My kid was thrilled, lights up, the keys are raised, has a piece that goes on the front for a hand rest. Has various colors although we have yet to figure out how to accomplish programming

Quieter than your average Cherry Switch Keyboard

It's not as quiet as an Apple keyboard but it's not as loud as the usual Cherry Switch keyboard. It's has a very solid build and the keys respond to both light and heavy touch. The software for the lighting schemes takes a while to figure out but it's like anything these days-search online for a few minutes and you get your answers. Overall a great keyboard with proven switches and a solid build.

The benefits of a mechanical keyboard w/o clicks

If you like the reliability of a mechanical keyboard, but haven't gotten one because you don't like the clicky noise when used, this keyboard is ideal. The ability to create lighting schemes is icing on the cake! You can import many color profiles from the Corsair website, or create your own -- it's the coolest keyboard I've owned so far. ;)

Best Keyboard I’ve Ever Own

I have had a mx blue switch keyboard. While I love it, it was very loud that my friends could pick up the noise from my mic. This keyboard uses silent switches so they nonger have to hear me type while I game with them. Also some people just can’t stand the noise of blues or reds switches so this is an excellent compromise of a mechanical keyboard with silent typing.

Very comfortable to use for normal everyday computer usage. Of course the main reason to get this is for gaming which I love it for. It's very comfortable, responsive, and the keys are easy to press and for a mechanical keyboard it's very quiet. I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone that is looking for a mechanical keyboard but doesn't want something noisy.

I switched to corsair after I broke my Razer Blackwidow keyboard. This one is much quieter and still feels pretty nice to type on. I love the RGB lighting effects. And I love being able to program different colors when I want. It's a great keyboard.

I’m not a gamer myself but the boyfriend is and has another Corsair keyboard with the brown switches. He immediately installed the new keyboard upon opening it and loves it. He had me press the keys on both keyboards to feel how the new one has less resistance when pushing the keys and how quiet it is in comparison so I can attest to that as well

I enjoy using this keyboard even though I'm not much of a gamer. I type a lot for work and also write articles, so having an accurate keyboard with good tactile feedback is important to me. The colors and customizability are a bonus, which you pay a big premium for, but I think it's worth it.

Love the Corsair brand and most of their stuff are always great and never have failed on me. This keyboard is great and love how it has an extra USB port on the top for easy plugin. Also types nicely and responses really great and love how you can customize the RGB lighting on the board. I'll be purchasing another one for my wife's PC!

First gaming keyboard - Corsair vs. Razer

I am a 22 year old gamer female. I had never purchased specific gaming peripherals before - I have just used a regular keyboard because I am just a casual gamer.
With that being said, when I decided I wanted a new keyboard, I spent A LOT of time deciding what keyboard I should purchase (upwards of 6 hours over several weeks spent online, reading reviews and product features, as well as going into different electronics stores and trying out various keyboards in person multiple times).
I would say that I am picky despite being a casual gamer, but as most would agree, a keyboard is an essential and very personal piece of equipment, and I am also very intent on buying what I think is the best product for a good price.
Many people have told me that Razer is the way to go for gaming keyboards. They have solid products and the Razer Blackwidow Multi Chroma was the other keyboard I was debating on buying.
While the Corsair keyboard software is not as "broadcasted" as the Razer keyboard software, I think it's just as robust and customizable. Yes, the Corsair software is a little less "user-friendly" but you would have to be either incredibly impatient or a true idiot if you aren't able to figure it out - it's not that complicated. It might take you a few extra minutes to get comfortable and acquainted with the interface, but overall it's comparable to the Razer functions.
The cherry strafe silent keys are excellent - something I also looked into. My apartment has high ceilings and while the Razer felt incredibly comfortable and easy to type on, I was very worried about the volume and, let's face it, clunkiness of the keys that really clack when you type; in my experience, going to various stores and trying out different mechanical keyboards, I found that Razer is definitely one of the loudest, if not the loudest, mechanical keyboard. It can be a nice sound but I thought that it, personally, might get annoying, especially in my environment. The cherry strafe keys on the Corsair are not fully "silent" although it may be advertised as such. You still get some sound to your key strokes which is nice but definitely not at the obnoxious volume of the Razer.
Something I have to comment on is aesthetics. Razer has somewhat of a cleaner presentation than Corsair for several reasons: the font on the Razer products is personal preference. I think it's a hit or a miss: either you like it or you do not. I think it's an ugly font but the keys are much more settled/deeper into the keyboard than the Corsair keys which stick out. This makes the backlighting color features a little less clean on the Corsair, but better on the Razer.
I ended up buying this product because BestBuy was having a competitive sale going on. I figured I would purchase (knowing I had a 30 day return policy) and really use the keyboard for awhile to see if it was something I could get used to, enjoy, and that wouldn't get annoying. The quiet type keyboard was definitely a major selling point - and if you're looking into aesthetics and backlighting, don't let Corsair's low profile on backlighting trick you - there's just as many/most of the same backlighting options as the Razer software!
I hope this can help at least one person!

My sons and I love this keyboard. Great functionality, build quality and sound. The keys have a nice feel and WASD is easily swapped out for gaming keys. The RGB is a nice touch and goes well with our setup.

corsair has great keyboard but no documentation to show you how to use it. You can down load a 150 page document. very complicated. but don't read it. it's much eazier to use. save the default template before adding new templates. you can download more template from corsair.

I have used many different keyboards in the past and I have to say that so far this is my favorite. I've used others with Cherry MX switches and some with different types. The RGB color effects are also a huge plus, but the keyboard itself is great. These new Cherry MX Silent keys feel much like MX Reds, but are a bit quieter. The keyboard led's are very bright and vibrant and smoother than then K series keyboards I've used. At first I was held up by the plastic keyboard vs. Corsairs K series with the metal base, but that quickly went away right after hooking the keyboard up and using for a day. You won't regret this purchase and Corsair stuff is always top notch and a great company to deal with if you ever need assistance or RMA.

This is my first high end (for me) keyboard purchase. I recently purchased a new gaming rig and wanted a nice keyboard to replace the standard keyboard that came with my new rig. I chose this model for several reasons, specifically, a solid construction with multiple features.
Pros:
• Silent keystrokes, which I prefer however, not so silent or soft that you don’t feel a positive feedback when you depress the keys
• USB pass through
• Nice spacing on the keys, far enough apart that “fat finger” is not a concern
• Customizable back lighting and keys, with an onscreen application
• Wrist rest
• Solid construction and nice quality
Cons:
• No volume control knob/button or separate media controls. You have to use the “Function” (Fn) key along with the “F” keys.
• Single USB pass through. I use the current one for my Mouse but it would be nice to have an extra one.
Overall, I am very pleased with this keyboard. I actually purchased two other styles and ended up with this one. One last suggestion, shop and compare prices. I was surprised at how all over the board gaming keyboard prices varied across all the different retailers. I also saw Best Buy reduce this one by $20.00 right after I purchased it then up the price by more than $10.00 a week later from my original purchase price.
Thanks,

After using chicklet styled keyboards for so long, I decided to give mechanical a shot. This keyboard has impressed!! The LED light shine bright and vibrant, and the new red silent switches are a very nice touch. You get the click feel of the keyboard with Less of that annoying clicky sound. All and all, very nice keyboard!

I was not ready to drop some serious money on this type of keyboard and didn't see why the prices were so high...but this keyboard is definitely worth the price. I am not a serious gamer but I was wanting to get a mechanical keyboard. The lights and the keystroke feel on this keyboard is definitely worth the money. I was a mostly microsoft keyboard fan and not much of a gamer but this keyboard makes typing a different world. What I like most about this keyboard is that its quiet and has solid key clicks. What you type in registers super quick and you can button mash as much without jamming any keys. Definitely give this keyboard a try when you are shopping for a keyboard.

I've been using a mechanical keyboard for the past couple of years. I wish I had made the leap sooner! However, the major complaint I hear time and time again is just how noisy the clicky keys are! My wife couldn't stand being nearby when I was typing or gaming.
I finally picked this thing up this weekend and it's near silent! You can feel the tactile response, but there is hardly ANY audible output. It's like a whisper. For someone who uses their rig in a shared living space, this is highly recommended.
My only negative would be the CUE software required to manage the keyboard on PC. It feels less smooth and polished than Razer's Synapse softward. But I think it'll get there one day.
