Bought the movie based on the glowing reviews of its Atmos track and was simply amazed by it. Movie itself it as alright and since it is based on actual events you already have an idea of what will happen so not much there. Visually the 4K version is excellent as well. Great colors and HDR content but audio is where it really shines. If you have an Atmos setup, I would HIGHLY recommend this as a demo disc. From helicopters flying above to spine tingling explosions, this disc has it all.

Perfect casting, especially John Malkovich, and fairly true to the article it was created from; Last Hours of Deepwater Horizon, published in 2010 by the New York Times. It accurately points the finger at British Petroleum for this country's worst environmental disaster.

Surprisingly, a movie about a semi-submersible, mobile, floating, dynamically positioned drilling rig (spoilers) exploding, is fast paced and action packed. Undoubtedly though, the main reason to own this film is for the mesmerizing and enthralling Dolby Atmos soundtrack. The sound is constantly bouncing around the room from start to finish. Highly recommend.

I guess my TV truly does a great job at pushing blu ray to 4K. I just purchased a 4K player and Deep Water Horizon in UHD. I believe that the picture was super played up by people I've talked to, because I did not notice a huge difference, but the difference in audio on my home theater was AMAZING. I was ducking in my chair, the dogs were going crazy, it was mayhem, but in a fun sense of the word. The sound and the movie itself are the reasons for the five stars, but that alone was enough to Love it.

Director Peter Berg seemingly loves telling true to life stories about extraordinary events. Deep water Horizon is a story needing to be exhumed and retold through the perspective of the lead character because it allows us to learn what truly happened that day when the largest oil spill to have happened in the Gulf Coast. All of this could have been avoided had safety been at the forefront, but today he we are learning from the mistakes of the past just as we always do. In 4K the movie looks great, not outstanding by any stretch of the imagination. I would recommend if it was slightly cheaper because $30 for this movie is a bit steep.

I remember when this event occurred and the resulting fallout. I feel that the movie was a very well done while based on true events. I found the portrayal of the BP execs to be fairly accurate, in that they considered themselves superior both intellectually and experience-wise to the workers that spend most of their lives doing the job. It is a shame that this incident could have been easily avoided by listening to the men that really knew what they were doing and possibly erring on the side of safety instead of the "bottom line" or "company line." There is enough action for those wanting it and insight into what really happened.

Most of have read about the oil well disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. This movie goes into detail of the struggles of the survivors and the ones that did not make it. It is one of those special movies that pulls you into the story. After seeing this movie, I really got a lot more respect for the people who went through this event. This is just a great movie that I will watch more than a few times. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic movie with a absolutely incredible UHD Blu-ray presentation. Its a great looking disc with above average picture and HDR quality. But the true joy of this disc is its Dolby Atmos soundtrack. It truly is a audiophile's dream come true. Every speaker in my 5.1.4 Atmos system was actively used through out the movie. If you have the proper audio setup, you owe it to yourself to experience this film.

Yet depressing as well when you remember this really happened. I enjoy Mark Wahlberg in almost everything he does, ditto with Kurt Russell, and John Malcovich makes an awesome bad guy as usual, um Rounders anyone? The highlight of the film is when the rig explodes. If you're not setup for ATMOS when watching this you need to be, it's as if the house is coming down around you. Enjoy!

Although this movie isnt HDR, the resolution is unbelievable! I recently purchased a Sony 65" XBR850E and an Xbox One X, so I figured I better snag a 4K copy of one of my favorite movies at the same time. I could hardly wait to get home to get it set up. 4K makes movies that much better. Next up is Lone Survivor, The Martian, Interstellar, American Sniper, and Patriot's Day!

Watched this a few days ago after I picked it up during Black Friday and man, it still holds up extremely well. The 4K transfer is phenomenal and the sound (especially if you have a surround sound) was robust

The 4K picture is so sharp it affects the realistic look of the fire aboard the rig. Other than that the picture quality is excellent as is the sound. A must own for enthusiasts of this type of action movie, Plus you cannot beat the Black Friday price of $9.99! Spoiler alert! Very emotional ending when the movie pays tribute to both those who survived and those who did not.

I remember watching that oil spill of the Gulf of Mexico a while back. Then this movie came out to shed light on the events of that day. If you have not seen this movie, pick it up. It is fast paced action and will keep you at the edge of your seat.

We all pretty much know the general story about the worst oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the loss of lives. However, this movie basically spells out, in greater detail, the events leading up to the disaster and then the utter CHAOS that transpired after the rig caught fire. I thought this was a well cast and well thought out movie. Very believable.

Yes this is a Great 4K Disc,Definitely Worth The BUY especially with The Visual Effects, Surround Sound, Acting and Storyline this Film should of definitely should have received Way more Oscar Nominations plus Don't get me started with Patriots Day not getting a single nomination.Peter Berg has Really Directed 2 Powerhouse Films in 2016.Buy this Film Now.

This movie depicts the absolutely horrifying events that resulted in the gulf spill. It is riveting how peter berg builds the tension and keeps building it until it literally blows up. Solid movie and great performances.

The HDR on this is very good and so is the Dolby Atmos track. The sound is very immersive in a home theater environment with objects flying all around and the ambient sounds giving you the feel of living inside the movie

I really cannot comment on the accuracy of this movie, but it is an excellent movie. There is not a slow minute in it. I especially like that since it was a horribly unnecessary incident, there is no attempt to justify.

Based on the real-life footage during the credits at the end, I have to assume that most of the film's character portrayals are accurate. Actors were cast well for their roles, and the film did an excellent job at making the viewer feel as though they were actually there as the events took place. Was a great view in 4K/HDR.

Excellent movie and story. Mark Wahlberg and the all star cast was fantastic. Very good story. It would have looked great in 4K but It was not available. Can’t wait to see the new movie coming soon.
