The Peak of Nolan's Batman Trilogy

Nolan manages to get the most out of his actors in this one (Ledger won the Best Supporting Actor posthumously for his turn as the Joker but special mention must be made of Eckhart's unappreciated performance as Harvey Dent. What sets apart The Dark Knight (2008) from any ordinary comic book film is the fact that it's really a heist film at its core. Nolan litters the film with references to classics of the genre (William Fichtner has a cameo in the opening sequence which is a clear call back to Michael Mann's masterpiece Heat (1990). The 4k blu looks STUNNING, especially in the scenes that were filmed in IMAX. Definitely worth upgrading to the 4k blu if you already own the regular blu.
