    Not the right choice

I would not recommend this unit for someone who is looking to store more red wine vs white wine. The upper shelf only has room for 10-bottles of red. The lower temp guage will not go below 50-degrees so it does not suite itself to red wine. Also--The fridge is very loud.

    Nice style, Affordable, Great Warranty

This Unit is quite nice, and after reading other reviews I wanted to clarify some points. 1st, the shelves are adjustible and therefore can acomodate larger bottles should you desire. Also I have this unit installed under my counter (built in) and noise is not an issue, it is quiet and efficient. Other benefits are the stainless accents, dual lights, dual temp control for Red's and Whites, and adjustable door hinges to open from either direction. After doing much research and looking at other models, I have found this to be an affordable option with the features that match that of higher end models.

    It's just OK

I bought this thinking I would save 500 to 700 on a wine cooler and should have sprung for a few more bucks. You get what you pay for I guess. After about the fist 9 months the unit started to make a very loud fan noise and it was very noticeable. I would like to upgrade to a better unit but the spot I had built in my island for this is too small to fit any other. I think for the 300 bucks you pay for this unit it is a deal but if you are serious about wine and your appliances I would say upgrade to a better unit. If I can get another 2 years out of it I will be happy!! :)

    It does it's job

I found this cooler to be very functional, very good styling, and priced right. I do not have any problems with the noise, in fact, mine is completely silent. I have it mounted under my kitchen counter top and it fits just right. The only problem is that larger bottles of wine or champagne must be put on the top rack, but this is a minor inconvenience if you normally drink/store standard size bottles. I would recommend to others.

I received this as a Christmas gift. It is a ice little fridge. It does not allow for larger bottle storage, and has a limited capacity for the Reds (10 bottles). For the person trying to store a few bottles, this is a nice little unit that keeps the whites cold enough and protects the reds. I'd recommend this unit to soemone getting started with a small collection.

Perfect for the amateur wine connissour

I bought this for my husband for christmas. It is silent and freestanding. The temperature varies by about 2 degrees. It is nice looking, we keep it in our livingroom since our kitchen is not big enough...yet. It is not an eyesore. The only downside is it does not keep larger bottles of wine or champagne. It is great for a amateur wine connissour like my husband.

    Disappointed

This seemed to be an attractive unit and served my purpose of 'staging' wine to be drunk in the short term. Initially it worked fine, was reasonably quiet and served its purpose well. 4 months in however, the temps started fluctuating to the warm side. I'd set at the desired level and then within a week they were 5-8 degrees warmer. Now at 18 months, the fridge stays consistently at 66 deg and runs 24x7. Not much cooler than room temperature. I consider this a bad investment and a unit to be avoided.

This is a very nice looking wine cooler at a reasonable price. At first it was working fine and then after about 2 to 3 months it was all down hill. It kept running constantly yet not maintaining the proper temperature. It got louder as well. Service tech informed me that it was the condenser. DANBY did agree to replace the unit, rather to repair it, at no cost. We'll see how part-two turns out.

    DOES NOT LAST!!!

After 20 months, the wine cooler does not go below 55 degrees in either section. Additionally, the compressor seems to be running now 24/7. The sides of the unit are no longer warm, and therefore the sealed system is probably broken. Full warranty was only for first 18 months. Now, I have to bring it to a service station. This type of product should definitely last much longer than 20 months.

    Danby 30 bottle wine frig-OK

We like the looks and the unit's two sections which maintain very stable temperatures. It is very quiet. The reversible door is a good feature. Over two cases requires careful stowing, a little greater shelf height would be good. I bought the same unit for my parents, they love it, and keep it full.

Leaked all freon within 6 months

If the wine cooler would have not died after 6 months, it would have been a great deal. It looks cool and it did the job. Then it died. After 4 months of back-and-forth phone tag with the mfgr and local repair companies, it was declared irreparable. To this day, still dealing with trying to either get it replaced or my money back with Danby.

    I'm satisfied

I ordered this wine refrigerator just after Christmas as a gift to myself. So far so good. It holds the reds and whites within 1 - 2 degrees of my settings, and they both seem to be just fine for drinking. Due to the placement of the light fixtures, you cannot fit 30 bottles of wine in it, but even that's not much of an issue for me. I fill it as much as I can, and generally replace the bottles that are opened within a week or so. I've gotten many compliments on how nice it looks in the kitchen. I have not noticed any "noise" as other reviewers did. It's a good deal for the price. It does everything I want it to. It's a good buy and I recommend it.

    not worth the money

this cooler stopped cooling after a year and a half, although it was still running. danby said it was not rated for under counter installation and did not have the proper air circulation, although i have found nothing to that effect in their specs for this model or the literature that accompanied it. the warranty repair center listed in the manual said they were no longer on board with danby. when i called danby, i was told to pick the repair person of my choice. only one person in my population area of 75,000 would take it on. it is still in pieces in his shop because he says he is waiting for the schematics from danby. to be fair, i'm not sure this last part of the problem is due to danby, but it does show that it can be difficult to get repairs done on the unit.

    Looks nice

Looks nice and has a somewhat stable temperature... the lower "cold' part flunctuates between 43 and 39 dgrees... wine, beer, soda, etc always seems cold. I have to put many bottles in at an angle or sideways in order to get them to fit. There is NO WAY 30 bottles would ever fit in this unless they were all ice wine :)

    Failed after two years

After two years and 6 months the unit stopped cooling. Warranty over after two years, except for "sealed"components. The repair centers listed do not fix Danby any longer. Customer service got me to another repair guy that will cost me $90 just to look at it. If it is a "sealed" component issue then I only pay the $90, if it isnt I pay whatever it takes to get it fixed... the $300 price tag is not, in my case, worth the problems...
