Way faster than I could ever need

This easily maxes out my current PCIe 3.0 slot, and is already more than enough for anything I can think of doing. Then, it will get even faster next year when I upgrade my cpu and motherboard! Why it's not 5 stars: No software for cloning the OS over. My last SSD was a Samsung, and they have really good software included to transfer everything over. I used Clonezilla, which worked, but it was a much more frustrating experience. If you don't mind that part, then 5 stars.

QLC +2400BPS transfer makes this a low-end performer. I just needed some storage for video file editing. Read speeds are decent, so once files are on the drive, they can be read to memory quickly. The bad, which is why it is 4 stars: Beware of large file transfers, as the buffer fills up quickly, and slows down to almost nothing.

No having an HD removes a lot of clutter and cables which really cleans up the case. Very fast, but going from an HD to an SSD, is like day and night.

To give an idea of the load it's being put through, I am in the process of seeding a database with almost 1 billion records. This has really cut down the processing time (I was previous using an external drive). It was easy to install and of course, Crucial is known for making quality products. I'm extremely happy with

Using the software that it said to download, he was able to copy everything over to the new SSD. Extra storage, seems to boot faster too, even though it isn’t the boot device.
