Great sound. I can see woofers through screen is the only minuscule complaint. This thing is very crisp

The sound quality is great on this speaker. If you love watching surround sound movies a quality speaker is a must have. Most of your dialog comes from your center channel. Finally with this speaker the background music doesn't drown out the dialog. Great sounding nice looking speaker.

You you don’t buy anything else in your life and you have a home theater setup; buy this one! Awesome.

This center channel speaker without the powered subwoofer is a great match to my front Definitive towers (with powered subwoofers) and rear 6 1/2 inch Definitive in ceiling speakers. Voice projection and clarity greatly improved over my older Definitive Pro 1000. High quality enclosure. I did cover the silver accent bands on the front with black tape to make the speaker all black and not visible or distracting to the eye when watching TV at night. Otherwise great design and as expected the usual high quality from Definitive. Excellent service from Best Buy.

Absolutely amazing product best sound quality I have found and fit in great with my definitive technology system. However, it is very expensive. I tried the cheaper version of the center speaker and although it is good it does not compare well.

I purchased a pair of the Deftech Demand D9 speakers a little over a year ago. These speakers were essentially designed for music listening and with the offset tweeter, another D9 speaker would not work properly as a center. My setup is in a medium size living room. I decided to purchase the CS9040. I wasn't sure if this compact center would be sufficient to fill the space but my concern went away as soon as I played a movie. Dialog clarity and output were just as I hoped and the speaker filled the space admirably. More importantly, it was a great match for the D9s. Very pleased with the purchase and Definitive Technology in general.

I love the center channel, it's decently a upgrade from my previous entry level speaker

Bought this along with a pair of BP-9040 towers. The setup blends very well together but compared to my procenter 1000, this sucker was way bigger. My only complaint is the emblem on the front doesn't light up, but if that is my only complaint, things are too bad.

Set up was easy; sound is excellent. The only warning I would make is that this has a soft top and something placed on top could damage the speaker. We have cats so we cover it when not in use.

Bright and open with very good bass characteristics. Voices are clean and distinct, many tones are clarified in music passages. An excellent anchor in a home theater system, while being excellent musically.

If you want to set up a serous sound theater system for you house, you need to invest in the center speaker. I tried a lot of different brands and finally got this one. By far it is better than other brands. I may upgrade it to the next up level as that one has a dedicated subwoofer built in. Overall it is a good center speaker

This is my first incursion into surround sound anything; wired this up to the Innovative Tech. 9020 floor standing speakers powered by Pioneer VSX-832. I am now a happy camper!!!

I have a Marantz SR 6013 receiver and had a Polk Blackstone center channel. It sounded good but was lacking the extra punch and clarity I was looking for. I purchased the CS 9040 and was blown away! I debated splurging and getting the 9060, but because I plan on adding a second REL 10 inch sub I decided against having a powered sub in my center. You need to decide what is best for you and your system (consider your long term plan), but investing in a great center channel is a staple of a quality Home Theatre system.

I bought this to replace a kilpsh r-34c center channel. Dialogue is very clear, it has good bass which isn't really necessary when running a sub. But currently it's not being used on the avr, so i don't know how it's been calibrated. Overall very happy with the purchase. The sound is a lot more natural coming from this as opposed to the klipsch due to the lower db sensitivity rating.

I got this when Best Buy (or maybe Def Tech) was running the promotion to get a free center speaker when buying a set of towers. I upgraded my Def Tech towers so at the same time I upgraded my old Def Tech center speaker. I loved my old Def Tech center speaker which got rave reviews everywhere on the internet, but this one is much better than the old one. (about 8 years old) Voices are much clearer and stand out even with sound effects going on through the towers and surround speakers. Getting this speaker makes me even happier with my purchase of the Def Tech towers. (BTW, Def Tech support is great with questions as well!)

I actually listened to each model and these were the best sound for the price by far! They have built-in sub woofers with great bass as well! No need to purchase a separate Sub.
