When I purchased these Def Tech speakers I really didn’t know what I was getting sure I knew they were high end speakers. I would hav3 never imagined they would sound so awesome. I get great highs and deep tight rolling bass. I couldn’t asked for a better speaker very impressed.

Pros: Great Value if you are just going to watch movies and some music. Bi-polar design and movies sound incredible especially when paired with matching center speaker with internal amp. It does everything for you at a little to no cost. Easy to setup for casual, new or average home. Light or not heavy compared to other speakers in heavy enclosure. Does not take up too much space and easy to live with. Great bass and saves you from getting separate amps and subwoofer because the speakers have built in sub and they have internal amp. Cons: Will not suffice for a true audiophile. No flexibility to add you own amp, sub and the clarity is lacking. Yes It crushes bass notes but upper frequencies are lacking. If you listen to mostly music or 2 channels and more interested in high fidelity you will probably get other speakers and add a sub to handle low frequencies. They make a loud noise sometimes when the internal amp turns on and not sure how to defeat that. Never had internal amp fail on me so can’t speak to the longevity of the internal amp but at this price point you are getting a lot of speaker for next to nothing in the first place.

I'm so surprised how good these sound. The design is okay for a kids or gaming room, but for a living room I would choose something else.

After numerous attempts for finding a good sounding combination of speakers to offer a simulated surround sound experience (with my LG OLED 65" and Yamaha receiver), these tower speakers are used with DT center speaker Model: CS-9040HD and the sound is awesome for the price! After some output adjustments on the receiver and allowing a few days for the speakers to 'settle in' to my environment, even 1 year later they are still sounding awesome!

I have had Definitive Technology tower speakers for over 10 years and have enjoyed the product, over the years I have added additional speakers from their line up. I felt I wanted to upgrade the main tower speakers so I ordered this set. I have been very pleased. The highs are improved as well as the Mids. The base is a major step up. I have been very pleased with the speakers. I have not experienced any of the pop sounds that others have experienced. When the speakers power down, they just shut off. I hope the issues others have had were corrected at this point.

Great speakers they sound wonderful full rich boisterous sounds really brings movies to life

I have been so impressed with my first pair of these speakers that I had to buy a second pair for my basement if that tells you anything. I have the matching set of Def Tech surrounds and center channel along with the atmos toppers that go on the towers. You feel like you’re in the theater with this full set and I’ve got medium sized rooms where the bass is near overwhelming with the powered subs in the towers at half setting. For getting into premium speakers scene this to me is the ultimate value. I would suggest finding the Atmos toppers at a better deal because those are expensive

These have a built in woofers and sound totally amazing with movies or music.

I usually have bought Bose and Klipsch products in the past. This was the first leap into high end audio for me. I have got myself a home theater in the basement and I just love these speakers. They are worth the price. These were my clear choice among competitors which included B and W and Martin Logan series. It is however anyone's personal choice to what kind of speakers they like. Reviews aside, please hear out these bad boys all in comparison before making a decision . Everyone has a different music taste so what's good for one may be so so for the other.

A pair of these speakers were purchased for our living room, along with an A/V home theater receiver to use for home audio and home theater. Using the HDMI ARC connection on our smart TV, the tuner and speakers turn on when the TV is turned on, so we're now using the speakers all the time for TV, movies, music, etc. The sound quality from these speakers is truly amazing. Deep bass, clear sounds, no distortion. We now steam music all the time because the sound quality is so good. The 3-way speakers appealed to me because I didn't want all of the extra hardware in our living room (separate subwoofer, center speaker, etc.) and these speakers allowed for that. They are definitely worth the money.

You know at a theater how you feel in the movie? Well with 4 of these speakers in an Atmos 5.4.4 setup, that is the experience you get. Everyone who hears my speakers in my theater system wants to stay longer and watch more movies. You never need to go to the theater again with this setup. All you need is a Denon reciever, a center channel speaker, and four of these (no woofers, they each have a woofer) and it's done.

The product sounds great. My only issue was that parts were missing and one of the LED lights on the front was not working but I did buy it open box so that could be the reason but otherwise great.

Absolutely love the sound system. Even though they are discontinued i recommended to everyone.

Tested these speakers at Best Buy multiple times and almost pulled the trigger many times. For the price there isn't a better set of tower speakers out there. Paired with the Def Tech center speaker my receiver finally came to life. Movies are unbelievable. Clarity is crystal clear for action or drama. Want to hear the speakers really shine throw in a Blu Ray music/concert and you will be amazed. Listened to Wish you were here and Dark Side of the Moon and heard things I haven't heard in 30 years of listening to Pink Floyd. Dave Matthews live at Radio City on BluRay was my test at Best Buy and it sold the wife on this particular set up. Truly unbelievable sound if you are in the market just do it. Had an Oscar viewing Party and watched Hacksaw Ridge, The Fence, Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight and my guests all made several comments saying the sound was better then a movie theater. Just Do It.

I absolutely love these towers. I got the Atmos for the top and every movie, TV show and album are perfection.

These speakers have great performance compared to their cost. No separate subwoofer is needed and the bass is easily adjusted to taste.
