My home has been without air conditioner service for over 4 years. This is the third unit I have purchased; along with window units. This is the only unit where I can actually see a difference. It is easy to operate and it is a very nice unit.

This is my 2nd Danby, does a good job of cooling down the room you need to be in, saves money because you aren't cooling the entire house.

I have owned for a couple of months and works sofar without any problems. I only wish the remote wasn't so complicated.

Like previous reviewers, the unit is a little loud and the blue light is pretty bright but overall it is a good unit for the price and I have learned to live with the noise... I can actually sleep through the noise and bright light. We use the unit in our townhouse, top floor master bedroom which has 14 feet ceilings and it actually works better than our house unit in cooling the room. We did have to be a little inventive in cutting the window slider to fit the window. We used hedge cutters/shears or some garden/lawn tool which surprisingly worked out very well. We just had to shave like two or three inches for it to fit the bedroom window.

Living in the hot desert southwest, I have tried several portable air conditioners. The Danby is the perfect amount of quiet, as in you can sleep with it on in your bedroom. It also is super power efficient and keeps a nice size room cold. The most important thing is to vent it and insulate the hose. Get the hot air out. Keep the cool in.

The ac at the house that we're renting doesn't work upstairs (we can feel the ac downstairs, but not upstairs). Then our ac died completely so were were baking inside in the TX heat!! We've purchased a portable ac for the upstairs bc it's the hottest area in the house. You have to have it connected the the window and the hose at the back that releases the hvac water needs a big bucket (if you're going to leave it on overnight). It is loud at first bc we did place it in our room to keep us cool while we sleep. In the afternoon I usually turn it off until night time and it leaves the room smelling "muggy" even though the floor isn't wet. The vent is on the top, so you don't notice the room cooling down till a few minutes. I suggest you leave it running alone with the door closed, so that once you open it after a hot day you get hit with a cold room :D

I had never heard of the Danby brand before this purchase. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and how easy it is to use. I am using this for a 12" x 12" room and it works great.

This unit has helped get us through the hot months of the summer. Our home's air conditioning unit isn't quite big enough to cool our entire home efficiently, so our solution was to purchase this unit in order to cool our bedroom at night. The unit has both air conditioning and regular fan capabilities, as well as a dehumidifier, which we haven't tried yet. Apparently that feature will require us to empty a water collection tray when it fills up. The unit is a little noisy when on full blast, but nothing you can't sleep through. It seems to do a good job maintaining the temperature we have selected on the unit, and we actually end up adjusting our home's ac unit to not work as hard overnight for the rest of the house. We really haven't seen a noticeable increase on our utility bill either - the bill was just about the same as the previous month, when we did not have the unit yet.

Cools down my living room very quickly. Also seems to be great at being energy efficient; my electric bill was no where near what I thought it would be.

Bought this unit for my art studio. I did have to place a vent through my wall for the heat exhaust but that was a pretty easy fix, and there is an option to port it out a window. Blows very quietly compared to a window unit and blows very cold. Great buy!

I've had this AC unit for about a month now. It came in handy for the tail end of the California summer. If it's too hot though it takes a while for the unit to cool the room. Besides that, the AC unit does a pretty good job of cooling the room.

Little noisy inside room. My room is almost 10*10 feet but it cools very good. Portable and easy to install. I would recommend it. Good color. Blue light

It cools my living room in about 25-30 mins. If you have 2 of these AC's it should cool your whole apartment. The power button is located on the front of the ac unit. My son constantly turns it off and on. The light shines very bright too.

This is the second unit that I've purchased. Works great for a single room, and definitely cools the adjacent rooms a little too. Leaves the window space available for light to come in, and is easily removed and stored at the end of summer.

I've had this unit for just under two years. It decided to stop sending out cool air last week. Not really a good option for the long run, but when it was running correctly it put out a good amount of cold air.

I love this item. It's easy to install. Keeps the room nice and cool. The remote control makes it easier to change the settings. Definitely got my money's worth on this item.

I like that the fan speeds have noise reduction. The unit is made of hard plastic. Unfortunately, during transit, the side panel became detached. It looks like the screws used are too short to secure the panel doors.

This portable air conditioner is good but it's a bit loud especially when you put it in the bedroom and you're a light sleeper. When I received the product, it didn't come with the screws so I had to go to get them at hardware store cause the customer service at Bestbuy said they can't help me with this.

Our apartment doesn't have air conditioning aside from a window unit in the living room, so we purchased this to use in our bedroom at night. It keeps the room very cool and comfortable. I can't attest to the other features as we've only used the AC mode, but it works very well!

We were in the market for a good Air conditioner for our bonus room that gets really hot due to a window that allows constant direct sunlight in. Well it cools the room wonderfully and fast!! It's super comfortable and cool even in 90degree weather! Would absolutely recommend! Our power bill only went up $15 bucks a month and it's on constantly!
