    Solid DOA entry

Let’s get this out of the way, the game has ridiculous amounts of paid cosmetic DLC. If you’re a person who NEEDS to have every available piece of DLC for a game then you’re going to have a bad time. That being said I’ve been really enjoying this entry in the DOA franchise. It excels where it matters, the fighting, controls, and graphics are great. The story mode is typical DOA “so bad it’s good” fare. The quest mode is a fun way to learn various mechanics while trying different characters and unlocking items. There’s other modes as well but I’ve yet to check them out. Overall it’s a fun addition to the fighting game library and at ~$20 it’s definitely worth it.

The fighting system for the game is well designed with blocks, counters, and 3D playing field. The graphics are well designed. When you're playing with others, it is a fun game. When you try playing against the computer, it's AI cheats. You can tell at certain times that merely reacts to what you're doing to do a perfect block or counter against you. That aside, it is a well designed fighting system. The unlocks of costumes is quite annoying. Some shown are only available by purchase. I wish they'd just give you 2 or 3 to choose from and remove the rest. The fan service is just ruining a very good fighting game.

Ok so I bought this game played it. Story mode wise, it random and weird however entertaining and interesting. Not very linear and character development is OK at best. Now, as far as one on one fight, Fighting mechanic ism is good. I really really like long technical combos that this game has. I like the part where player can knock out the opponent enough to get them toss out to another environment. It really cool. Kinda remind me of how Mortal Kombat III had. Battle arenas are awesome too! Very diversified. Control and tutorial guide are simple and seamless for noob like me to understand. It keeps me going to want to fight more and it helps the fact that the progression rate is quick; not slow nor grindy. In addition, there are much more females characters than male characters. Still disappointed on the expensive DLC that would otherwise make the game so much better. I am completely new to Dead or Alive series and I give this game an 8/10 as B+. Definitely worth $14.99 versus $59.99. Yes there core fighter which is free to download but i wanted to see what in-game contents would I get versus the core edition. Interestingly, I have been enjoying this game more than what I did on Mortal Kombat 11 and I love Mortal Kombat series. Now if you would have asked me, a fan of fighting game on whether it worth owning, renting, or don’t touch at all, I definitely say, own it. $14.99. Can’t go wrong with this price point. I have GCU which brings down to $$11.99 AND I got $5 reward certificate to burn so $6.99 plus tax! DLC is NOT required to advance further into the game. Female characters are interesting to play unlike MK11 if I recall correctly, and I want a long technical combo, something I couldn’t do withMK11. And I want the gameplay to be less grindy as well so I am a happy camper of this game.

Feels more like an update to Dead Or Alive 5

As an avid Tekken and Soul Calibur player, Dead Or Alive has always been secondary to me...but I do enjoy checking in on the series. "Dead Or Alive 6" feels more like an expansion to DOA 5 at times, but there are a few new features to make note of: There are super meter combos now, and with that system comes powered-up parries, ect. In addition to the standard array of modes such as Arcade, Time Attack, and Survival, there is a story mode...it's segmented by long load times and doesn't accomplish much, though. New characters Diego and NiCO are welcome additions to the roster, but there should have been a few more new faces to separate the experience from previous entries in the DOA series. The graphics are a slight improvement over DOA 5. However, in 2019 I expect weightier, more realistic body movements from games like this. If you're a fan of the DOA series, you should still buy this entry. The standard full game without the season pass is acceptable for a fighting game, just don't buy into the ridiculous amount of DLC outfits on offer here (the season pass price is way overkill).

Been a fan of the franchise since DOA3. This release has fantastic graphics and smooth gameplay and sound. Unfortunately they took away tag play so only 2 players can play at time which is a huge let down. While the costumes are not fun trying to unlock, the game itself is fun and I have no problems with it.

I've always liked the unique take on fighting mechanics that the DOA series uses. However, this game's season pass is atrocious at 93$ and makes the product seem like a cash grab

This sixth installment in the series greatly improves over the last one. The game modes are a lot more fun this time and the graphics are fantastic, specially on the Xbox One X with native 4K and HDR. The game looks beautiful and it is fun to play. The only negative is the price of the DLC which has become typical for the franchise.

Definitely improved some of the fighting mechanics, but they way you have to go about getting extra costumes if you don’t buy them or the ultimate edition is a little ridiculous.

I really appreciate the mechanics in this series. As I have been a fan of this fighter and the Tekken series. This one has some good depth in gameplay, and the graphics are top notch. Stage design seems not that much different from DOA 5.

The Dead or Alive series has always been a good fighting series, but especially since 5 has had a lot of DLC content. To that point even the recent Street Fighter V has taken a page from that book with the game offering a range of base fighters, with a slew of DLC characters and more costumes than most would reasonably care to buy. Dead of Alive 6 plays well and offers a good range of arenas. While maybe not as robust as 5, there is still a lot of content to enjoy in this game.

If you're a fan of past Dead or Alive fighting games you'll enjoy this newest addition. It doesn't push the envelope and plays it safe as most of the gameplay and visuals are similar. Load times could be slightly better for a current gen console. Even on my XBOX ONE X. From my understanding this is the only version that offers HDR unlike the PS4 & PC versions. Online matches have been for the most part smooth and consistent. It included most modes from previous titles such as Time Attack, Score, Quest, Training, Arcade, & Online. The one feature missing is Tag Team matches. It's only 1 on 1 for whatever reasons this time around. It hasn't deterred me from playing and enjoying the game so far.

This game was pretty good. I like this series because of the fighting style, but that is the only reason I would recommend it. If you plan to get all of the DLC you won’t ever finish paying for it.

I didn't have incredibly high hopes for this one, but with GCU and 10.00 gift card I decided to give it a shot. I've been a fan of the series since the 2nd one, I feel 5 turned out decent overall, and I would rank this one above that. If you're a fan of the series, I definitely recommend it.

This game is fun, you can play with friend, family member or against the game, and online people I think. Different characters have different signature moves. Its fun because you don't know how good the other person your playing is.

I've been playing since day one on the PS1, and this game has come a long way, not everyone will be happy with the direction its gone without Itagaki but It still feels and looks great. Not sure I've got NINETY THREE DOLLARS for the season pass but I'll purchase some DLC down the line.
