Nothing fancy but works great. Make sure you freeze the bowl long enough and it will churn out some ice cream quickly.
The included recipe book has some great flavors to get started. I like this better than the ninja creami because you can freeze the ice cream and not have to put it through the machine over and over again.

My 7-year-old daughter asked for a toy ice cream maker for Christmas, but I wanted to get something that she wouldn't outgrow, or at the very least, I could use it. We used it for the first time last night and decided to start with the simple vanilla recipe in the booklet included with the unit. I had placed the freezer bowl inside the small deep freezer in our garage for just over 24 hours. According to the recipe instructions, the ingredients should be mixed and chilled in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before pouring them into the ice cream maker. I didn't realize that before hand, and my daughter was so anxious to get the process going that I didn't have 1-2 hours to wait. Instead, I mixed the ingredients in a medium stainless steel bowl, using unsweetened vanilla almond milk instead of whole milk, covered it with plastic wrap, and placed it in the freezer for about 15 minutes. The machine was super simple to put together. I removed my bowl from the freezer, turned on the unit, and poured the liquid mixture into the ice cream maker. To me, the ice cream maker was not excessively noisy. It was a heck of a lot quieter than the blender my husband uses everyday to make protein shakes. Every couple of minutes, I had to check to see how my ice cream was coming along. Within the first 3 minutes, I could see the mixture beginning to thicken. After 20 minutes, it was done! While it took a bit more effort to remove the ice cream from the walls of the freezer bowl than from the center, it was very easy to do so with a silicone spatula. I was amazed by how thick the ice cream actually was, but I wanted to freeze it to get closer to the consistency of hand-dipped ice cream. The ice cream filled a 32 ounce freezer safe bowl, and left a few spoonfuls for sampling. I can't even explain how fresh and delicious it tasted! My daughter was quite pleased also, and even my husband, who is reluctant to try new foods, marveled at how good the ice cream was. I am so excited about "my daughter's Christmas gift" and can't wait to try new flavors and use the new waffle cone maker and sundae toppings that were a part of "her" gift!

So far we’ve made 4 or 5 different batches of ice cream. Each time its come out perfect. The only con’s i can think of would be finding space in the freezer to place the tub amd the plastic churning blade. I can see the thin plastic breaking over time but over all at this oroce point it is worth it.

I haven't been able to eat ice cream for 30+ years so I decided to try to make a non-dairy ice cream. The first batch did not turn out well but the machine worked perfectly. The second batch was outstanding, better than what I could buy in a grocery store or ice cream store. The machine is very easy to use. It makes the ice cream in about 20 minutes. This was a great purchase.

This ice cream maker works perfectly. I bought it to make lucuma ice cream which you can’t find in the States and it turned out just like the kind in Perú. The first time I made it I used an online recipe and unbeknownst to me it made a little more than the bowl max and there was some overflow once it began churning. I panicked at first thinking it would be a nightmare to clean up but it was pleasantly the easiest task. This machine comes with its own recipe booklet so I would recommend using that first and then incorporating your own ingredients from that base. One thing that I wasn’t expecting is that they recommend storing the churning bowl in the freezer when not in use so that took up needed space in my freezer. Overall, no complaints.

This simple, easy to use (it's just a single speed electric motor, after all!!!) kitchen appliance is the cat's meow for producing the most delicious frozen yogurt you've ever tasted. Why? Because you have total control over the ingredients and process of preparation. Use full fat yogurt (5% milkfat) and ONLY premium quality (NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP) fruit preserves! If you don't want to have a rock solid frozen yogurt iceberg, only place the bowl in the freezer for six or seven hours instead of the recommended 18-24 hours, and it will come out at a nice, even, smooth consistency. Experiment with cutting up small, fresh pieces of organic fruit while you're adding the yogurt to the mixture. We've not tried making ice cream or sorbet yet.

Fantastic ice cream maker! You will have a difficult time eating regular store bought ice cream, after you taste your own homemade ice cream. It is simple and easy to use and clean up is a breeze. Highly recommend.

Easy to use; freezes firm in 15 minutes; a bit noisy but not as bad as machine it is replacing. Cleans up easily (I have only hand washed it.)

I read many reviews before I bought it and my one concern was the noise. The noise wasn't as bad as I expected. The ice cream itself is easy to make and taste great. we use a couple times a week. Clean up is easy with hot water although drying the container is a little tricky because the towel sticks to the frozen inside of the container. We keep the container on a shelf in the freezer and can whip up a batch of ice cream in 20 minutes.

This is simple to use and makes great treats where you know the ingredients (No Gum Gar, Corn Syrup, etc.) and it is quick. Best Buy shipment arrived quickly.

I have never had fresh HOME MADE ICE CREAM SO FAST EVER BEFORE THIS ! So very easy to use and clean up. If you keep the insert in your freezer you are just 15 minutes away from FRESH HOME MADE ICECREAM. YOU ALSO GET A GREAT CHOICE OF RECIPES

This little thing is great. It's just the right amount of ice cream for 2 or 3 people and it's done in no time! I seriously had soft serve ice cream in 15 minutes. Can't wait to try other recipes.

We love this ice cream machine. It is fun and easy to use. We substitute 2% mike instead of whipping cream due to the cost. It doesn't seem to take much away from the taste.
