All I can say is wow!!! Over the years I have purchased many different sound bars and thought each one was better than the last. Well I was wrong. Difinitive Technology is beyond the best soundbar the I ever purchased. The deep base is outstanding. When watching movies voices comes in clear and crisp. I love that it takes up such a small footprint. I'm glad I walked into Best Buy and with the advice from a Magnolia salesman and to give Difinitive Technology a try.

The housing market has me in an apartment until the market calms down. Installing my Vintage Altec Lansing or my DT Towers would be a waste. I need something smaller and I came across this set up. I am pleased! Sound quality great! Setup is a little confusing but I figured it out.

Absolutely excellent sound quality, the bass is house shaking. The amount of sound coning from this compact little soundbar insane!!! The only thing I didnt like were the lights in the back and in front of the soundbar get a little bright and you can see it on the tv but it’s not crazy noticeable. Overall I absolutely recommend this amazing soundbar :)

Excellent for voice, intesne bass the only warning i will give out. Be carefully what you watch and what brand of tv you have. Every channel or streaming app will have a different volume output so your going to find yourself playing with the volume button on your remote constantly.

Fine sound for the eyes. I am not huge fan of large speakers. I'm a firm believer in keeping it small but making it produce the loudest noise and this speaker is my gig for real. Fills the room, therapeutic to the ears simply amazing. My wife has never been a fan of sound systems but this one got her. Even my toddler loves it. I am a loyal fan of DT and will always be because they never fail to deliver. It's a quality cheaper option compared to other major brands like sonos which I like but the price point isn't realistic to my needs.

So I love def tech audio. They know what they are doing and when I saw that this soundbar was available I had to buy it. Now to the important part how does it sound? Well compared to my polk audio magnifi max Sr 5.1 soundbar, it definitely is more immersive and the sound is more full so u get that 3D surround sound without the use of rears. However, the vocals are not as clear as my polk due to lack of a center channel. That was my concern buying this soundbar. If the Def Tech had a center channel or was a 5.1 to take advantage of the clarity of the vocals I'd be more happier. Now I'm torn do I want more bass and 3D sound or more clarity in voices and still good enough bass I.E the polk. So who is this sound bar for? Well if you don't currently have a sound bar or have an entry level sound bar like a 2.1 or 3.1 then get this you'll be truly amazed. If you are super picky like me and care more about voices then I'd look somewhere else. I haven't tried the Dolby atmos for this soundbar because my TV doesn't support it or have e arc but I knew this before buying and those who want Dolby atmos just know everything isn't in Dolby atmos so I wouldn't buy it for this feature alone. Welp that's about it.

Sounds amazing. Surround sound wasn’t amazing but the overall sound quality was really good. Unfortunately there is some sort of issue with the way the system works with out house. I’m not sure what causes the issue as I am not able to force it to happen or get it to quit when it does but 1 out of every 3 times I turn the tv on the soundbar has a weird glitch where it clicks every 30 seconds and the sound cuts out and comes back on. It’s been happening since one week after install and I’ve given up and switched to a Sonos soundbar instead.

I replaced my Denon/Definitive 5.1 surround setup with this soundbar. I am so very glad i did, setup was extremely easy and the sound is phenomenal. I wasnt left with feeling I needed rear channels or more power. The clarity blew me away and the bass from the wireless sub is very accurate. Highly Recommended.

The sound bar is good but can not connect with my Sony XBR TV by HDI ARC. I followed the procedure and called def tech support. They told me that Sony is at fault.
I called Sony TV tech support. First level could not solve the problem so specialized team I contacted. They tried and it worked for a while and then it stopped. It can only with Digital not with HDMI ARC. Sony tech told me that they have problem and had other complain also.
I gave three star as sound is good but not work with Sony TV. Before I bought, I saw that in reviews it was working with Sony. When I talked with Sony rep, he was nice and honest and told me that Sony does not work with Def sound bar.
My take: If you have Sony TV, their ARC is not great and may not work with Sound bar as ARC is now present trend.

Eye-opening sound quality, HEOS is over

Sound quality is fantastic. Since I'm usuallly a speakers-and-AVR guy, I can only compare to one other soundbar: the Magnifi Mini.
This soundbar, compared to the Polk, is WAY clearer. The Polk was always muddy and the dialogue boost was awful. This Definitive bar is very "airy" with voices. Not quite crystalline like a newer B&W speaker, but more like a Klipsch for voices. However, it doesn't suffer from Klipsch's issues with music. With the Polk I still needed subtitles. With the Definitive I can hear all the voices, even the whispers in the tent during Dune. This soundbar comes with dialog boost but I don't need to turn it up all the way.
Bass is fine. Subwoofer is in a different class than the Polk Magnifi Mini. The sub feels like a genuine attempt at a home theater sub with a heavy cabinet and accuracy, and not a typical soundbar "wannabe" subwoofer.
Like any soundbar, imaging is hit-or-miss due to the excessive processing involved. Sometimes you'll need to fiddle with the settings to maximize the sound. For example, movies and TV might sound perfect... then you might struggle with balancing dialogue and engine noise with an auto race broadcast.
The HEOS app is nice for adjusting EQ.
The HEOS ecosystem is definitely second or third tier. It's SO much easier to just have Nest or Alexa integration... but this bar doesn't have either. It simply doesn't work well as a connected home device, and HEOS is a dead end. I treat this bar as a TV speaker only. Real shame.
TLDR: really nice sound quality, don't expect great integration.
