I read the review very carefully before buying. I love the case as it helps with transportation. However it did not work well at all. The volume was ok at best. And the sound quality had a lot to be desired. I ended up returning it and purchasing the audiotechna and could not have been happier.

It may look classy and retro and even serves as a conversation piece but the quality is poor. Largely because it does not have a built in pre-amp which means to truly enjoy the best sound it is necessary to hook it up to an audio receiver that has a phono input. Otherwise you'll be cranking up your volume to the max only to get minimal audio satisfaction. There are some pre-amp amplifiers (such as the PYLE PRO PP999 phono pre-amp) you can use to bridge the turntable to a stereo system that does not have a phono function but that is just added equipment needed. It does come with a pair of built in speakers and they too are weak. A lot of laptop computers have way better sound then these. The tone arm is not automatic and there is no place inside to store the electrical adapter. A lot of it feels flimsy. If you are new to vinyl I suggest you spend a little more and invest in a quality turntable because eventually you'll want to upgrade.

Good player with not so good speakers

This is certainly a good record player. Works fine, looks fine. There is just one problem though - its speakers. It does have speakers, but you will definitely need to have your own external speakers if you'd like to hear some quality sound. Sound quality is worse than acceptable without external speakers.

My teenage daughter preferred this all-in-one over others, because of its retro look.

It's pretty basic. Good for someone interested in listening to records without spending a lot of money.

Upon receiving the turntable wouldn't turn, then I noticed a piece of wood wedged under the turntable...I tried to remove it but it fell into the electrical parts below. Daughter used it only a few times as she didn't have but one album, and then the on/off power button quit working. (quit clicking) I called the company and they would fix it but required $20 shipping and handling AFTER I spent the money shipping it back to them. It only cost like $50 so I'm stuck with a broken, but cute turntable.
