Quality is average not HD you cannot see night images at all just light

I like this camera for its speaker/intercom feature, motion detection and alert detection. However, every time something is not working like the monitor, there is a firmware update that I don’t know about until I call customer service. After one year of use, I got a warranty replacement since the camera stopped working. Once I got the replacement I had to update the firmware twice. The firmware can only be downloaded to a laptop/computer but not compatible with Apple Mac. So Suzanne the rep mails me the SD card with the 2 firmware updates twice. Due to the company not sending us any updates by email, I had to find out the firmware updates when I notice the monitor was not working after a few weeks. This could save me more time and frustration if they sent us emails. I lost about 3-4 weeks of use on this security camera since I had to wait for a replacement and wait for a first and second SD card. During my wait I had to buy another camera to be a back up. The only issue is the firmware upgrades that causes inconveniences and delays until I get a SD. The only reason why I stick to this camera is because Suzanne is very nice and helps me out. They ship the stuff from Canada so it takes 7 days.

it's overpriced and you cannot hook it up to your phone and you can't even hook it up to a bigger monitor for that price you should be able to shoot people with a laser LOL

I purchased this set on black Friday for my elderly father who lives alone and is in a power chair. He wanted something that would allow him to see when someone pulls into his driveway and also when someone approaches his doors. This set was perfect because he can relax and still easily monitor activity around his property which gives him comfort. While he loves the monitor, he said that he does wish we could purchase another monitor for him so that he could have one in his living area and also one next to his bed. Since the monitor has to be plugged in, it is not convenient to move when he goes to bed every night. There is an option to add 2 additional cameras but not an option to add another monitor, that I know of. My husband is a "techie" and was impressed with the clarity & quality of the camera's in the daytime and also the night vision, so that is saying something! The fact that there is also sound is just another added bonus. The system also came with four 3" X 2" stickers which read "WARNING-SECURITY SYSTEM- DEFENDER" which can be placed on doors and windows. All said, this system is quite the bang for your buck and we would certainly recommend it.

never work properly!!!!! cameras will stay in range for a few days then go out of range. who wants to continue to up on a ladder to try to work on new cameras. problem from day one. DO NOT BUY DEFENDER

Wifi signal interrupted by hacker neighbor constantly! Never got pictures of trespassers as she would block wifi so the next day when you review your recordings - nothing is there, but damage to property is real.

Camera's do not work during winter time in New England. I would not recommend to people in colder climates.

no antennas were found in the box..please send me them so i can finishe setting up the surveillance czmeras.

i like the intercom, night vision and motion sensors are nice also. i want 2 more cameras.

When it's dry the camera works great. Very clear picture. But after a heavy rain or when the humidity is high it fogs up badly. I took it apart and water just ran out. Dried it out the sealed all of the seems but humidity once again fogs up the lens. Never had that problem with a Uniden.

Quality: Picture quality is very poor even on a the small 7" monitor that was included. Very difficult to see anything more than 30 fee from the camera. Biggest problem: This is advertised as Indoor/Outdoor but if you visit the web site and read the manual (no manual is included with the unit) it specifically says NOT WATERPROOF and advises against placing the camera where it can be affected by weather (such as Rain and Snow). Don't see how that is outdoor if you can't place it where it can get wet. Would not recommend this.

For daytime or Nighttime viewing or daytime motion sensing the system is okay, not great but okay. But for security when you need it at night for motion sensing to pickup any 2 legged or 4 legged persons or animals the Defender Phoenix is totally useless, sent mine back to Defender and the replacement is just as bad. Customer service from Defender is also totally useless and their final comment is well return it to where you bought it. If you want and need security in the dark look elsewhere instead of Defender products. Their products and customer support is inferior.
