I was eager to see a romantic comedy released by a major studio that focused solely on an ethnic group I hadnt really seen much of: Asians. This movie had laughs, epic sense of scope, drama, and plenty of heart tugs and feels! I saw this in theaters 3 or 4 times, taking people with me each time..and found myself crying or simply tearing up EVERYTIME. Highly reccommend and cant wait for the sequel!

Perhaps the most enjoyable movie of 2018 if you are looking for a well written comedy for couples night that deals with the Asian American experience. It is very well acted with an Oscar worthy supporting actor performance. The movie is set mostly in Singapore which looks lovely in 4K.

This is a feel good movie that we watch over and over. We do skip over the bachelor and bachelorette parties but the rest of the movie is fabulous. The story is great, the scenery in Singapore is amazing, and the music and the acting by even minor characters like Ollie and Peik Lin really adds to the movie. It is a fun movie and I highly recommend it.

Great comedy doesn't have to be raunchy! A fresh take on the often told story of a romantic relationship between people of different social and economic backgrounds that must navigate through a myriad of obstacles in order to survive. Much better than the average romantic comedy. Watch on your HD bigscreen TV, the visuals are gorgeous!

This is a great romantic feel good movie. It would be a good date night watch. You would also enjoy it as a chick flick with your friends. I loved it. The plot may be familiar, but still it is unique. The actors and actresses are outstanding in their roles. This is a must see.

Loved this movie in theaters and love being able to watch it whenever I want. I had read the books and really wanted the movie to live up to my expectations - IT DID!!!! As I was watching, I felt the book come alive! Great casting and great screenplay that stayed true to the original. Cannot wait for the next two in the trilogy!

This is an interesting movie. very enjoyable. I wish I was a rich as the people depicted in this movie, or even half as rich. don't know if it is an accurate depiction of people from Hong Kong, but it is believable. the story is great and the actors play their roles very well. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

A young woman is dropped into the melting pot of chinese high life, with the intrigue and one-upmanship that goes with obscene amounts of wealth. She must hold herself up and try to live up to her own level of civility, while also standing up to the biggest of all - her potential mother-in-law.

A funny rom com. It’s good story and has good acting. I can watch it over and over again. Highly recommend!

I generally enjoyed the story and also celebrated the Asian-themed movie making it into the mainstream US market. However, I found some parts of the story to have overplayed the Asian stereotype that isn't helpful in deconstructing the stereotypical images of Asians .

The 4K version of this movie is good. The characters are nearly spot on with the book. Plenty of crazy, plenty of rich and last but not least plenty of laughs. Amazing scenery and plot line in this move. Dramatic and romantic. Perfect movie for a night on the couch with popcorn!

This is one of my all- time favorites. Well written, well acted ,and the settings were breath taking. Makes me want to visit Asia.

A young woman’s aristocratic boyfriend invites her to his family’s home for a relatives wedding and she must meet his traditional mother. The movie is all about the fallout that comes from their meeting. A riveting game between youthful love and traditional duty plays out.

I am very glad I purchased this movie it was wonderful. This movie reminded me of the life that I am living now with my fiance. There were some challenges at the beginning but our love has been so strong for each other. Our relationship is still in excellent standing.

It's nice to see a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and just has fun with the storyline and acting. Great scenery and cinematography, nice music and romance. Something the whole family can enjoy, yet not really a "chic flick" Highly recommended!

Based on my opinion the film shows that every ethnic background their is prejudice. Rich and or middles class in this case. It showed how you can overcome the obstacles and standing up for oneself and the bond between the man and woman overcame the obstacles.

What a great cast! So many great personalities you can't help but love it!

Good representation of the book and a satisfying movie to watch. I was excited and animated to see the magnitude this movie had in culture. Overall I feel the movie was a great introduction into how a majority asian cast can have its own impact.

I had heard all the hype but this want on my “must see” list. Well, it turns out this should have been on my must see list. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire film. It was good story telling, great acting and beautiful scenery. Worth watching !
