We live in Florida and during a thunder storm we had a brown out for a brief moment and didn't loose internet or cable.
I would recommend this to a friend

DO NOT BUY FROM CYBERPOWER if you value your equip

Ruined by TV. I had my TV plugged into a battery & power outlet and when my wall outlet had an incident where it arced, my TV sparked, smoked and stopped working. Fortunately I had other devices plugged into a different brand of UPS and all of those devices were fine. Cyberpower's support won't even let me file a claim as they only have a voicemail when calling, no response via email or their website.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
