some users experienced challenges with the keyboard's software and the need for two USB ports. The audible click of the keys during typing was also noted by a few users.

I love this keyboard. Feels great. Looks better. The software is easily the biggest downfall. It's nearly impossible just to pick up and learn. I was able to get the hang of it after quite a bit and even then there are a lot of things that will take time to understand. The board currently does NOT display the correct amount of colors either, but this will be fixed in an update.

I loved the fact that not only can you color each key differently but you can remap the keys too. The size was perfect and fits right under my monitor stand. The keys feel great, although it took a little bit to get adjusted to. I really enjoyed coloring and remapping F9-F12 to be dedicated media keys.
I use a nostromo for gaming so I didn't need a huge gaming KB anymore.

Great keyboard. This is my first gaming keyboard and I think it is worth it. Customization is top notch. The smaller form factor is great for me to because of my desk space. The only gripe I have is the utility that you use to customize the colors and layout isn't very intuitive. If they could simplify the user interface I would have given it 5 stars. It takes a bit but you can find tutorials on youtube to help you with the interface.

This keyboard adds RGB backlighting to the already great K65 mechanical keyboard. The MX reds are responsive and feel wonderful for typing or gaming. Completely customizable backlighting in a small package.

I was looking at a new keyboard for months. Mechanical KB's are extremely expensive. Finally descided on this Corsair. This thing is beefy!! You'll be in awwww of the weight. It could stop a bullet!! Not a typing KB, the keys feel like they can take a beeting which is what you need from a gaming product. It will last through the next zombie apocalypse!
Not to mention Best Buy had the product labeled incorrectly and honored the lower price! That was very classy and the reason while I continue to give my business to them!!! Great job BB, customer for life!

One of the best silent mechanical keyboards

This is one of the rgb mechanical keyboards on the market. Corsair software takes a little bit of learning but is capable of a lot more customizability than even the razer black widow chroma. The ten keyless form factor will save you some desk space if you are willing to part with the number pad. And the cherry reds in this keyboard give you a really silent experience compared to other key switches.

This keyboard is a great transition for anyone who has been using membrane keyboards. While red keys lack the tactile feel of some of the other keys, they offer the fastest response of any of the different colors. For many it is choice between this keyboard and the Razer RBG one. Razer uses an in house brand of keys. They aren't bad keys, just inconsistent. Corsair uses CherryMX and they have much higher manufacturing standards so each key seems equivalent in response. The colors on this keyboard are brilliant as well. Programming the keyboard is fairly straight forward and there are several informative youtube videos for instructions.

My previous keyboard was the Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red (Non-RGB version) which I used for well over a year and I love it. When playing a game, I use the Razer Tartus gamepad on my left and my gaming mouse on the right. For my space simulator, I use my Thrustmaster throttle on the left, the joystick on the right, and my mouse further on the right. It can get a little cramped. I rarely use the number pad as it is (except with calculator), so a tenkeyless keyboard sounded like a great idea.
I've been looking at the tenkeyless keyboards like the K65 for a while now. The Razer and the K65 were on my short list and they both had great reviews. After trying both in the Best Buy store, I chose the K65. Both were great, but the K65 had a natural typing feel to me. Perhaps its because its practically the same as K70 which I am used to, but that is also the reason why I chose the K70 to begin with.
Everything looks and feels just like the K70 with the K65 except for the number pad and the rolling volume "button". The K65 feels durable. The key press is smooth, natural, and responsive. If you've never used one, a mechanical keyboard is a little noisier than a membrane keyboard, but the Cherry MX Red is the one of the quietest ones available and I don't think you would have an issue with it.
The amount of space freed up without the number pad is noticeable and very helpful. The keyboard also feels more lined up with my monitor. I don't miss the number pad at all.
I am very pleased with this purchase and I have already recommended it to other gamers.

Great Keyboard - minor firmware issues

This keyboard looks and feels awesome. The programmable RGB lighting works well but unfortunately causes some havoc in sleep mode - due to a weird firmware issues the keyboard goes into 'demo mode' displaying rainbow patterns when in sleep mode for too long, not a deal breaker for me but something to note. If you intend to type on this keyboard I also recommended you pick up some cherry MX O-rings, they make the typing experience for MX red switches much better.

Well built keyboard with Cherry MX Switches. The RGB feature is nice, allowing you to set up your own color scheme. You're also able to save a scheme to the keyboard memory so that you can quit the software that automatically runs at start up, that way you can eliminate any possibly of lag cause by the software. When typing the keyboard feels and sounds solid. No pinging keys, no hollow empty sounding structure. I have run into a couple issues, one more severe than the other. First is the smallest issue, being that key lights won't retain custom intensity setting when you stop the software from running 24/7. The major issue is that I'm already starting to see double registers with the E, R and one other key that I can't remember ( as it rarely does it, unlike the E and R keys. I've had this keyboard for literally only a month. I've owned plenty of Corsair keyboards (4 other K70's, one brown switch, three red), and the red switch models would all eventually double tap, but only after a year or so of heavy use and smoking around them. This one I've only smoked in the same room a couple times and it's already showing issues. Maybe these RGB Red Switches aren't nearly as durable or resistant as the others. All in all, it's a decent little compact keyboard. I've enjoyed using it.

Malfunctions everywhere

After a few months of use, this is reporting consistent malfunctions in the Corsair Software (which is also terrible on its own). The keyboard's lights will stop functioning when the device reports a malfunction, and only a restart will fix it, and it can last anywhere between 2 minutes or 3 days before the next malfunction.
I've done everything Corsair support has asked (which was only 1 thing -_-), and now they want to charge me for shipping for an RMA on something that is still under warranty and only has at MOST 3 months of use.
Many others have reported this on the forums, and no real fix has been found. Save your money on this one and get something else.

I purchased this keyboard due to lack of room for a regular sized keyboard with my current desk. This keyboard fits perfectly where I need it to. I appreciate the various types of light shows you can download for free from the manufacturers website. It is excellent quality and build. It does take two usb spots on your pc one for data and one for power. I will say one downside is since it is a mechanical keyboard it is a little loud when I type. But other than that I strongly recommend this keyboard!

This keyboard works great..I was a Razer user but I ended up getting this and have no regrets getting it. The customizable key colors are a nice touch although quite confusing on how to change the colors....the only cons I have is the keyboard requires 2 USB ports to utilize it and the lack of ease in which to change the color of the keys. Other than that this a very good gaming keyboard.
