The design is sleek and clean. Initially my husband thought it was going to be a challenge to install and invited a friend over to help but after getting it up, my husband was convinced that it was the easiest thing to put up. The sound is great! And the image quality is really good. Very easy to install and access on my phone too. So good that I bought a second one.

This camera has excellent picture quality. There were some struggles getting one of them to work over wireless. I think it was a little out of range, so I ended up running an ethernet cable to it, and that solved the problem. The fact that it has a microphone so you can not only see, but also hear what is going on, is a great feature.

i purchased these to monitor my handicap mother. They are very clear and the built in microphone is definitely a plus. I can hear her at night if she calls me. The app is easy to install and use. Not to mentio. Their customer service is second to none.

I love this wifi camera. It is on a cheaper side (about $60 when on sale). No hidden fees, like ALL of these expensive wifi cameras have. All you need to run, is only a power wire. Video quality is very nice. Cellphone app works well is very easy to use.

This is just what we needed, a camera for our front door. My wife can see what's at the door without opening the door first. The camera sends pictures to her i-pad. No services needed. You buy the camera, set it up, no other cost.

This camara is perfect to keep an eye ony property from anywhere. It records and has sound. Hasn't let me down yet. Only thing is I wish it had speaker for me to speak thru or at least and alarm sound. But not a deal breaker

4 stars only because during the night, any type of rain or snow will start recording and give false positives. Other than that, very clear video and sound is amazing.

Defender Guard What’s in the box ————————— 1. Defender Guard 2k camera 2. Mounting screws 3. Power Cord 4. 16 GB Micro SD card Pros —— 1. IP67 Rated - can be submerged in 3ft water for upto 30 minutes, that good a weather resistance. 2. Excellent night vision 3. Very good resolution and wide angle camera. 4. Solid Mounting 5. 16GB micro SD card with rolling recording 6. No Monthly fees!! 7. Audio recording!!! Not a lot of cameras out there have it Cons —— 1. Its wired for power although its wireless for the wifi part 2. No LED light for lighting up the image 3. No siren (not a biggie) Review ——— SETUP Very easy, connect the power after mounting it on the wall outdoor and then download the defender app from the iOS/android store and then scan the QR code to recognize and setup the camera. The app will let you connect the camera to wifi. The camera can be used in tandem with 3 other cameras. One good feature similar to my blink camera is that you can define an area fo monitoring FEATURES Like I said earlier you can define an area for monitoring. It will send a notification when it senses motion, The best part is that, it does not need any shelter and can be installed outdoor. Note that this is a wired camera and hence a powerful camera with a wide angle of 123 degrees and hence you can capture a wide details. Hoover, there is no zoom if you wanted to zoom in on the subject .,.. The camera is IP67 rated and hence it can withstand rain and snow and still be functional without any flaws. There is audio in the video as well, not a lot of cameras have this feature and I liked the feature . Most importantly , there is no monthly fee like the Ring camera or anything that’s out there in the market, the camera record footage on a rolling basis on the included 16GB SD card. I was very pleased with the camera video and audio quality and surprisingly good night vision! At this price, I think its a steal, highly recommend!!

For a basic security camera this unit is a very good value. It was easy to setup and operate. For the most part I like the iphone app. The only hiccup I had was that the wi-fi strength test was indicating that the wi-fi was weak but the camera was working fine (this was after I added an extender because of the weak wi-fi indication). Since I have only had it a few weeks, I can't speak to the reliability but so far it is working fine.

I chose to mount this inside facing the front door. Needed to install on a side beam in the house and was able to position the camera side ways so installation position is very flexible. I have a phone with a very good camera, but, found the Defender app struggled to see the bar code on the camera. Then, for some reason, when the app found the camera, could not link it to the network...Hmmm. So, I took the camera and the phone right next to the router, Then was able complete set up. My router is higher end so I know it was not the issue and I know the camera only works with 2.4ghz. Once set up, I was able to place anywhere in the house and the camera reconnected with no issues. On a very positive note, the camera images and video are extremely HD clear. The Camera view angle is incredibly wide. The power cord is plenty long. I also like the fact that it includes an ethernet connection for direct wire if desired. Yes, WiFi or Ethernet. The app itself works good. I do like being able to zoom in real time and the SD card will come in handy.. You can also set up motion detection and receive alerts on your phone. Over All. A very functional camera packed into a budget price.

I had the opportunity to use this camera for more than 2 weeks now and have just one word to describe it: AWESOME! Really, that sums up all. We just bought a brand new home and security was our foremost concern. So when I saw this new camera from defender, I immediately grabbed it to give it a try. It already came with a 16 gb memory card which is sufficient enough for me but I may look into expanding that in future. The way our home is designed is a bit different. We have front door and then garage is on complete opposite side (back side) of the house. We have a ring door bell on front door, so we can see who's there but outside the garage, its just a regular door bell. My initial thought was to upgrade that to a ring bell as well but then I changed my mind and decided to install a security camera. Hence the reason I got this one. It came with a template for drilling the holes and an extension cable. I installed it above my garage. It can see to the end of the street probably 200 feet away with a moderate amount of clarity. I can see what the weather is doing, and anything up and down my driveway. Wireless works great with streaming. It is a true wireless where the only thing you need to do is power it. Then when I'm remote, I can have access to my cameras anywhere. Positioning the camera to point a certain was a bit of a pain. Definitely make sure of exactly how it is pointed before you mount it. If the neck of the camera were easy to change to any direction (could point left/right/up/down) without having the unmount it, that definitely would have been nice. It took us a couple of attempts to get it positioned exactly how we wanted it after seeing how the image looked at night, but required us to remount it since the neck position can't just be changed to any position once mounted. So my advice is take your time to decide exactly where and how you want to mount the camera. PROS: - High quality video with minimal delay. When viewing the live view in SD quality, the video has almost no delay and it has less than 1 second delay when in HD mode. Please note latency also depends on the quality of the network this IP camera connected to. - The night vision is also better than expected and the motion detector works very well so the camera only records when there is movement. - User friendly setup and fast customer support. I was trying to setup using wireless method first time and couldn't get it to work because my home network configuration is very complicated. I contacted Defender support and they helped me go through it easily. CONS: - The only problem that I faced was correctly mounting the camera in first attempt. Others may not face this issue, that's why I didn't deduct any star. All in all, this is a great camera and I would highly recommend it to anyone who's in the market to buy one.
