I have never had a mechanical keyboard before this one, but was always interested. My previous keyboard was a G510 from Logitech but it started ghosting keys and having poor registration on the keys towards the upper right portion of the keyboard. I am happy to report that after about 2 months of heavy use, this keyboard is still going very strong!
The keyboard itself is very low profile, much smaller than my previous keyboard. The reaction time on the keystrokes is perfect and I thoroughly enjoy the different color options available. The Corsair Utility Engine is very simple to use, and while I am not that artistically inclined, there are many awesome color schemes available to download.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this keyboard to any on-the-fence casual gamers who are looking for something to spruce up their desk!

This keyboard is very solid and looks great! I was concerned that the keys would be too loud as I normally prefer very quiet laptop style keyboards, but this isn’t too bad. The customized lighting is amazing,

Overall I feel this is a good blend of aesthetics (RGB) and comfort with the quiet cherry mx stitches (if I recall correctly).
It plugs and plays quite well and I'm enjoying the responsiveness without the constant clack of my previous keyboard. Ok, my wife likes the no clack. I didn't care.
The 4 stars is due to the software. Seriously not impressed with it. Originally had it set to auto run but the system boots up and everything shows up however with auto start all the Corsair software does us tell me that there are no devices recognized.
Then there's the whole shebang of shutting down the software and then restarting it. It will recognize it the 2nd time usually but I occasionally will have to do it a 3rd time. It's an annoyance more than anything and keeping it from a 5 star.

This keyboard met all my expectation. Solid feel. Solid keys. definitely a great mechanical keyboard, especially for gaming. I really like how the unique silent cherry keys feel great (like cherries should), yet they don't have that obnoxious *click* sound that cherries usually do. The lighting effects seem a bit over the top for me tbh, but definitely really cool option. I actually use this behind a speaker/boombox during parties and just set-up the stream-light, rainbow effect. - Instant party hit!!

I started getting into mechanical keyboards and I'm very happy with my purchase. The range of colors the LEDs can support is amazing. More importantly, I like the feel of typing on this solid keyboard.

Good mechanical keyboard

This is a good mechanical keyboard that I'd rate 4.5 stars. To provide some context to my review, my other mechanical keyboard has Cherry MX green switches which are clicky, loud, and have more resistance (which I love). I chose this keyboard with silent Cherry MX switches because I needed something that I could use at home at night that won't wake the kids, yet I still wanted the "feel" of a mechanical keyboard. The clickiness is obviously different but it still feels like I'm typing on a mechanical keyboard, so mission accomplished.
The keys are narrower than other keyboards and it takes some getting used to; thus the subtraction of half a star. This is a full-sized keyboard with a ten-key number pad so I don't understand why they didn't make it a little larger with "normal" sized keys
I needed back-lighting but didn't require anything fancy so the multicolored lights are a bonus. I haven't played around with customizing the lights or keys nor do I intend to in the future.
To summarize, pros include:
* Still "feels" like a mechanical keyboard even though the switches are silent
* Backlit keys (multicolored a bonus)
* On each side of the keyboard is a strip of white light that both looks cool and provides ambient light around my desk
* You don't have to install or run the Corsair software in order to have backlit keys; there is a default backlight setting
* There is a dedicated button to dim and turn-off the backlighting
* The keys are raised or "floating" which makes it easy to clean since the spacing is so large i.e. there aren't any small crevices for junk to get into (you can also just pop the keys off for more thorough cleaning)
Cons:
* Keys are narrower than typical keyboards

I've actually bought two of these keyboards. The first was a gift for my roommate back in 2015, because he was an extremely loud typist and it was driving me crazy. He absolutely loves it and went on to buy a Corsair mouse and headset to pair with it. I had been using a Corsair Vengeance K70 keyboard for a few years myself, but I finally decided to upgrade (2017). Based on my roommate's positive experience, I decided to purchase the same keyboard for myself. I absolutely love the Strafe! I never experience any wrist pain and I love how quiet it is. I was also upgrading from blue LEDs to RGB, so I'm enjoying the new customization options as well.

The Corsair Strafe RGB is an incredible keyboard, made of high quality plastic. the included key-caps and key-cap remover tool are truly game changers, they fit the game style so well you'll never miss click again (I use both the FPS and the MOBA key-caps. The registry time is virtually non-existent and the RGB back-lighting is the best I have ever seen. The USB 3.0 pass-through is also very convenient, as well as the included wrist rest. However, every product has some flaw or thing that could be improved upon in a future model. for the RGB Strafe, some dedicated macro keys would be nice (all keys can be reprogrammed but no dedicated macros are included) and I've noticed that in the light dirt stands out very well, if you play in a dim lit area, this is not a problem. Other than that, I'ts an overall excellent keyboard that I would recommend to any gamer out there. (I have the Corsair Strafe RGB with Cherry MX silent switches. For the first month I used this keyboard with a laptop and it worked as well as it works on my custom built desktop.)

I have other mechanical keyboards that I use on my other computers, and this Strafe is my favorite out of all of them. I have a Logitech G903 with it's Romer G keys, similar to the Cherry Brown, which is nicer for the RGB lighting aspect of it and the Gamdias mechanical Cherry "clicky" Blues. In the manner of typing and lack of noise, this Strafe Silent keyboard is the winner. The keys have just the right feel and response for gaming and typing without feeling mushy, plus none of that annoying click that can give you nightmares. All the keys have the excellent silent touch except for one, and that is the space bar. It has more of a clunky noise unlike the other keys, and you can hear when you hit the space bar as it stands out for every press you make on it, especially if you are typing, say like a letter, email or long report. The RGB lighting of course is unlimited in it's adjustments, accurate and not hard to figure out for the settings. There is considerable light bleed from all of the keys underneath, unlike the Logitech G903, but it is not a bad effect. The USB port is also a nice bonus, something that I think Logitech should add to their keyboards, because who doesn't need a handy USB for charging their phone and other accessories on their desktop? Corsair has an extensive layout of mechanical keyboards of which you should take considerable time to evaluate each one that is best for you for function, appearance and price, as for me, this RGB Strafe silent is my top choice.

I got a coupon from Logitech and picked up a keyboard only to find that it was a mecha-membrane and only had "zone" lighting and not per-key. Returning it was an absolute nightmare, and I decided that despite a decade or more of loyalty to them, I was going to look somewhere else.
I looked around at a bunch of different keyboards, and finally settled on this one. I'm very happy with it!
The keys are MX Silents, which feel a lot like Reds I think. They are linear switches, so you don't feel a bump or hear a click, and they've been slightly altered to make the sound of the key hitting bottom even more quiet.
I had a friend over and he typed on it and said "holy crap, I thought your keyboard -looked- cool, but it is SO NICE to type on!"
The software is easy enough to figure out after fiddling with it a little bit and you can import things pretty easily. The only thing I kind of wish was different was more games having interactions with the lighting. I know that Logitech keyboards will have colors that reflect the current scene in Terraria, for example. Other than Diablo 3, I haven't seen any games cause the keyboard to have some special effect.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with it. Seems very sturdy, it's comfortable, it's beautiful, and I expect to use it for years to come.

I love this Strafe with MX Silent keys. It's not annoying when I'm gaming, my teammates cannot hardly hear me doing the WASD dance. I like that alot and wish my teammates had quieter keyboards. The build is pretty good and no issues at all there. I only have one thing I am not fond of and that's the wrist rest. It's way too low to be comfortable and the plastic feels way cheap.
The RGB colors are nice and bright with no bleed out from under the keys. The software takes a minute to get used to and it could have been done better. Come on Corsair. Other than wrist rest, I am quite pleased with this keyboard.

I purchased this to use in an office environment and needed it to be quieter than my other mechanical keyboards. I have no doubt the Cherry switches will last for years, and I probably will too since my coworkers won't jump over my cube wall and murder me for making noise.
The color scheme is highly customizable and there is also a single built in USB port as well. I highly recommend this for office workers, and gamers who need to keep the volume to a minimum while typing. Don't forget to flip the space bar.

This was my first mechanical gaming keyboard. I was considering the Razer Chroma but when I went to the store and tried it I didn't like the feel of the keys. Corsair uses authentic Cherry switches and these Silent MX switches are the newest addition to their lineup. As a gamer who shares my home with others I wanted something that would last me for years but wasn't too loud like many mechanical keyboards can be. The noise level is almost on-par with the membrane keyboard I had for years. There is an adjustment to the feel of it but believe me once you try it you won't go back!
This thing has an almost infinite number of possible color combinations. Sign up for the free Corsair forums account and there are hundreds of custom profiles already set up by the user community. The CUE software allows you to create your own also. This is an excellent choice for any gamer but is also a well-rounded choice for someone who has to type a lot.
It is a bit on the expensive side for a keyboard but the build quality is much better than several of the competitors I tried. Time will tell if I made the right choice but so far I am impressed.

I already had a noisy Corsair Strafe and I like it so much that I wanted to add one for work. Well, I find the silent version on the endcap for $80 because the box was damaged. I'm on it like white on rice.
At the usual $120 these keyboards are wonderful. Great feedback and a pleasant feel. The backlighting effects are just gravy.
I highly recommend these. Now if only Corsair would make freaking left-handed mice.....

This mechanical keyboard feels and sounds great. I feel the lighting effects to be a nifty idea; however in real day to days use for a touch-typist, you will never notice the lighting on the keyboard as you will not be looking at it while you are using it. I guess the lighting effects are great for spectators and hunt and peck specialists. The main reason for my purchase was for having a good quality mechanical keyboard and this fits the bill.
