Having had this computer for a few months, I think I am ready to objectively post this review. **Initial Specs** First of all, some comments on the parts chosen. My specific model came with: - a ZOTAC "Blower" RTX 2070 8GB, - a "CoolerOne" AM4 cooler (which isn't a name brand), - and 16GB GeIL Evo Potenza 2666MHz RAM, though in the store, I happened to view the same model of PC with the same advertised "16GB DDR4, 2070, Ryzen 7 2700X" spec list, but with: - a ZOTAC Mini 2070 (which has better thermals), - an AMD Stock cooler (which I will get to later), - and G.Skill RAM DIMMs. I had a positive expectation for the performance of the PC when I had purchased it, coming from an Intel i7 7700HQ with a GTX 1060 (laptop). However, due to the choice in components, I had some fairly severe issues. **Initial Performance and CPU Overheating** I like to play the new modern games like Tom Clancy's The Division 2, which this PC came with a code for but I had pre-ordered it so I already had the game prior, as well as some older games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. My performance was very good in these games, though the thermals were very worrying. The GPU fared pretty well only ever topping out at 80 Celsius, which can be toasty to some but is fairly safe. However, over time, my CPU would burn hotter and hotter, even playing simpler games such as Counter-Strike, and eventually shutting off entirely in the middle of a game due to overheating. The provided heatsink I received was the "CoolerOne" AM4 Cooler, which, with a quick Google search, provides no website, only an Amazon listing for the cooler, without any reviews or questions. The thermals with this heatsink were atrocious, and objectively underpowered for the Ryzen 7 2700X, a 105W TDP CPU. That cooler may have done *okay* for the 65W 2700 non-X or even the Ryzen 5 2600, but otherwise performed terribly. I ended up replacing this with an Arctic 34 eSports DUO with Arctic MX-4 thermal compound, and have never gone above 56 Celsius. Much better, but for $1400, I had expected a better thermal solution for this computer. **Fan Arrangement** Next, the fan arrangement. It comes with 3 RGB "CyberPowerPC" fans and a remote, which is nice, but all of the fan headers are plugged into a fan controller behind the motherboard, which means you can not control the speed of the fans. To make matters worse, both the fan in the rear and fans in the front were all facing outwards, which creates a negative air pressure inside of the computer case. This drastically decreases thermal performance, as well as draws dust into the computer through every crack possible, including the 140mm fan grate that is left completely open at the top of the case. I personally put a Noctua 140mm slim fan with a dust filter blowing *out* in there. I also strongly advise to those who wish to purchase this PC to flip your front fans so the sticker is facing inside, pulling air in the front. With this setup, and the proper CPU heatsink fan configuration, you can create a neutral air pressure, and a good air *flow* through the case, which is great for thermals. **RAM** I also went ahead and replaced the 16GB 2666MHz GeIL Evo Potenza RAM (not a no-name brand, but definitely not as reputable) with 32GB 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB, though if you intend to install new RAM modules to check your BIOS for the proper XMP profile to ensure you get the best performance out of your RAM. Without it, you may run at 2133MHz, which is much slower. Keep in mind this is not a complaint, I had no issues with the RAM, but for the work I do I required more RAM, and wanted a decent upgrade. **Storage** I honestly had no problems with the storage. Comes with a speedy 240GB SSD from Western Digital (WD Green SSD) and a hearty yet durable 2TB mechanical drive from Seagate (Seagate Barracuda), and I have yet to have any issues with either of them. I use the 2TB drive only for games, and the 240GB drive I plan on replacing with a 1TB M.2 SSD from Intel (Intel 660p) on Amazon since it's a steal at $94.99, but it gets the job done just fine and the boot time is very fast. **Final Thoughts** To be entirely honest, this isn't a terrible system. The part selection I happened to get by chance wasn't the best, and I hope others got better luck, but it's by no means inadequate. With 8 Cores and 16 Threads, 16GB of speedy DDR4 RAM, and an RTX-capable 2070, it's a fairly modest powerhouse. My only wish is that I could've gotten the thermal performance to match the actual performance of the system I paid so much for.

I got this for my son as a birthday gift last year. He always wanted a gaming pc. As a middle schooler, he wanted something to be able to handle war-thunder without it looking like a slideshow. This definitely hit the mark. Something that will last him for years. He don't care about the cool next gen features, as long as it has a smooth frame-rate (and this does at 1080p on whatever max level). This easily spits out 60+fps on his main two games, f1 2020 and wart-hunder. Even gears 5 runs without a hitch. Great purchase for anyone who wants to experience gaming on a PC. I am actually planning on purchasing one as my next personal PC.

    Great PC

I was going to build my own PC checking compatibility with pcpartpicker, but saw this and just couldn't beat the price (plus I had a 10% off coupon for my birthday). This thing is awesome for editing with Adobe apps! I'm also new to PC gaming as I've only ever used consoles but I decided to pickup a GPU intensive game like Assassins Creed Odyssey to see how well it would work and I am able to play in 4K with about 32 fps in the highest settings. In 1080p getting about 65 fps. This is really good for this game and I'm sure it would crank out more with lester settings. I can't wait to benchmark with other games. If you are on the verge, it is honestly a great PC for the price. Highly unlikely you'll be able to build it yourself for this price.

I’ve had this pc for roughly 4 months now and it is a an ok pc. Granted I play destiny 2 mostly and could play at max settings fairly easily out of the box. The problems I have with this pc is the case or came with. The motherboard. And the ram. So almost everything. The case is not set for air flow at all. I fact this case (the white one pictured as the clip art) is an AIO/water cooled case. You have two exhaust vents. One at the back and one on top. Your top vent can support a 140mm fan and the rear is a 120mm fan. The two fans that are placed towards the front of the case were initially set up as exhaust fans but flip them around and you have intake fans. However, due to their lack of control (apevia rgb fans are what came with mine and cyberpower used their same controller but slapped the cyberpower sticker over the apevia logo) you get minimal effectiveness out of the fans. You have minimal air flow coming from the side of the case that hides your cable management due to the space away from the vents and the low fan speed that you can’t control unless purchasing a new controller. The motherboard is a micro atx gigabyte ds3h board that is okay. The Ryzen 2700x depends on ram speed to be efficient and this board is capped to 2966 ddr4 and they provided me with 16gb 2666 ram out the box. Also. The WiFi card used requires the PCie slot to be stable. Not a big deal. It also needs a motherboard plug in to get power (unlike my newly upgraded fevia WiFi card). The problem with this setup is the only other slot for your WiFi cars with the gigabyte board is literally a centimeter away from the gpu fans. The board is just big enough it blocks 85% of one of two intake fans for the gpu. Making it completely useless for airflow. You get two system fan headers with the board so you don’t really have any option to add more fans to the case to optimize the terrible air flow you do have without using splitters Or a fan controller unit. By the way. Those of you wondering about the PSU it’s an all in one unit that I wouldn’t even bother having. I’ve upgraded quite a bit of things on my pc already and realize now I should have just built my own rig like I originally wanted to. The ram being a slower ram would cause map loading issues with destiny 2 (hence why I have 32gb 3200 ddr4 now) I also got rid of the garbage cpu cooler and went with a Noctua dh15 she fits perfectly by the way and went with a MSI B450 motherboard. But, I’d rather an AIO because the lack of air flow in the case. You have no front fans pushing the air towards the back of the case. No way to mount front fans without drilling into the case. The exhaust fans on the side blow air directly into the tempered glass and that’s it when you make them intake fans. All in all, get a water cooler for this pc. If you’re using it for average gaming it’s great. And do yourself a favor and change out the psu. I personally went with a EVGA supernova 850 g+. My 2700x runs like a top with a slight overclock to 4.15ghz. Never had any failures with the pc at any level even with the out of the box components. I just have a problem of not being able to leave stuff alone.

These are not built with consistent parts. If you want a cheap gaming computer, this is exactly what you are getting. Even after I water cooled it, it started shutting down from overheating. I added several case fans, doubled the memory and I have a fan pointed directly at the intake. I also have a ceiling fan running, and a floor fan pulling heat out of the room. I have 2 of these and with the large monitors the room heats up. All of the parts match stat wise but aren't the same parts. However the while the graphics cards look the same when I go to adjust the performance on them, they don't match. This was supposed to have 2 hard drives. One had a hybrid hard drive which they claimed was 2 hard drives. The other pc had the 2 separate hard drives. They really shouldn't even bother adding 256 boot drives in any computer. It it fills up fast. I had two 1TB SSD installed these computers. That works out a bit better.

    Powerful for years to come

    Posted .

Going to start by saying, before this journey I knew little about high-end PC gaming. I did a lot of research, benchmark comparison and pricing. I didn't need the absolute best rig you could buy, but I wanted something powerful that would play games for years to come in the $1200-$1500 price range. With the AMD Ryzen 7 2700x and GTX 2070 8GB you're set to play games on Ultra no problem. For this level of GPU/CPU/SSD, you cannot beat the price. I scoured amazon, best buy, custom from the manufacturer for a better setup for the money. I only found the same setup for $100 cheaper but it had a worse motherboard and the case on this is much nicer. Setup was a breeze, everything worked right out of the box. Turn it on, update drivers and install Windows updates and then you're ready to game. I've been gaming for a month, no problems. The case is simple, sleek and clean. Not too flashy, and the RGBs have many settings to customize to your liking. The only con that has been listed many times is that the setup does run hot. The only thing i'll be changing on this setup for a long time is swapping to a better cooling system. Aside from that, would definitely recommend!

We purchased this pc on Aug 30th. Set it up and had problems with the pc freezing day one. We made sure all components were properly secured just in case during shipping came loose. We even factory rest the computer after doing so. The system freezes so badly and we haven't even downloaded a single program. We are going to return this computer because it shouldn't have these kind of problems out the box. I'm just glad it happened before I invested too much time into it before i lost anything important. I would have expected this kind of craftsmanship out of a $300 computer not a $1200 one.

I use this station for video editing and wish it was a better buy. It’s less than two months and has given us trouble since day one out of the box. We called tech support and they helped us get it going, but it’s been giving so many problems. It randomly freezes up even when I’m editing something basic in Photoshop. The mouse and keyboard constantly stop working and force me to restart the whole station just so I can get back to work. Exporting and uploading is fine, it’s just these random freezes. At first I thought it was a ram compatibly issue, so I called tech support again. They told me to be sure all installed ram was the same frequency so I removed the pre-installed ram and kept my newer higher frequency ram. This helped the problem for a couple of days but now it’s back to acting up again. It freezes up and I’m afraid it’s a motherboard issue this time. I really want to give a great review for this computer, but I just can’t. Everything else works smoothly except for these freezes. I need my computer for my livelihood and I’m really worried that one day it’s just gonna crap out completely on me and I’ll be out of a job. Tech support says I’ll have to mail them the whole machine if I want them to fix it under the warranty. Just don’t buy it. Ugh!

The pc is strong overall, the components are great and it runs super smooth but a couple things here bother me. The HD is extremely slow for some reason, I’m not sure if I got a defected one or it’s just slow in general. It can’t keep up with the downloads I try to put on it. the second thing I’m not to happy about is the cheap motherboard this computer came with. It comes with 4 SATA ports with only 2 that are available to use because the other 2 are blocked by the graphics card.. seriously? 1500 dollars and you put a 70 dollar motherboard in the computer !

After plugging it in for the first time I got "select proper boot device" would restart and go into bios to see it couldn't see the ssd restart again it would find it I could play for a while and random times it after turning it off it wouldn't find the ssd after calling tech support they tell me best buy diagnostics dont do anything and just every part of this feels like a waste of my time and money rest assured I probably wont ever by one of there pcs again it was ok while it lasted i guess. If u want a PC that will work for five months and break down than this is the PC for you. Plus they said they would give me a new ssd but sending it out at my expenses and wont give me one until they recieve mine... Terrible Experience P.S dont call there customer service all they did was talk bad about best buy and tell me they cant do anything but put a ticket in

The cooler and motherboard are garbage.

    Posted .

This was built terrible, the ax370 m motherboard cannot keep the bridges cool, I stuck a server fan on it and it still wasent enough. This is at the default settings. So what happens is the mb gets to 113c and it starts shutting off cores and underclocks it to 3 ghz. If you for it to stay at above 3ghz it will shut the computer off. This is with a cosair water cooler, but it doesnt matter because the motherboard is garbage. The CPU doesnt go over 70. So better add 139 for a motherboard and 70 for a cooler, unless 3 ghz is ok for u. That server fan is massive btw it uses over 130 watts. There is 0 reason if u leave this at stock to have a 2700x, it could handle a 4 core ryzen. The power supply is great tho 600 watt gold. Ram is pretty good too easy to get it to 2666. The case was set up well.

I got this pc about a year ago and the performance gaming is great but The real problem is starting the computer up when I get home from school it will turn on but the most of the time it is just frozen on the windows screen and I can’t do anything but I would have to shut it off and then try again 5 minutes later and that works most of the time but about 8 months ago it totally stopped working and just showed a blue screen that just went in circles with me trying to figure out stuff and clicking on stuff I called support and everything but luckily I had a friend his dad knew a lot about computers and he had so take apart the computer and go through the power supply and Use all of different shortcuts to get it working again and sometimes about once a week it will just stop while I am watching YouTube or something and it gets annoying
