I've always loved this series so when I saw it at best buy I snatched it up.

Amazing anime but be aware that despite being on blu-ray you won't get a 16/9 version of the show. This is 4/3 and it looks aweful on most modern TVs.

Im loving this anime the only thing Im disappointed about is that the case got damaged and broken the disc thing is never in place. Also no digital code.

My disks has scratchs on them. causing part to skip. didn't enjoy.

The product was packaged and sent out defective. Knowni have to wait to get a new printer from epson. Seeing how the product isn't available at any stores near me

First let's address the elephants in the room. 1. This is in 4:3 format, not 16:9. For those of you who are saying 'huh?', that means it's classic square television format, NOT in rectangular widescreen. It's not an anamorphic release. So you're going to have to hit H screen, or one of the wide settings to make the black bars on the sides go away on your HDTV. 2. There's no subtitles for the English version! Why did Funimation do this?! They're on the DVD release (which IS actually anamorphic, as well). The subtitles are there for the Japanese language version (in English), but not everybody likes subs over dubs, and I like to read what English actors are saying sometimes. 3. The audio is still atrocious. This seems to be a problem with Cowboy Bebop all around, but one minute the theme song Tank will be blaring a saxophone solo, and the next you've got your ear pressed against the speaker to hear what Spike or Faye are mumbling. In other words, you're going to have to play remote DJ if you want to understand everything that's going on. If you can live with these three faults (and they're pretty big faults), then Cowboy Bebop on Blu-ray is a great addition to your library. The palette is brighter, but mind you this series has a distinct tone. Faye's outfit will always be vermillion, not yellow, Spike's suit will always be midnight blue, not Navy, and Earth tones in this series will always push Utah levels of reds and oranges. The animation has little to no artifacting during action sequences a great improvement, the lines are much more distinct than what we're used to. The set comes on four discs which I love because that means less getting up, more binge watching. The Main Menu also doesn't have Tank blaring every time it comes on, unlike the DVD. But if you want the BETTER experience and can live with a dimmer color swatch, better subs, 6 discs instead of 4, Tank's bombastic whining, and all of the same extras, then I'd recommend the DVD over the Blu-ray. I never thought I'd say that, but the DVD is actually the better pull for this release.

Arguably one of the most influential and best anime series of all time, packed with action and exciting adventures for these misfit bounty hunters! Many of the reviews note the lack of subtitles, along with the viewing and audio formats being less than desirable, which one has to consider that it was produced back in 1998. I don't know how much extra work would have to go into converting everything to the latest and greatest, but I imagine its not a quick fix otherwise they probably would have done it. It probably requires lots of time and money to bring it all up to speed and get it to view and sound like some people are hoping. I kind of prefer that it looks a little dated which gives it more of a wild west intergalactic bounty hunter feel, and it looks great on Blu-Ray for the series being 20 years old at this point. And just turn up the volume a bit higher if you're having trouble hearing it... it could be worse. Regarding subtitles, I personally don't want to read them and would rather just focus on watching and listening as I don't speak or understand Japanese. Overall this is the best version available with a few minor things that could be improved upon, but probably won't get done any time soon. I'm just happy Blu-Ray is an option and highly recommend the series!

This Blu-ray set is indeed a complete package. There's quite a hefty amount of behind-the-scenes content for this series. There's a full-length documentary (around an hour long) regarding the localization of this series, in perspective of the English voice actors and directors. There's also separate little interview tidbits within every disk. There's also episode commentaries for select episodes, and I found those to be more casual than analytical. We see commentaries from both English localization and the original Japanese creators, which is neat. Aside from music videos and textless opening/endings, we also have "Dinner Aboard the Bebop", which is a quite lengthy conversation between the main English cast. This one was quite awkward, seeing them eat and talk, but it's a nice to see the voice actors' impressions of their profession and Cowboy Bebop.

The colour is great as is the sharpness, the only problem is that the sound is muted, either English or Japanese, they both needed to be turned way up, and the sound on the previews of the next episode were even more muted. How could they do such a good job on the picture and such a lousy job on the sound.

I used to love watching cowboy bebop back then on cartoon network when i was in my teens...now i'm in my early 30's and i love it it even more on blu ray! The picture and sound quality is great! I love the world of cowboy bebop and the story is fantastic! Buy it , you won't regret it!

I bought this as a gift for my husband, and he loves it. I get into anime only half as much as he does, but this is one I enjoy too. It is a great addition to the ever growing collection.
