I purchased the CS8060HD center channel at the same time I purchased a pair of BP8060ST Bipolar Super Tower speakers, I auditioned a couple different center channels with three different sizes of super towers. With each combination, this particular speaker was the clear choice, based on it's clarity, power coming from that 150watt driver, and the wide dispersion characteristics I experienced with different DVD movies I tried. The voice channel in all of the movies I tried was much clearer, louder, and once I had them paired with the 8060 super towers, it was pure joy and I knew I had the winner. Once I got it set up at home, and ran the setup program with the new Onkyo amp I also purchased, I couldn't get the smile off of my face for two days. You can't go wrong with this center channel, but my only cautionary note would be to not use main speakers that are too small because there is a chance the center channel may seem overpowering in that scenario. Definitive Technology does it again!

The voice comes out crystal clear, the additional powered sub-woofer in the center speaker matches perfectly with the ST8060 main speakers I have. The only thing is that this center speaker is pretty big compared to others including the other definitive center speakers. Well forth the price.

To start I think it's a great idea to put a low end sub powered in a center. The thing is with this model depending on your room size the low end would sound much better in a cabinet space. Two inches or more would add more volume and i'm sure more center reference. If you don't it will still sound good but you will not get all the bang for your buck I think. The highs on this model are sharp and sometimes can be too sharp, you hear the whistle in peoples voices. It could just be the recording and the speaker 40khz capability? Also for me getting a reasonably priced surround sound speaker to match the center speaker is another problem since I have Martin Logan Theos stereo speakers. Like the center channel I want a full range surround sound speakers too. Martin Logans are too expensive for me also the definitive audio version that's closest to what I want is $350 each. Which to me is a little too expensive for a small enclosure and two six-inch wolfers. I'd rather buy the lowest end definitive audio floor stands speakers for probably less and use those for surround speakers.

Anchored, that's how I can best describe this center channel. Dialog is clear and clean. The internal sub helps to give the speaker a fuller sound, and can make a difference. The sub doesn't over power or add too much bass, as it is small, and not really meant for that purpose. I did have one issue with the amp or sub being defective on the first one that I received. It was immediately replaced and so far the second one has shown no issue.

I have this CC as part of my HT coupled with a pair of def tech 8060ST's in the front and a pair of SR8040-BP's in the rear. The dialogue in movies and tv is very clear and deep as the unit has a small built in powered sub. It seamlessly blends in with the entire HT. Bought it on sale from BB along with the 8060's and saved about 800.00. Great CC!

I returned the CS-8040 and upgraded to this. Great decision! This speaker is amazing. Very clear voices and great deep bass when needed for a movie scene. I also use this along with two BP-8060ST for music. This Center speaker sounds as good as a regular large speaker.

I am upgrading my home theater system, I picked up the tower definitive technology 8060 speakers and just had to have the center channel that matches. Glad I made the purchase. I've never heard voices sound so full and rich. Warning though this is a oversize center channel, you will definitely need about 23 to 24 inches wide and about 9 inches tall to fit in the cabinet. The 150 W subwoofer that is built-in really brings the center action to life. :-) if you can find one, pick it up it's definitely one of the most amazing center channels I've ever heard! :-)

This is worth every penny and then some even if you pay full price. I got mine on a huge discount. Like over 50% off but after listening to it. I would have paid full price. My movies came to life. Makes you want to watch movies over again. Voices are clearer. Men's voices are deeper. Action movies are so much better. Keep in mind I already had a great system so I thought. I have over $4000 into my surround system and this is what it was missing.

I have this unit in a full Definitive Technology speaker setup. This center channel defies what most center channels are. It has some serious capability with the integrated powered woofer compared to most. That does come at a size penalty though, it's quite large compared to most.

We upgraded this from a Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 and the sound this speaker produces is not even remotely on the same level. The soundstage was expanded 100 fold. Make sure you take into consideration your AVR will need a Center Speaker Pre-Out to take advantage of the powered driver in the unit. We are using a Denon AVR X3200W to drive this and when setting it up with Odyssey, it sees it as a full range speaker, which is huge!! One of the best center channel speakers on the market.

I was a little skeptical about what a subwoofer built into a center channel was really all about. After upgrading from a standard Center Channel also def tech, I decided to give it a shot when it went on sale. I was amazed at how much it brought out that Center channel that missing tone between the two speakers in the front. The subwoofer the subwoofer fires up and a port fires out the back. There's an adjustable level depending on your taste. Let's just say this Center Channel really gave Deadpool a great audio experience in home.

This 8060HD is awesome. Set the speaker size to large and it comes live with the sub-woofer. The frequency range is very good to handle all details without having to use crossover and diverting to Sub-Woofer.

Combined with a Denon AVR-X1200W, Definitive 8060s, surrounds and Samsung TV this center channel speaker is perfect.

Picked up the last one they had left at BestBuy! It sounds amazing! Competes in the upper end sounding!

I highly recommend this product. It works great with my 8060ST tower speakers. The system shakes my wifes pictures off the shelf upstairs.

Crisp, clean, center channel. Possibly enhanced in the new iteration, but my price was so good, I couldn't pass it up.

This center channel speaker has replaced and very large 6.5 x 2 center channel that was doing a great job, or so I thought. Everything I hear on the DefTec 8060 is just as my summery says "crisp and amazing". If you want to turn the bass gain up feel free to do so as it'll add the missing mid-tone that most male actors voices have. It worth the purchase if it's in your price range. This speaker is great. A huge improvement from my HTIB system. Love the fact I don't need a separate subwoofer.

I have all Deftech surround speakers. This center channel is super powerful!!!!! I can crank this on my Marantz Reciever with my BP-8060's and that center channel only get more clear with more volume. Amazing speaker. They don't sell the 80 Series anymore be sure to check out there 90 series, Amazing!
