I saw this in the discount bin and had to grab it. I h as ve seen it several times, but never in widescreen. When I first moved to LA 21 years ago, I replaced a friend in his old apartment. My new roommate is the actor in the opening interview with the amputated leg. Half of his screentime is lost in the pan and scan version. I'm glad to see the scene as intended. I cannot properly rate the film as I have a connection to it. But it is pretty well done. Denzel Washington is Denzel, plus good performances by the rest of the cast.

Six different stories that tied everything together! Meg Ryan was amazing in this character role after always doing Rom-Com. So many horrible entities that showed substance abuse playing a factor with the characters.

While Denzel already had his first Oscar before this movie came up, it's not mentioned among his other pre-Training Day flicks. I'll be the first to admit that I am a sucker for military dramas. I am also a very big Denzel Washington fan. Thus, for me anyway, this movie had it all.

Beautiful, gripping movie with a tragic but heroic war story set during Desert Storm. Denzel Washington plays a phenomenal character as a colonel determined to find out the truth.

Great movie. This was in one of those $4.99 bins and had a $4.99 sticker, however when we went o paid, ring up difference price. We purchased anyways.

Watched this years ago and it was just as well written and acted then and enjoyed. Not a dry eye

This movie is one of Meg Ryan's attempts to try to not be typecast as a rom-com only film star. She succeeds in not being bad, but is clearly out of her element in this. In contrast, Denzel Washington shines in this film as he does in almost every film.

Great war movie and story of a true hero. Meg Ryan is great as the heroine. Must see!!!
