Microns Crucial is minimalist and I like it

I’m a hobbyist computer tech and have recovered data from malfunctioning external enclosures. I like Micron’s hardware interface because it complies to the SATA standard and doesn’t build proprietary connectors into the product. I also like Micron because the software configuration is relatively minimalist and doesn’t force proprietary software to be installed on the operating system. For this specific purchase, I had to ask a technically savvy housemate to format a partition using Windows Device Manager because the product would not be recognized by my motherboard out of the box. Overall, I like the product and will be using Micron’s Crucial for my data storage needs in the future.

A pretty good sata ssd

Still good price per gb but as price on m.2 nvme drives drops with faster speeds and comparable storage space it’ll soon be hard to choose this over them other than if you use up all your m.2 slots since sata ports still has more of them on motherboards right now. Nowhere near PCIe 4 m.2 drives but good enough to handle file transfers that will take a whole lot longer on a spinning hard drive.
