    Great Speakers

I originally got these speakers as a christmas present for one of my friends. I soon realised that these speakers were a little bit too big for a laptop bag so I kept them for myself and bought her another set of portable laptop speakers. Anyways these speakers even though a little pricey are well worth it. I have only had these speakers hooked up for just a day but already I am loving them. Like I said the only drawbacks are the fact that the chord for me wasn't quite long enough for my intended layout of my desk. If you have a regular desk and not an L shaped desk then the chord is long enough. Also these speakers don't have a subwoofer, but they do have a small sub built in, this sub is alright, but it is not as great as if there was a dedicated subwoofer. Overall I would highly recommend this product for someone that doesn't need a sub but would like to have great sound and don't care about price.

    Excellent 2.0 Speakers

I wanted a pair of 2.0 speakers for my second computer and didn't want another subwoofer taking up floor space. I looked at all the ones on display and none of them impressed me. I almost went with the Bose until I read reviews on the auto-treble adjustment at high volumes. Also, the Bose didn't have tone controls on the speakers themselves. I've owned a pair of Cambridge Soundworks for the past 8 years and they still sound great. So I decided to try out the Creative T20s. At the time, the store didn't have any on display so I couldn't test them out. After some debate, I decided to buy them. I figured if I didn't like them, I could return them. After 4 months, they're still on my computer desk. I'm very impressed with these speakers. The T20's put out very good sound that fills the room and some tight bass for a pair of 2.0's. Of course the bass isn't as good as a subwoofer but if I wanted that, I'd have gotten 2.1's. The cost is on the high end but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended if you're looking for great sounding 2.0 speakers.

    great quality mid-tier speakers

These are great speakers. I'm continually impressed the quality and fullness of sound that come out of these relatively small desktop speakers. You'll want to make sure you have an HD certified chipset or sound card and the latest WHQL signed drivers. You'll also want to make sure that in Vista or Windows 7 you have these setup as full-range speakers in Playback Devices > Speakers > Configure Worth $100? Well, they are to me. Especially now that I have Blu-Ray going on my PC. With a high quality audio source, you'll definitely hear the quality in these speakers. You won't get 20Hz thump obviously, but you'll get some surprising bass.

    Better than Bose Companions

    Posted .

I had purchased Bose Companion speakers at the recommendation of a Best Buy salesperson. After listening to them on my iMac, they didn't sound any better than the speakers on the computer. I read the reviews of the T20's and they were on sale, so I decided to give them a try. They were only available on line, and much to my surprise, they were at my local store in two days. While I have tin ears, there is a clear distinction between tones in these speakers and the Bose. I had hoped to separate these speakers off of the desk, but the cord limitations prevent that. I do believe that further separation would only increase the quality. I don't normally write reviews, so I hope this helps someone.

    Great controls

Better than my Bose Companion because I can control the amount of bass and treble. Overall sound quality is very good, but not great. While my Bose had better overall sound, its drawback was that I could not increase or decrease bass or treble, depending on what is playing. The Creative GigaWorks looks terrific, with or without the mesh screen covers and the price was a little less than Bose.

I was looking for a new set of speakers for my home PC that provided good sound quality but didn't want to have the hassle of a subwoofer and multiple speakers. This two speaker setup delivers crisp sound and good bass without any messy wire management.

I had been hesitant to buy computer speakers and whenever I did buy I would normally return them because I wasn't satisfied. Well, these speakers are definitely keepers. I love the sound the give out, the bass and treble controls to kind of customize the sound to your needs.

Great speakers for home/office computer desk.

I searched the site (BB) for a day to find a highly rated speaker that would fit in my speaker compartments in my desk hutch, independent/ manual bass/ treble controls, with good bass sound w/o the clutter of a sub-woofer. My search ended with these! I installed them on a fri night and was up til 2 am jammin on you-tube. & they sound great, and improved some of the not so great source videos you may find. I did notice they do start to distort at higher volumes, but sitting at my desk I dont need all that volume. Lowering the bass/treb levels help. They also include a 3.5 mm head phone & aux pin jack on the front, that may come in handy for some. The set came with every thing I needed to set it up, nothing else to buy, the cords were ample length, the speakers are set up 28" apart with plenty of slack line. Setting them up was a no brainer~ great for beginers, all you need is a 3.5 mm head phone pin jack on your computer or gaming system & your all set! Creative brand is not well known, but they're going to give the competition a run for their money with these babies!

    Best Bang for your BUCK!

I HAVE TO SAY CREATIVE MAKES EXCELLENT PRODUCTS! IVE HAD THESE SPEAKERS NOW FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH MY PURCHASE. IF I WERE TO ADD SOMETHING IT WOULD BE A REMOTE CONTROL SO I COULD TURN IT OFF/ON OR ADJUST THE VOLUME FROM A DISTANCE. OTHER THAN THAT THESE SPEAKERS SOUND INCREDIBLE! THE CLARITY OF HIGHS/LOWS BLOW AWAY MY LOGITECH Z-5 SPEAKERS I PURCHASED FOR A HTPC. THE ONLY REASON I WENT WITH THE LOGITECH Z-5 SPEAKERS WAS BECAUSE OF THE REMOTE.... THE SOUND ISN'T AS RICH AS THE T20, NOT EVEN CLOSE! THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SPEAKERS ARE CHEAP AND MADE FROM QUALITY MATERIALS. SOUND CONTROLS ARE METAL AND THE SPEAKER HOUSING FEELS THICK AND HEAVY, SO ID SAY THEY ARE BUILT TO LAST! IF YOUR HUNTING FOR REALLY GOOD SPEAKERS STOP LOOKING, YOUR SEARCH IS OVER! ITS WORTH THE 99 BUCKS! IF CREATIVE EVER COMES OUT WITH ANOTHER PAIR SIMILAR TO THESE WITH A REMOTE, MY LOGITECH ARE GOING ON EBAY!

Well,i am a very happy camper with these speakers.I first bought the Bose Companion 2s,but had some complaints with them. There is a "white noise"when the source isnt playing, and they do not have a tweeter for highs like the T20s do.The T20s have much more detail than the Bose do and do not have the noise that the Bose do.I am very happy with the T20s and would buy again. The only draw back is you have to order online. They did only take 3 days to get to my house tho.Sound awesome and look great too.Think Creative fixed all the problems you might read in earlier reviews. The volume can be turned up all the way and sounds great, the power on/off is on the volume knob. They are a little taller than the Bose, but definitely better and worth every penny.

These speakers are a fantastic replacement for the speakers that came with my computer. I tried another brand's speakers and subwoofer, but all i got was BASS BASS BASS, even after i moved the subwoofer and adjusted my audio controls. I am totally pleased with the Gigaworks T20 speakers! The highs, midrange and lows all sound great. I can crank up the volume until the dog goes into hiding.

    Did not meet my expectations

I bought these with awareness of reviews that pointed out the poor midrange response, and hoped for the best because I did not want to spend over $100. After living with them a week and listening to many of my favorite rock and roll albums, the midrange is especially muddy and severely detracts from my enjoyment. I am giving up on getting satisfaction at a less than $100 price point. However, perception is subjective and your mileage may vary. The highs are very crisp and the units look fabulous on my desk. But they are going back to the store.

I bought these speakers partially because of the brand name and price and partially because of the reviews I read here at bestbuy.com. The internal sound on my small TV is garbage so I wanted to get a pair of desktop speakers (without subwoofer) as an alternative. I've been completely satisfied with the results. Full, clean audio. Great product.

Easy setup, I recommend keeping the treb and bass settings on the speaker in the mid range. Use itunes equliazer to adjust sound quality to your liking. Sounds great at all volume levels. Very happy with this purchase. Considering the T40's to replace my TV's 5.1 system.

    NOT WIRELESS!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My review is not based on the performance of the product, since I will be returning it. The "Specifications" section on this website for this product currently indicates that it's wireless and Bluetooth compatible. When I received the speakers, I found that they are not. I don't need super high-quality sound out of my computer for my purposes, but I was hoping to find wireless speakers to cut down on desktop clutter. If I have to have speakers with wires, my preference is to use cheaper speakers. That being said, many people rave about the sound in these speakers, so if I needed it for other purposes, they would probably be just fine.

    WOW! Very good speakers

These speakers are awesome! I use them with a Sony laptop primarily to listen to my I-Tunes library while working. I'm pretty picky about sound quality and wanted speakers that replicated vocals and instruments, as the artist intended. After much deliberaton, I made the right choice for me. I tried the Bose at first, but was not happy. To me, the sound seemed "manufactured" and fake. I wanted speakers that produced a warmer tone and precise instrument sound quality. I should mention that my taste include artists such as The Eagles, The Bee Gees, Rod Stewart and Bryan Adams, just to name a few. Each of these artists sounded unbelieveable good through these speakers. Also, the base is very balanced for my preference. However, if you prefer a heavy thump, you should defintely consider somethng else..perhaps the Klipsche THX 2.1. For me, I love the simplicity of not dealing with a seperate sub! The bright blue light problem is greatly deminished with the II series. It is no longer annoying at all. Also, I can crank the speakers all the way up with no crackling. These are not the loudest speakers, but are still way more than sufficient to fill my office.

    Good looks, mediocre sound quality.

Im 15 years old, and I got these for my PS3 so i could listen to some decent speakers, rather than the cheap ones on my Vizio TV. If I were to write this review in so many words i would say: "Good for games, Bad for music" and that pretty much sums it up. The mids and highs are all there, but the lows are kind of washed out and sound not all there. Bass is ok on these, if you turn it all the way up youll end up getting vibrations and what not and most likely blow out the speakers. These are good for the gamer who are looking to step up from mediocre TV speakers, but dont be blasting your dubstep, and rock and roll on these!! They cant take abuse! As far as aesthetics go, these look great with the shiny black, and tiny tiny blue paint flakes. The yellow cone looks nice as well. The base of these however tip over easy, even the slightest knock and these will tip completely on their side. Id recommend saving up some more pennies and dimes and get something from Klipsch or maybe some nice Logitechs, that come with a subwoofer. I will be returning these next week, and saving another 50 bucks to get the Klipsch 2.1's. THEY ARE AWESOME SOUNDING!!! BOTTOM LINE: If you need some speakers for occasional music use, and games, get these, youll be satisfied, but if you want speakers thatll last and sound great, look elsewhere from the Creative brand...

I bought these speakers to replace another set of Creative 2.1 speakers. I wanted to remove the spaghetti of wires and keep the desktop simple with a few wires. Actually, the sound so far sound better when I had a subwoofer.
