Buy SIM Card Kit and Prepaid Card in Store

I pre-ordered an unlocked GSM phone, a Cricket SIM activation kit, and a $50 prepaid card online to get a bundle discount on the phone and chose to pick up the SIM activation kit and prepaid card in store. Went to Best Buy and gave them my order receipt. The cards they tried would not activate. It turns out that the Kit and prepaid card purchased online and picked up in store could not be activated. They cancelled that part of my online order for me and resold me the same things at the store. The SIM kit and prepaid card could then be activated. When I received the phone it was at the correct bundled price. I set up my new account with Cricket and transferred my phone number from another carrier after chatting with and calling Cricket without any major issues. Hold times on a Saturday morning was short and I am happy with Crickets customer service. Transferring a number takes place as part of the activation process. Some information I gave them for the transfer was incorrect and they emailed me immediately. Once I submitted the correct information, the transfer request and confirmation was completed online in about a minute. The transfer of my number was estimated to be fully complete in a few hours. Working well so far!

    Sim kit

I picked up one of these Sim kits at Best buy for my girlfriend. It was very easy to activate her unlocked iPhone. Cricket service is great. But I've found that Att prepaid service seems better in the rural area we live in. The only complaint is the price for this kit. Most other carriers sell their kits a little cheaper.

Been with Cricket for a while, loving it every day

We switched to Cricket from Sprint last year around this time and have had no problems. Before with Sprint, it seemed like we had to call in every month because of a problem with the bill or some other little issue. I'm sure it wasn't every month, and they always took care of it, but still it was an annoyance. Since we've moved to Cricket, we've only had to call in ONCE - and that was because we needed to make a change to our plan and couldn't get the website to work. They took care of it quickly. It was a great experience. Only downside to Cricket for us is there is no international roaming. Sprint would give us free (but slow) international data when overseas. With Cricket, you don't get anything - not even the option to roam and pay extra. I would love to see Cricket offer this at some point in the future.

    Can't be activated - don't buy online

I tried to active the SIM and get a "We can't set up the SIM card associated with that ICCID number" error Seems it's a regular issues for Cricket Sims ordered online from best buy (mine came with a phone). Frustrating, makes the included sim useless unless you're willing to go through the hassle of going to the store, trying to switch to a new sim and have them activate it in store..

    Won't activate

Wish I'd read the other reviews before purchasing. As others mention, can't get the SIM card purchased online to activate service. Chat support for Cricket was no help whatsoever, which doesn't engender a lot of faith in Cricket as a phone service in general. I'd suggest going with a different company or purchasing the SIM card elsewhere so as not to risk the hassle.

    Too much of a hassle

I bought this online with a Samsung Galaxy S8 as part of a special offer - Buy a Cricket Wireless SIM card and a refill card, and get $50 off the phone. It more or less made the SIM card and refill card free with the phone. The first SIM card I was sent wouldn't activate, and gave me this error when I tried: "The SIM you have provided is already associated with another order. Please provide an unused SIM." I talked to Cricket's support and Best Buy's support, and ended up getting a second SIM card reshipped by Best Buy. The second SIM card also wouldn't activate and gave the same error. As the card was basically free, I decided to give up on trying Cricket.
