I use this to make music video to post on YouTube and it works great. The multi-cam designer part of the program is great I can use 4 different camera shots and mix them without any lose of timeline.

This editing software is a nice "entry level" suite to the craft. It has enough bells and whistles to confuse you every now and then, but is ultimately simple enough to use that you can feel like a pro movie editor in no time.

Not as easy to use as advertised. Trying to do simple video cropping and clipping and I still haven't figured out a quicker way of doing it. Also I want to do is make a basketball video Montage of my son's games and a video hi-light reel of his best stuff.

This program seems to be way more complicated that it should be. The manual is over 400 pages and it gets very confusing. This is not a product to use if you have no experience with editing and creating DVD programs. I decide it not for me.

Hi Everyone,
I have been a faithful follower of the CyberLink PowerDirector's program since I bought my 1st version (PD 12 Ultra) a few years ago. I have since gone thru both PD 12 and PD 13 and am getting ready to purchase the newest version called PD 14 Ultra.
Before becoming a PowerDirector user I was a user of another companies FLAGSHIP Video Editing program, you know, the one that sounds somewhat like something “houses made out of MUD” are called. I have to admit that while I liked ALL the powerful features this FLAGSHIP program offered, the two “Deal Breakers” were the $700.00-$1400.00 price tag (which I couldn't afford) and the EXTREMELY STEEP learning curve this program had. Just to give you an idea HOW STEEP the learning curve is on this program, some Colleges AND Universities teach courses on just how to use this program.
To get around this “Price Issue” I used a “BOOTLEG” copy of this software, but again I ran into the “LEARNING CURVE” problem which was just impossible to overcome. And then I bought PowerDirector 12 Ultra and was amazed at what it could do for me.
I have to admit that at the price they are selling this software for, I couldn't find ANY cheaper alternative ANYWHERE! And although it does take a little time to figure out HOW to do some things, there are TONS and TONS of helpful Video Tutorials on both YouTube and other places as well to help you figure out whatever you want to do. It has an EXTREMELY LARGE User base!
The other things I like about this program are that they:
1. Have the “LATEST” Patches and Fixes posted for this program (AND Previous Versions as well).
2. They have Tons And Tons of “FREE” Add-Ons AND Effects for it.
3. So far I have found OVER 130 “FREE” Tutorials (on YouTube) on this program and more are being added EVERY day!
4. So far, it does EVERYTHING I want it to do, or COULD want it to do AND even somethings I never even considered!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Would I buy this product for myself? I ALREADY DID AND WOULD AGAIN!
Would I recommend this product to others to buy? HECK YES!!!
Buy it, you won't be sorry you did. I know I'm not…
Hope this helps…
Joe...

"The Cyberlink Power Director System that I purchased worked fairly well until I updated my computer to Windows 10. Then, it suddenly decided to play dead. After numerous emails, their "technical support" people, were finally able to comprehend my explanation of the problem; clicking the import button crashes the program. At that point, they used their experience and expertise to outline a comprehensive, step by step procedure that would resolve the problem, "clear your computer's cache." Realizing that the battle had been lost, I responded to their survey that asked, 'how happy are you with our service?' by giving them the lowest rating allowed. Then, I uninstalled Cyberlink and unsubscribed from their newsletter. A few weeks later, they sent me a very informative email which stated that the version of Cyberlink I was using, might not be compatible with Windows 10. If this was the case, I should go online before the sale ends and order, at a ridiculously low price, the new and improved.... Really? Re-buy a product I already own? And, what happens when my computer's next update renders that version obsolete? Will I have to shell out even more money? I'm a high school graduate, so I didn't have to dwell on this for very long. Becoming entangled in that recurring nightmare was definitely not in my future. Especially since all the other apps on my computer have conformed quite nicely to Windows 10. AND, AT NO COST! If the procedure of adapting Cyberlink to a newer browser is too complicated for their IT people, I'm guessing the whole product is pretty chintzy. "

When I downloaded the product, I couldn't play my disc. The pop-up came that informed me I had one try. When I clicked Region 2, which is what my disc is, I got an incompatibility error message. I looked in the BluRay settings. No region is set. I wrote customer service. I was sent a text about how to change the region code. No one looked at the screen shots I had sent, nor did they read the text I wrote. I even cleaned-out my registry of all references to the product, and re-installed. Same problem. Sadly, it took a bad rating to get any response from customer service, and that was a copy and paste the wrong scripted help text.
Product is buggy. Customer service is atrocious.
