Stunning! 4K UHD Steelbook packaging for a legendary film. I purchased this one solely based on the packaging; I had never seen the film before but I had heard of the director's work and I had been wanting to see it. Rather than stream it in HD, I truly wanted to experience the film in 4K knowing that Studio Canal had put so much effort into the restoration, which they detail in a short special feature on the 4K disc in this set. I highly recommend this one for 4K fans, Steelbook collectors, and fans of the film.

Ran is one of the most viscerally impactful movies ever made; not just from the perspective of nuanced storytelling, but from how gorgeous Kurosawa's filmmaking is. The blocking, colors, vistas, and environment shine regardless of the transfer, but this fantastic release certainly does it justice. This transfer's look and feel absolutely floored me. Easily one of the best 4Ks I've ever bought.

Still my favorite Kurosawa, and the 4K restoration looks fantastic; contrast is surprisingly foggy in some sequences, but perhaps that was always the intent. Just for laughs, afterward I popped in my old Blu-ray copy for a quick scene comparison, and it's practically VHS quality next to this remaster.

Beautiful steelbook and film. But it's not a movie I would watch repeatedly that often so maybe I should have saved the money.

Despite being made before all the digital production details were available, the wonderful production design and cinematography are given a top notch transfer here, and the steelbook design is a quite happy bonus keepsake. Not for all tastes, but those who revere this film have good reason to celebrate this welcome release.

One of Akira Kurosawa's masterpieces. The plot is based on Shakespeare's King Lear. The movie is so colorful and overall it looks expensive in making this movie. Kurosawa is a perfectionist. Video and Audio qualities are excellent. He, like Stanley Kubrick, is a genius and a shining gem in the film industry.

This 4K offering of the film "Ran" is simply gorgeous. I knew it had been given a restoration and eagerly looked forward to this release. It has never looked better and I'm very pleased with this presentation. The Best Buy steelbook of this is the cherry on top. It's beautiful. Thank you Best Buy.

A stunning film through and through. It looks absolutely amazing and the best it's ever looked, on 4K UHD. The Steelbook design is very nice and I'm glad I was able to get a copy. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up today if you're fan of Kurosawa or classic films in general.

The artwork on this steelbook is stellar. I blind bought this movie just because of the package design and it was worth it for that. The picture and audio quality of the UHD disc is excellent. The movie itself is pretty good, not great.

Who would have thought that this classic would get the steelbook and 4K treatment? Well it did! And if you can find it, it must be in your collection. Great package all around! Fantastic audio and video with extras. Highly recommended!

Epic film from the great Kurosawa. Totally absorbing story with tremendous visuals. Great music score. The steelbook artwork with the slipcover effect is just gorgeous. It was out of stock for a long time then came back.

If you can get past reading subtitles it is a great movie about family betrayal, insanity, and so forth. Lot of these movies have a grand feeling that modern movies are missing. Def a recommendation to any foreign film enthusiast

Amazing movie, amazing transfer, amazing steelbook. This movie is a classic and it has, never looked better. Colors are vibrant, contrast is amazing, and the sound is perfect. Don't skip this one. Worth the money and then some.
