To avoid spoilers, we'll just say that this 2 hour movie picks up 10 years from where the series ended [prematurely]. The major players are still the same - and the same actors - which makes this "wrap up" a must have for Deadwood fans. Plenty of plot twists, old rivalries and friendships continued and renewed, old characters return, dynamite-fu, Dan-fu, Woo-fu, Swine-fu, BULLOCK-FU. This is a great ending to a series that shouldn't have stopped when it did, even if there are some new questions posed and some lingering queries unanswered.

About ten years after the series ended, as the residents of Deadwood gather to commemorate Dakota's statehood in 1889, saloon owner Al Swearengen and Marshal Seth Bullock clash with Senator George Hearst when the senator makes an offer to Charlie Utter for his property claim. Charlie declines and the results are explosive. This was a brilliant and touching send off to a great series. Congratulations to HBO, the actors, crew and all involved for giving the fans the best send off anyone could expect and more. Don't miss it.

This 2019 feature film has all the characters of the original TV series working out their daily lives, while filling in and summarizing some of the plots that didn't get resolved in the final season. It also resurrects an old villain, who is the main antagonist, and whose presence becomes the main plot in this film. Will there be a loss of a main character? Watch and see for yourself. For the lovers of the original series this is a long awaited must!

As a big fan of the Deadwood series on HBO I was always disappointed that they never got a chance to have a final season to tie up all of the loose ends. Miraculously, a whopping 12 years later HBO brought back the writers and actors to create this movie to give fans the ending they craved. It's great to see all of the characters again and get the ending we all deserved. This finally completes my Deadwood collection. My only knocks would be that you have to re-watch the series to know what's going on and I wish there would have been a bit more action.

A project that most of the actors said would never happen, Deadwood: The Movie continues the story from the acclaimed HBO series--which was cancelled before it could end it's rough tale of real-life and fantasy gunslingers and ne'er-do-wells in the real city of Deadwood, South Dakota at the dawn of the 20th century. While this is not the "end" of the story, it is a much better conclusion than the one they had before.

When Deadwood aired on HBO I was hooked, I was so excited to see that the cast was back together and HBO was finishing the story of the town of Deadwood. What a fantastic Movie, If you like Westerns, if you like any of the cast, if you liked Deadwood when it first aired, you owe it to yourself to buy The Deadwood Movie. I kind of wish I had lived in that time period.

Deadwood is easily my favorite TV show. I, like many others, felt the sting of its abrupt cancellation. This show’s fans needed closure and that is exactly what show runner David Milch provided in this wonderful, last gallop through Deadwood. Although the it took over ten years, the show at last has a finale worthy of its legacy.

Deadwood The Movie is a great revisit of the original TV series, which ended too soon. And for those who haven't seen the TV series, The Movie pulls the essentials from the series to give a self contained experience. The Movie retains all the moral ambiguity that made the series so interesting.

For those who mourned the all too early passing of this stellar series, here we have an epilogue of sorts. We learn the fates of our favorite characters. A satisfying wrap for one of the best written and realized shows ever. Bitter sweet but true and consistent with the show's original style.

It was good to go back to Deadwood for a visit. I just got into the series as it was leaving when it originally aired so this movie was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend getting this if you dont have HBO, but if you do then you just might want to stream. Also if you like western type shows are movies then this is right up your alley.

Deadwood is an all time favorite of mind that had much too short a run on HBO. This movie not only puts a bow on the show but manages to bring back and involve almost every single character from the original. Well acted, exquisitely written and fun to boot.

Overall the movie is OK - especially if you were a fan on the HBO show Deadwood. Really enjoyed catching up on each of the series characters since the end of the series. Like other series which ended sooner then the fans wanted, does a nice job of wrapping things up that the series couldn't offer.

Deadwood's seasons one and two were well done. Season three lagged a bit and probably lead to the sudden stoppage of the series. This movie relates 90% to season three and has a good plot and keeps you interested. All of the old actors are back and it doesn't feel like 10+ years have passed us by.

My wife and I were able to see this movie in our local movie theater and were happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and really enjoyed watching it and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.

I’m so glad they made a movie to tie up loose ends when they stopped the series after 3 seasons. If you get a chance try to watch the series from the beginning. The movie will make more sense to the storyline.

If you were a Deadwood fan, this is an excellent storyline wrapup. They did a great job of putting a bowtie on all of the hanging plot twists after the show got cancelled. Redwood, R.I.P.

I enjoyed watching this movie very much. It was not the same old thing. I think the acting was great also. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a different type of movie.

GoT ends, Veep one ups that, but Deadwood gives the most satisfying end to a tremendous series. The extras are lacking, but the content of the feature is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I loved the series, so I'm glad that there was finally a conclusion after rumors about this circulated for YEARS! It was great that it picked up right in the middle of everyone's lives and didn't try to explain the past ten years.
