Despite what critics seem to think, Days Gone hits it dead on the head. You play as Deacon St. John, a man who’s trying to find a reason to continue on in life despite losing his Wife, Sarah Whitaker before the apocalypse truly began. To survive this dynamic world that comes for you, you must be properly equipped and alert at all times. Maintaining your bike by collecting Scrap Metal and Gas may sometimes seem like a chore in the beginning, but that was deliberate as you’ll eventually upgrade your Bike and Weaponry as you progress. Collecting XP by defeating ‘Freakers’ and completing “Storylines” (story pathways that elaborate the world of Days Gone) will allow you to level up and use new skills, along with finding new Blueprints to craft new Weapons and Items. Riding through Oregon in Days Gone has never felt sweeter on the Motorcycle, the sound design and the environment really hit home here, outside of occasional technical issues (will be explained later). Oregon itself looks very beautiful in this game, you’ll be riding through Rainy and Snowy weather, and that only amplifies the beauty in this game! The music is very fitting and sincere, voice acting is top notch, and the character design/building is amazing to the core. I would say the game is around 30-40 hours long for the average player. Now for the bad, don’t worry it’s fairly small (but still very bad) The Technical issues, it’s suffers from these later on in the game, from Pop-In, Environments not fully rendering, long loading times, very terrible frame-rate dips that make the game BORDERLINE unplayable. Those reasons alone are enough to not buy the game. Overall I rate this game a 9.5/10 (If the technical issues were ironed out, which Bend Studio said they will fix them) however it sits at a 7.5 with its buggy mess right now. 2 whole points taken away from these issues, yikes, I know. Yet despite these issues, this is a beautiful game with heart poured into every aspect. Thank you for the Ride Bend Studio!

An Open World That Pulled Me In

Days Gone is an awesome Post apocalyptic third person open world action adventure game. Although at launch there were some speed bumps, Bend Studio stuck to their guns and I had a perfect experience without any technical issues. Don’t listen to the critics and give this game a shot. I am not a huge open world fan, but PlayStation Studios have been the ones to pull me in with great narratives and a straight up fun game and Days Gone is no exception roping me in to get the Platinum trophy. The crafting and character upgrades are fun, there’s a great variety of weapons, upgrading your bike is fun and exploring the world never gets old. The variety of enemies is good and it never gets old using the Freakers to take out the enemy camps. In short, I recommend this game to anyone who has interest in narrative and fun gameplay. Last item I’ll say is the collectors edition is well worth the money, the statue looks amazing on display and the little extras are great!

Have not played the game yet. The reviews online probably speak for themselves. But looks like a fun game nevertheless. The collectors edition is full of goodies and i think it was a good deal. Stickers, pins, statue, artbook, dlc and steelbook. Got this baby on sale too.

If you loved the last of us, then this game will really scratch that itch for you. Days Gone, despite average critical reviews is a 9.3/10 for me. I usually hate long games, but, this game does it so right. The story is so stupid good. The good: * hordes! 40 of em! * crafting menu * story * characters * that awesome bike * free dlc content post launch * shoulder switch * awesome guns * beautiful world * makes you feel for the characters * 40-60 hours to complete The bad: * trash human AI * there's some jank not unlike bethesda games * occasional death bugs (not for me personally) * encampment side missions were repetitive if played * Deacon wears an ugly outfit for a bit * filling up the bike gas tank can get old for some I would suggest to anyone who loves Sony first party games or any game with a story focus. Loved it!

The game is really good. It reminds me of the last of us based on the graphics but with a hint of state of decay 2. You’re in an open world map like state of decay and you have to search for gear that will get damaged as you use it like state of decay. The game wasn’t as polish as other Sony games are of the bat. But for minor bugs, the game is really fun. It immerses you into the world and keeps you wanting more of the next clue and cut scene.

Game is really fun not perfect and not as polished as say god of war but still really enjoyable. Statue was plastic to my disappointment not sure what there usually made of first time buying a collectors edition that came with one. Overall well worth the money the statue is my only gripe. Gameplay is nice and hordes as awesome very overwhelming when you first come across them.

Great for people that love open-world survival games. Thee story keeps you wanting more as you progress through it. The customization/crafting feature is great and you'll spend a good amount of time figuring out what you want to craft before a fight. I love the additional things that came with the game. I use the pins on my backpack!

Lots of goodies in this one. The statue is the key to it all, and it looks well against my other CEs. I like the attention to detail on the bike, and the other goodies (patch, soundtrack, art book) are all nice extras. PlayStation always seems to go the extra mile with their first party CEs and this one is no exception.

To me, this is one of the best PS4 exclusives from this console generation. It's a shame that it had such a rocky launch with so many complaints about glitches. I was one of the lucky few who had almost zero issues. The story is FANTASTIC. Some of it is a bit obvious and predictable, but there were 1 or two scenes where I was, "NO WAY!" Happy there. Voice acting was fantastic. I'm a big Sam Witwer fan. He does a good job as a protagonist. The supporting characters are just as good! Combat can be a little wonky, but once you get used to it, it's plenty fun. Motorcycle was fun to drive. Hordes were an absolute nightmare to fight and the challenge of it was very refreshing! Overall, you NEED to have internet access so you can have the game patched. PERIOD. If you can do this, you'll have so much fun with this game.

It's a good game. I can't give it 5 stars because some reasons. 1. The most important for me, it's the story... It's not great, it doesn't compare to others campaigns/story telling, like the last of us, dying light or other zombies/alike games. 2. It have bugs. The last patch was version 1.07 (after 5 updates, i think), and still buggy. I've had some different bugs. The most important for me, was the fact, I couldn't use 2 items (important items for stealth). To solve this I had to close the game, and load again. 3.- Load times. Long loading times. This affects the gameplay inmersion, the loading times occurs on weird moments, some times it makes sense, but many times the loading screen appear before/aftear a video secuence. Why I gave it 4 stars? I love survivals games. I think this is a good game. It have some crafting, little looting, you can customize the bike and upgrade it. The hords are great. And some game mechanics are well worked.

I am really loving Days Gone. It is such an immersive game with gorgeous graphics and fabulous sound. There are so many details in this game which I am still discovering which I haven't seen in a video game before and I have been playing video games for many decades. I have enjoyed the story and the adventure, journeying through this freaker infested land is really quite something. I have yet to grow tired of this game and I am many hours in. I am always hungry to play it, and I know I am onto a really good game if I feel this way. Top marks to Bend Studio who have lavished a lot of love on this game, and it can only get better with further updates to iron out some of the technical issues and future dlcs.

8 out of 10 I am not sure why people are rating this game so poorly having played a lot of open world games (most recently RDR2, Spider-Man) it is on par for this type of game. I do enjoy it and would say try it for yourself because some people are underrating the game. The Story is good so far, and I have not experienced any performance issue thus far. The negatives I would say is that the studio obviously doesn't really know the MC culture as I could see some story elements play out in a very different way. The second would be the lack of an Auto-Save, but it is easy enough to do.

I’ve seen a lot of the critics reviews and others and they don’t really make sense the game is so well put together and the story is definitely long and interesting, I like the the bike is basically an extension of yourself and you have to take care of it, the open world is beautiful and there is so much happening around you. The games mechanics are really good, honestly I would give the game 8/10

I was unsure about this game. It was hyped up and advertised a lot but I had my doubts. I went ahead and got it on release day and let me tell you, this game is amazing and well worth every penny. Graphics are sweet and sound effects are booming spot on. Lots of side missions and an awesome story line. If you like action packed fun shooting games.....I definitely recommend this!

This game is absolutely amazing!! The story is incredible, the gameplay is amazing, it has some of the best acting I've ever seen in a video game, and the campaign mode is long and rewarding! Perhaps the best part that I see very few people talking about is the soundtrack!!! If you're an audio person like me, you're going to love this game!

Days Gone puts Bend Studio once again on the map of all PlayStation gamers after many years of oblivion. While it doesn't deliver any meaningful innovations in terms of open world and gameplay mechanics, it's a fun game that sports gorgeous graphics and a surprisingly great story/cast of characters, easily paving the way for a sequel to the stories of Deacon 'the Drifter' St. John.
