Let me start by saying that there are definitely better sound bars; however, for the price you can’t beat it! Nice addition to our home theater.

Absolutely LOVE it especially for the price dropO purchased it for. Sets up easy and the small sub delivers a BIG punch. I would have loved if it would have had a normal display instead of dots for all the different selections a user has to go through but you get use to what your looking at.

Definitive Technology - 5.1 Channel Soundbar System with 8" Wireless Subwoofer - Black. The Definitive Technology's Studio Advance Soundbar was a bit of a surprise at this price level. I have had Definitive Technology speakers in my home theater for the last three years. I have them wall mounted along with my flat screen. My very first home theater subwoofer was a Definitive Technology brand. At the time I last redid my home theater if there were any soundbars they would have been few and not anywhere at the level of quality the Studio Advance Soundbar is. But that also means the options available have come along way and at all price ranges. Since we are talking about one of the leaders in speaker technology, we should expect a lot. Well you really only get what you need here. And that was the surprise. With most high-end products you expect it to have more feature then you might ever use. With the Studio Advance Soundbar you really only get the features you actually use. That would be fine except it’s really not the performer I had hoped. The sound is fine but I wouldn’t say it was great. It reveals itself much better being back and does have a good front soundstage, its clear but its not exciting. The 8” subwoofer has a nice build and does its job well but you have very limited control over the sound as a whole. The remote has a movie, music and night mode which do change the sound just not in a big way. Having a bit more control here would have been nice. When we think about the feature set here, 4K, HDR passthrough, Chromecast, Bluetooth support and ARC, (Audio Return Channel) we have enough but not any more then that. For the Chromecast to work you must connect to your Google Home app. There is very little feedback from the soundbar other than some LED lighting on the front that show your volume changes. There is no on-screen display of any type that I could find. That may have been my single biggest disappointment. In my setup I use a Nvidia Shield to control my TV and I found the Shield remote worked great and had no problems turning on, off and changing the volume level. That may also be one of the bigger advantages here. The Soundbar just works without much need to learn anything. If your significant other won’t use your home theater because they find it to complicated this can certainty help by being as simple as it is. As I have used the Studio Advanced Soundbar I am very impressed with the build quality, and how easy it was to setup and use. The more I listen the more I have gotten to like the sound. Yes, I would like a bit more control over the sound but it easily fills a large room, the sub is small but very high quality and it had no problem paring with the Soundbar no matter where I set it. And it’s a very attractive Soundbar with just a few buttons on the top to turn it on, change volume and inputs. It is simple to use, simple to setup and its does sound good. Does it do enough to justify the price, that’s a hard call to make. What it does it does very well with nothing in the way. Do I really need a Soundbar to do anymore, honestly probably not?

Awesome sound system. All I have is def tech in my home. Worth the upgrade from the W Studio. Crystal clear and loud and awesome. Got this one sale 50% off. Only complaint is when you turn up volume on tv the sound bar automatically goes up as well. Need tv and sound bar remote near by.

I really wanted to like this system, especially since it is almost half off. But the dialog was really bad. It sounded great when there full sound or music, but listening to dialog was difficult. The turning point in deciding to return it was after I watched a football game. The background and crowd noise was a the same level as the announcers. I replaced it with a Sonos Beam which has excellent dialog.

Don’t believe the negative reviews, this system great for any room that isn’t much bigger than a master bedroom. It does sound like 5.1, but with less separation. Great bass and I like the fact it works in 5.1 audio with all the major streaming apps.

Really nice sound bar, its more of an audio file type of soundbar. I've had other sound bars and this one is by far the best on I have heard thus far. The sub give good solid base without being boomy and the sound bar sounds just as good. It has ARC so you can use your TV remote to adjust volume; you do need a TV that has a ARC connection to be able to use this feature, otherwise you can use the optical cable if you don't have ARC.

I bought this soundbar for an upscale tv.
My tv already had a good sound quality. So good quality of sound bar, was not really noticable. But it is a good product. The only problem I have is that it would not immediately turned on, when tv is turned on. Have to wait for about 10 seconds.

Excellent sound bar! I don’t know if it’s worth $1500 but it’s definitely worth the price I paid.
