After numerous attempts for finding a good sounding combination of speakers to offer a simulated surround sound experience (with my LG OLED 65" and Yamaha receiver), this DT center speaker was the 3rd and final center channel added to my DT Tower speakers (Model: BP-9020ST). OMG, the upgrade 'from' the ProCenter 1000 to this center channel was worth every dollar spent!

I bought the Definitive Technology 9080x tower speakers several months back and thought they'd be all I'd ever want, because they are so darned good! But voices were getting lost, so I got a center channel. I opted for the 9040CS because I couldn't justify another powered subwoofer for the center channel (i.e. the 9080CS). I was right to save the money. My Pioneer Elite SC-LX502 amplifier runs a diagnostic to balance each speaker's performance, so this center channel sounds just fine with its bigger tower companions.

I only had 5.75" H in my console shelf and I was looking for the largest center speaker that could fit there. Usually I get Klipsch but they only make the RP-400C. Since I had no way of hearing it in person and Best Buy no longer sold it, I got DT instead. Plus, DT had cheaper in-ceiling speakers anyway. Compared to the DT 9060, these have almost exactly the same sound. They both have the same front drivers. Only difference is this has the passive bass radiator while the 9060 has the active bass system. For the price, I couldn't justify it and decided to let the subwoofer handle the deep bass sound. Overall, I am very happy and this center speaker pairs nicely with my 4 Di 8R in ceiling speakers (2 Front, 2 Rear) along with the Supercube 2000 subwoofer for the bass.

Like this speaker. The sound is awesome. Still need to make some tweaks to my home theater setup toninclude acoustic panels and then see if that makes this speaker and my home thater serup more enjoyable

Great product! Sounds incredibly clear, was glad i made the upgrade from my previous center channel which i thought was good. Very happy with the Definitive brand, highly recommended!

Bought this speaker to replace a 4yr old Polk C10. This speaker is fantastic. Makes dialog crystal clear. The added bass from the passive woofer on top gives plenty of punch. I'm most certainly a Definative Technology speaker lover from now on. I compared this to a comparable Bowers & Wilkins center at BB Magnolia. I preferred this one because of its bass extention. Although priced higher, I believe it's worth every penny. Next to replace my tower's with some Def Tech super towers.

Replace center channel with this one on the recommendation of the Magnolia rep and it definitely delivers! The built in sub accents the sub on the floor. A bit pricey but definitely clear center signals with a bit of a bass boost.

This speaker brings more bass into the center channel which provides a more realistic sound. Our Def Tech system is improved with the added bass now from both front and back.

After listening to the new Definitive Technology D7 bookshelf speakers I was amazed at the quality of sound from small speakers. But then when I added the Def Tech center speaker I was even more amazed at the clarity, purity and depth of sound for movies and for enjoying classical music. Even without a sub the bass is very satisfying. For a smaller room these speakers along with a quality receiver are all you need for high performance sound at reasonable prices. Later I plan to add two more rear speakers for surround sound. Thanks to the Magnolia guys at Best Buy for providing great advice.

Definitive Technology (DT) does not disappoint. Pair this center channel speaker with two DT towers and you will get unbelievable sound.

Definitive Technology - CS-9040 Center Channel Speaker with Integrated 8" Bass Radiator Good center I loved

I wasn't planning on a center channel but when you realize just how much it adds to the sound dimension for home theater experience, it is really a must and this is a high end for those systems. I've been using sound bars (and high end ones, at that) for years but having the separate components (though costly) is an incredible auditory upgrade and this speaker plays a big part. Be ready, this is a large component but boy does it do a great job. Couldn't be happier.

This literally is the best speaker i have ever heard!! After tons of research i decided on this center speaker. the high vocals are pristine clear and the bass radiator feeling of bass to the entire room. i have this unit paired EPSON5050Ub projector.My media room is filled with an best surround sound that kills any other system I've heard. What pulled all of my system together..... the Definitive Tech cs9040. Its a little pricey, but well worth every penny!

Outstanding center channel speaker for my surroundsound. Vocals are crystal clear. Couldn’t ask for a better speaker.
