Works perfectly. Good game as I’ve played the PS4 version before. The PS5 version is also great if you want the full experience with more content, and if you have a PS5. Both versions are great. The story is alright while the gameplay’s good. Visuals and graphics are top-notch.

I never thought I'd ever get into a deep storytelling game about a porter who goes on a life-changing mission; an epic journey full of plot twists and intrigue, to connect a broken country together, and reestablish the United States for better or worse, but I was taken aback by the scope of realism that Hideo Kojima put into this game. And the most mind-boggling part is ... you have a newborn baby strapped to your chest the whole time! Whaaa?!
At first glance, you may think it's just a slow paced, boring fetch quest, from A to Z, making mindless deliveries to and from, but you'd be wrong because just about everything matters on your journey before you set off--carry weight, how the environment affects your abilities, your equipment, the enemies you might encounter, fatigue, and so much more.
It's definitely a stimulator of sorts, and once you're methodically taught the basics, the game leaves the rest to your own ingenunity to make it to your destination and back. The sheer amount of depth involved is what makes this game either grip you by your teeth or completely enrages you. Your worst enemy will either be bodies of water or mountains. Ha!
Most importantly, this is like a virtual game of FB, where the only interaction from other online players is hearing a distant echo, sharing what complications they've built that may assist or hinder your travels, but you honestly get engrossed in the game's culture of everyone working together tirelessly and daily to create a better world of tomorrow to make your lives easier mission to mission, and through much of your hard work you'll be given--literally--likes to boost your morale and motivation to keep playing the way you want.
Every little good deed you do, for the NPCs or others, you'll be rewarded material and items that you will inevitably need on this grand journey of exploration. Moreover, there is a grading system for how well deliveries are made based on your speed, cargo condition, quantity, distance traveled, and more.
This game becomes highly addictive! With amazing, realistic graphics, great acting from Norman Reedus, a very heartfelt musical score, and gameplay that is tailored to be persistent and fresh every time you enter the world of Death Stranding, you'll be engaged to the very end.
Without spoiling anything about the enemies you'll face in the game, let's just say there are very monstrous entities that come out during the rain that will make your skin crawl and fill your heart with dread. Paranornal experiences!
The only big downside to a game of this epic scale is that there is A LOT of necessary reading to draw you into the lore, to teach you how to play effectively to survive, and everything else in between. If you don't mind methodical games that require a fair amount of reading, a robust menu system with a steep learning curve, and things requiring checks and balances, then this game is for you.
I will say that this game took me literally two weeks to beat. It's that long of an expansive narrative that takes you into what feels like a deep movie trilogy.
This game is a blockbuster worth trying--and once you're hooked, you're in for the long haul.
Safe journeys! ✌️

This is my 2nd time buying the game as I had already 100% completed the original release on the PS4. This updated PS5 release has extra content, and I will absolutely be playing through it and 100% completing it again. Don't listen to the haters who call this "UPS/Walking Simulator"...yes there is a lot of traversal, a concept that exists in most large open world games. The story is very well written, and even just the music tracks alone are enough to make me love this game.
Hideo Kojima is by far one of the best game/story developers of his time. I cannot wait for the recently announced Death Stranding 2 to be released!

Awesome game if you like weird stories. Very strange and dark yet gripping. Can be boring for most people that just want to shoot stuff constantly. Lots of slow walking. Awesome storyline and visuals and gameplay if you want tactics and a break from constant button mashing though

It's weird but very interesting. The gameplay is fun and the story is very unique. I never got bored and some scenes still stick in my mind. The graphics are really good too, and sound design is excellent. Tons of great twists and plot moments

This game is criminally underrated. The gameplay loop is satisfying, the story is enthralling and the individual performances are so solid. Can’t wait for the sequel, highly recommend this one for anyone.

I’m a Kojima fan, and you can always count on him for an interesting gaming experience. The story is a unique one, the gameplay is, for the most part, chill. It looks beautiful and has an intuitive control scheme.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut on PS5 refines Kojima’s original vision with enhanced visuals, faster load times, DualSense features, and new content like missions, weapons, and traversal tools. It’s the best way to experience this unique, atmospheric journey, though its deliberate pacing and delivery gameplay loop remain divisive for some players.

One of these best games I’ve played in a long time. I’ve not gotten very far but that’s because I have a rage quit problem. I’ll jump back in from time to time when I can, graphics and amazing, storyline is solid.
