We have been trying to make bread and having dismal results. So my wife and I decide to buy a bread maker instead. It is very easy to use and comes with some great recipes. The loaf shape is odd, but I understand that is the case for all bread makers. Remember to remove the paddle before cooking!

This is our fourth bread maker since 1995. They just get better and with more options. This one is working great.

    Think Twice

This is my second machine, after giving up on one of those yuppie "fast rise" machines. I thought "convection" was a good idea. Now after a month of learning and using this I can see that no matter if the dough is too wet or too dry the thin tiny pan clips do not hold the pan well during the long kneeding process. The pan will eventually jam, and the paddle goes round but th pan is off kilter. The machine must be paused and the pan taken out, and reset. But after my last loaf of standing there HOLDING THE PAN IN PLACE so it would kneed, I am looking for a new machine. Live and learn. :( Yes it is great to be able to take the paddle out and it is easy to clean. Program buttons easy to learn. But nothing is worth the pain of my bad shoulders, trying to hold the pan in for the machine! A friend told me her machine pan goes down, in and turns to lock. But the thin tiny clips AT THE TOP OF THE PAN EDGE is all that holds this pan in the machine!

    Dream Machine

After almost going blind researching bread machines, this is the one I finally chose. It has all the features I could every imagine needing. It turns out perfect bread every time. It is quiet (a drawback that most bread other machines have is that they are VERY noisy) and it doesn't have the vibration problems of other bread machines. I love the fact that it makes one pound loaves. This way, we can enjoy fresh bread every day. I set it before I go to work, and when I get home the bread is ready just as I finish cooking dinner. There is nothing like fresh baked bread to perk up even the simplest meal! This is one time it is best to go for the name brand. Cuisinart wrote the book on small kitchen appliances, and if you are serious about what you choose for your kitchen then this is a must have.

    Great Product

This is my first Cuisinart breakmaker, and I love it. I use it every other day or so and have had no problems whatsoever with it. It's very important to read the detailed instructions to ensure the bread turns out looking and tasting great. For example, I always check the outdoor humidity level before making bread -- if it's above 50% I add additional flour to keep the loaf from collapsing, as instructed in the book. There's an extensive selection of recipes for breads, including low-carb and gluten-free, as well as recipes for jams, preserves, chutneys and marmalade. It's easy to clean, looks great in my kitchen and makes bread better than the best restaurant bread I've ever eaten.

    Bread pan dislodges

I should have listened to the reviewers who said this before, but I didn't, because of the good reputation of the Cuisinart brand, which disappoints me very much. You have to babysit while kneading, because the bread pan dislodges every time. I cannot even think of just pressing the button and expecting to have a fresh baked bread in 3-4 hours - it would probably do something, but would have a chunk of dry flour and stuff, because the pan would have dislodged in the beginning of the kneading cycle. Unfortunately, I will be returning it tomorrow.

I needed a gluten free option and this one has it. So far, I have only made 1 loaf, but we all loved it. Even the Non-Gluten free family members. It's large, but they all seem to be sizeable. I like the stainless steel color, as well.

    Over the top

This model is fine if you really want your bread maker to make bread, i.e. from start to finish...you put stuff in and 4 hours later, out comes an oddly shaped loaf. I prefer to make dough with my breadmaker and then bake it in a standard loaf pan. The loaf comes out so much nicer, and a cheaper version of a bread maker without all the bells and whistles is perfect for the task.
