I have to admit. I am really enjoying the k70 and the Cherry Speed switches. I have noticed my typing speed increased a bit. However, this only came after a few days with the switches and getting use to it. If you are coming from a heavy switch, like a cherry black, you will notice right away that you do not need to bottom the key out to register. This is where the learning curve comes into play. If you lightly type and not bottom out the key, you can fly through the keys much faster. There is one small caveat to this though, the switches are very very sensitive and you can easily push a key while moving to another key. This still happens to me every so often, even after weeks of use. I am using a different keyboard at work and I believe that contributes to this. However, just something to think about. The RGB is pretty good. I have to admit, I do not use it very often. However, when I want to show off my RGB lighting on whole setup, it fits in nicely. There are TONS and TONS of custom options you can do in terms of light. Each key is lite from the middle portion of the switch. This make the light spread nicely and helps show the light through the key caps. The key caps are really my only down side. They do not look quality at all. Almost feel cheap to me. The included WASD textured keys are just as bad. The D is already starting to wear after a few weeks. I only play WoW or HoTS, so its not like I am gaming 24-7. I would like to see nicer keycaps for sure, but I will not let that hold back its perfect rating.

    Great Build - Useless Software

I purchased this keyboard in-store about three weeks ago. The build quality is great, the Cherry-Speed keys were way too sensitive for me at first, but I'm getting used to it. My biggest issue is that the way I rest on WASD, my resting weight on A triggers it and I start running sideways regularly. It was pretty irritating until I figured it out. So the hardware seems great so it's a real shame that the iCue software is utterly horrible. I am currently running it while typing this review with a basic Wave lighting effect running and iCue is using 25% of my CPU. If I run it while playing a game it hovers somewhere around 12-25% of CPU. Sometimes this goes as high as 45%. There is no possible way to stretch the meaning of "acceptable" to accommodate ... this. I just changed my lighting effect to a static color, and the CPU usage has increased to 33%. Killing the process makes your computer happy but the lighting effect that was previously loaded might suddenly stop working, giving you no lights at all on your board. Oh, and the special keys like the windows-key lock stop working. This effectively makes the expensive lighting effects unusable if you are playing a game. This is quite sad from a marquee brand company that caters to gaming enthusiasts. It's like buying an Alfa Romeo sports car and being told you can't use the stereo while the car is moving.

If you're into hallucinogenic drugs, you won't need this keyboard! It can do it for you. On the other hand if you just want to see your keys in either low light or fully lit rooms with a logical color code to your keys, check this one out. Sure, there are scripts to make your keybd look like a Las Vegas marquee on full tilt, but it has a lot to offer for simpler folks like me, too. The keys are mechanically very tactile but NOT quiet by design. I like to hear myself hit the key. But if you leave a finger too heavy, she will machine gun on you! And if find my presses misaligned touch typing but I never was one anyway. After using my last Logitech G19 for many years, I think the key spacing may be slightly different but after about a month of using this one, I've adjusted. I decided on this keybd for two reasons: the ample lighting (and adjustments) and the "open" nature of the layout. With its heavier construction of an aluminum frame & raised keys, it doesn't move around as much. And who has not been eating while typing with greasy fingers or crumbs falling in between keys? Ever try to clean 100+ keys of grime and debris? That's life, huh? With no shell covering the key base, it's so much easier to brush in between keys. And for grease build up on the key face, ASUS also provides a nice tool to extract each key for wipe down and it snaps right back on afterwards. Overall, it does the job I wanted. A little more than I wanted to spend but the aluminum construction (weight), the "open" keys and customized lighting feature made it worth the extra cash from the typical plastic trash collectors.

So, I bought this a month or two ago as my keyboard I had died. I was going to get a quality one and found this on Amazon, but decided to go through Best Buy. I am very happy with my purchase. It's very aesthetically pleasing, The LEDs are nice and bright and it doesn't attract any fingerprints (even after I ate pizza and popcorn which amazed me). The keyboard comes with two sets of keycaps as well, one for MOBA games like League of Legends and one for WASD games like Overwatch. These come with a keycap puller so you don't have to worry about damaging your keys when removing them. The lower actuation is noticeable and now I have issues typing on other keyboards because i expect that lower actuation to actuate keys when it doesn't. Now, I do have to take a star off for a couple of reasons, the first being it very easy collects dust. Now, it's a brushed aluminum keyboard, so while it doesn't collect fingerprints, dust is a HUGE problem with this keyboard. I've already sprayed it out with canned air 2-3 times. The other area I have to ding it on is I wanted the RGB version as it was the same price at the time of my purchase. I thought I saw RGB on the keyboard itself but it wasn't the RGB. I never got it replaced, though, as the red is still very aesthetically pleasing and actually went with the scheme I had accidently starting making with my mouse and headset. Another thing to note is the keyboard itself is relatively small compared to Razer keyboards, but becomes big and clunky with the wrist rest on. I am VERY happy with my purchase and even though I did not get the RGB keyboard I had wanted, I still have a very nice keyboard that is both aesthetically pleasing and very durable. If you need a mouse or a keyboard I definitely recommend Corsair!

To keep it relatively short and sweet, this keyboard is great. After using this keyboard for the better part of a year I can honestly justify the premium price to it. The switches are no joke, and really do hold up to the title of "rapid fire." It took some getting used to since they keys require almost zero effort to press, the slightest touch makes them go, it is highly sensitive. Some people may not like that, but for me I really enjoy it for gaming and typing. It is very efficient. The full RGB is pretty sweet too. If you dowload the corsair utility program on your rig, you can do some pretty cool and 100% pure customization for color schemes, macros, and if you have other corsair rbg devcies, you can even do synchronized lighting. Cleaning the keyboard is pretty easy too. The switches are slightly raised from the base of the board allowing easier access for cans of air and Q-tips to get in there. Cool added features: It comes with a detatchable wrist guard for addded comfort if you have long sessions. Has a cool little volume controler that lets you adjust your system volume which I found myself using a lot more than I expected. It also has a USB port so if you quickly want to plug a usb stick or charge your phone, you can do it staright from the keyboard. Only "con" I can really think of is that the keyboard requires 2 free usb ports on your computer to plug it in. So if you dont have many USB ports to spare then consider getting a usb hub. Overall this keyboard is solid and I dont plan on getting a new one any time soon.

Been wanting this keyboard for a long time and it was soooo worth the wait. Picked it up for $99 online and had it next day delivery. Switching out WSAD keys was a cinch and the illumination options are endless. There is a usb “in”on the back for your Corsair mouse or whatever wired mouse you currently have. Now I already downloaded the Corsair Engine because I had the mouse and headset so the keyboard worked right out of the box. All I had to change is the static color to blue because I didn’t want it changing colors or flashing. That being said the color options are endless. The keys feel amazing! I decided to play DOOM and there was zero lag as I played through a few levels. I would honestly say that this keyboard is making me rethink all those games I play with a Microsoft game pad. All in all a great keyboard. Very sturdy and comfortable for long sessions. Key strokes are quiet and almost silent WSAD while gaming.

Coming from a Logitech G910 Orion Spark this keyboard is much more comfortable and I find typing on it much easier than the Logitech keyboard. It seems that keys are easier to locate when typing fast and the fast button response when playing games is very noticeable. There is very little key travel to activate the switch. Being Cherry MX keys also means that getting custom key caps is much easier to find ones that fit. The Corsair Utility Engine (CUE) software is very easy to use and provides certain functionalities that are extremely neat. You can search and download profiles that other people have created so you don't have to set up your own you can just click a button and be ready for any of your favorite games. This keyboard is great and I love the build quality of it, for the price it feels like you are getting what you pay for compared to standard plastic keyboards. It is also very light weight for anyone that needs to take it places. The USB pass through is also a nice touch so you can connect your phone and charge it while playing games and have it right in front of you. Definitely would recommend this for anyone looking for a fantastic mechanical keyboard.

This was a surprise for my sons. They play a lot of games and a mechanical keyboard is better for that. This one has very responsive keys, and the ability to color code each letter on the keyboard or apply many different color effects. It also comes with some grey key caps for the W A S D keys. Those are handy for gamers. I typed on several different keyboards, and I like the feel of this one best for everyday typing. The keys have good spacing between them. I also like the media controls and their placement on this keyboard, and the cord has a premium quality feel. The cord requires 2 USB ports, so you should know that. Some people say this won't work with a KVM switch, but as long as your KVM has 2 USB ports this will work fine. I also bought a Corsair mouse to go with this, and I plug the mouse into the USB passthrough on the keyboard, so it works really well. The software is cool too. My only complaint is that the keyboard doesn't light up until after it finishes loading the user profile and software. My old keyboard was lit a BIOS boot, which I thought was better.

I previously used a Dell membrane keyboard for over 5 years before this. After finally fighting with that freakishly $150 price tag, I don't regret it. The typing experience is simply amazing at best due to the Cherry MX Speed switches having a 1.2 mm actuation with smooth and fast rebounds for quick typing. Gaming was also great simply because of the switch and realized my hands had less fatiugue unless my previous keyboard. My only gripes with this keyboard would be its loud noise, almost as loud as the infamous cherry MX blue switches. If you are worried about noise, I recommend going with the Corsair Strafe RGB has those have the MX Silent switches. I also have problems with the CUE software as it is somewhat confusing at first and needs to be running in order for the keyboard to work. The build and design is simply amazing however with its aluminum base plate and the wrist pad is a nice touch. If you have the money and want the best keyboard for gaming and even typing, go with the K70 Rapidfire.

Got this keyboard a few months ago because I needed a new one a decided why not just go big, was not disappointing. Had gotten one, brought it how, tried it for a bit but the lights kept going out randomly for some reason. Tried everything under the sun to fix it but nothing worked for long. Brought it in to exchange, got a new one and the same thing happened. Later found out it was just my USB driver needed an update (made me feel like a bit of a fool for exchanging a perfectly good keyboard because of the only thing i didn't think of). Takes a little time to figure out how to change lighting and set some profiles, but after you figure it out they keyboard is great. Makes click sounds when you type but its just load enough for you to know you hit your key and don't have to spam them (yay no more smashed keys). Colors are very vibrant, typing is very smooth, is a bit smaller then the keyboard i was using and possibly a bit smaller then a normal keyboard you might find at a library so it does take some getting used to at first, but after you do you wont be disappointed.

I was debating on getting this keyboard or the Raver blackwidow chroma v2, but I'm definitely happy I've made the right choice! I ordered this on 11/25 and it came today (11/27) and I chose free shipping too! I got this keyboard during black Friday for a cheaper price of $100 (which is $60 less than the original price). I just opened it and I had no trouble setting it up and downloading the software. Quality= Very clicky, and not as nosy as people say it is. It's extremely satisfying to the point where I can open a keyboard ASMR youtube channel. Colors= Variety of options to choose from and it's sooo fascinating to watch, but it's not a distraction when gaming.Wrist Rest= Comfortable, soft plastic and glad it's not a plush one, since it's repellent to the sweat. Overall, this was an amazing upgrade from a regular keyboard to a keyboard that absolutely blew my mind and exceeded my standards.

I picked up this keyboard about six months ago. It all worked great. The keys are great to work with. Easy to see. Good and solid. Then about a month ago it started shorting out ever time I move the keyboard. I called Corsair to see if i could get it fixed and I got nothing. They did tell me that they don't fix there own keyboards. They took all the information but that was it. No address to send it to. So hear I set with a keyboard that I can use as a boat anchor. I talked to some salesmen at best buy and was told that this is the norm. It is a buy and thought away. but at 170 dollars you would think you would get something for your money. So to fix it I went back to Best Buy and I now have a 20 dollar keyboard that works great. I can buy 9 more 20 dollar keyboards that would work just well.No there is no light keys that light up but I think I can live with that.

What can you not like about this keyboard. It is RGB and has tons of effects. You can create them yourself, the possibilities are endless. If you are a fan of linear switches you will like these MX Speed switches. They take less pressure to actuate the key and the distance is almost half of the MX Cherry Reds. The feel of the keys are top notch and feel like it is built to last. I love the brushed aluminum frame and the extra usb port on top. It lacks macro keys, but you can program each key if you wanted to. I don't like the thick cable but it is definitely high quality. Not a fan of the font, but I got used to it. The keys are really loud, but I like it :). The Corsair Cue software takes time to get used to, but it works when you understand it. Aside from these things, it is a great keyboard. These keys will take some getting used to because they don't take much to activate. I love love love this keyboard. .:Verdict:. BUY

MX Speed Switch Just Fine For My Typing Work

I almost didn't get this keyboard for my work-at-home job due to "bad for typing" reviews, but I had already ordered the K95 RGB Platinum MX Speed keyboard for my gaming rig, and I really wanted to use the same keys for work and games, to synchronize the feel and thus be more efficient in both areas. So I took a chance ($50 off helped) and bought this day before my K95 arrived to test out the keys on my business computer - it works great! I like it better than the Razer Greens, MX Blues and Romer Gs I've used on my work computer before. The MX Speed keys were a nice touch and feel for me right out of the box. Keyboards and mice are a personal preference. For instance, I use a DeathAdder Elite for both work and gaming because it fits my hand like a glove. Mice and keyboards are a personal choice. You might not like the Speeds like I do. But you have to try it for yourself - you might like it.

This keyboard was a major upgrade from my cherry Mx red equivalent redragon keyboard. The switches feel like butter and the reaction time between keystrokes is on the same level as Romer G’s which I have used in the past at friends previous setups. In my opinion they feel Much better in terms of the keycaps and actuation force. It is also very comfortable with the included wrist rest which I prefer over razors plush wrist rest which accumulates sweat during gaming sessions. This keyboard is a must for someone who needs not only something that can handle the speed but handle the pressure overtime. This keyboard will grow with you as a gamer and as a typist. Coming from and FPS veteran this product is fantastic for first and third person shooter with its Moab keycaps!

Upgraded from a Blackwidow by Razer. Going from Razers Green keycaps that are louder than any keyboard I have ever heard in my entire life, to the special red caps have made a huge difference. Sound is much more manageable, and the reduced key travel has already made a huge improvement to response time. However, if you are going to be using this as a typing keyboard and not a gaming keyboard I may recommend staying away. With the reduced travel of the keys, you may find yourself with quite a few typos. However, as a gaming keyboard this is just hands down the best I have ever used. The RGB is a nice touch as well, and its fun to play around with. I have to say, I am incredibly impressed by Corsairs quality, and I dont think I am ever going back to Razer products. And yes, the software isnt great for Corsair. However so far its much better than Razers RGB software, and that works for me

This is my second Corsair Mechanical Keyboard. I love them. This one has Cherry MX Speed switches. Gaming and typing on it feels great. The number lighting combinations are very impressive, though I do wish the Corsair Utility Engine was a bit easier to use. The keyboard has media controls, a Windows lock button, and a button to adjust the level of brightness for the keys. The included wrist rest coated in soft rubber is comfortable. My previous Corsair keyboard didn't have one, and I'm glad this one does. The cable is braided, and this keyboard has USB passthrough which is a tiny feature that I love and can't live without. The removable keycaps are of high quality make. It is expensive, but you're getting a quality product with a good set of features.

This is my first gaming keyboard and I am impressed! I did a lot of research on keyboards and this one kept coming up as one of the best. I half to agree! First of all the RGB lighting is impressive. You get a lot of options when you download the FREE software form Corsair.com. You can use the presets or program whatever pattern you want. The keyboard is very responsive, but it is a little tricky at first. Standard noise for a mechanical keyboard. The font on the keys is awesome and very easy to see. Great for gaming and casual users. I highly recommend this keyboard.

Very nice keyboard. Liked the feel and the spacing of the keys much better than other keyboards I tried in the store. This one has good travel to the keys and a nice click. The color schemes are really cool. It comes with different colored W, A, S, and D keycaps for gaming. Easy to install. Requires 2 USB ports, but it has a USB passthrough port so I can plug the mouse into this keyboard. The only reason its not 5 stars is that the keys are very sensitive. Sometimes I just brush against a key and it registers. Took some getting used to, but I can really type fast and the kids absolutely love this keyboard for gaming and for the custom color schemes.

I bought this keyboard for my husband as a gift. He went back and forth between the corsair and a razer, and by back and forth I mean reading countless reviews, reading toms hardware recommendations etc. The rapid speed switches on the corsair are incredible. The response time is great which for a gamer is a HUGE deal. I don't have to hear any more " omg did you see how many times I hit my R and nothing happened". The cue software is much easier to use than its competitors. The backlighting is the brightest out of the keyboards in this range which adds a nice touch. You can even find premade profiles for several different video games. Comes with a USB port which is super helpful! All around it's a great purchase and probably the best keyboard you can get in it's price range!!
