I already owned a pair of Def Tech BP8 tower speakers so I decided to stay within the brand for my surround sound. This center channel speaker is compact and low profile and subsequently takes up very little space. The sound is crystal clear for voices and has the great tonal balance of all Def Tech speakers. Great price and quality for the consumer wanting to get into surround sound on a budget.

Replacing a kef center that blew from a smaller system, was looking for something affordable that would fit right in with my set and this definitive center did the trick. I was a little skeptical at first but after hooking this up on my denon receiver there was no disappointment. I expected it to not keep up with the rest of the system but it hung in there created some very nice highs and will end up filling in for quite some time. Can't beat this quality for the price.

I listened to a number of center channel speakers before this purchase. Most of them were larger and didn't sound any better. Some of the more expensive alternatives didn't offer much in the way of low frequency response. I chose the Definitive Technology Pro Center 1000 because I liked its sound quality, size and price.

The recent purchase of a Definitive Technology center speaker was an excellent choice for my family room 60 inch HDTV. The speaker complements the book case side TV speakers and now we can hear voices so much clearer than before. An excellent center speaker for the price and also one of the few that come in white to match our cabinets.

Primarily chose this as a center channel due to its low profile to mount under my TV, and the price. The sound is great, and the black lacquered finish looks great too. If you're looking for something that won't break the bank, this is a great choice. Mounting was easy using the DT mounts, also available through BB.

I ended up with this center because Best Buy didn't have any of the Klipsch ones I was looking for. Man, am I glad. This center sounds fantastic, it's loud enough and I like the smaller profile. The smaller drivers really help offset the massive sound my dual 8" driver towers produce.

Definitive Technology rocks, if you look at audio websites all their products are getting great reviews. No exception here. It is an amazing center speaker, you can either wall mount it or it will stand on its own. Unbelievable what sound DT gets out of these smaller size speakers.

I purchased this speaker to replace an old RCA Surround Sound in a box center speaker that I've lived with for years, and that I was using with my Denon 2312CI amp that I bought last year. I wasn't too impressed with the Denon at first because the amp didn't sound any better than the RCA unit, even with the center channel turned full up. I have hearing damage, so dialogue is the hardest thing for me to hear clearly. The minute I plugged this little gem in, my world literally changed for the better! No longer do I have to make my family uncomfortable with high volume levels during movies or TV shows, and I don't find myself riding the remote any more either! Truly amazing! The center channel is now set at a reasonable level compared to the others, and the volume has come down roughly 30% average overall.... And, I can hear everything clearly! The sound quality of this box is VERY full range due to the multiple speaker design. I'm incredibly happy, and can't wait to replace my other speakers with Definitive products!! Believe the hype folks! Great sound at a very reasonable price!!

after about 2 weeks of break in this little speaker is a good performer with good detail and dialog it sits right under my TV and looks good big sound from a small speaker. I am putting 130 watts at with a high end receiver . at it has not checked yet. about 2 months old now.

This center speaker is great. The dialogue and everything that’s happening in the middle is superior for the size. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a center with space limitations

I purchased this to improve the hearing of dialog when watching tv. It works & the fidelity of music is even improved. The Best Buy rep recommended a center speaker for my stereo system ( not surround around ) because of the listening problem I was having. He mentioned that it's a common phenomenon. I also really like the additional fidelity it provides when listening to cds. Customer reviews about this brand & product were excellent. This center speaker is an excellent value for the price. I listened to higher priced center speakers while at Best Buy & my ears thought this sounded the best. Higher priced does not always translate into better.

I had the 600 center but the 1000 center blows it out of the water clearer sound and base

Did a ton of research before pulling the trigger on getting Def Tech speakers as my front three. I have this center channel coupled to two Def Tech ProMonitor 1000s and the sound is incredible. I'm still in my "breaking in" period, but so far the soundstage presented by these three speakers together is amazing. Dialogue is great with this speaker in every application I've tried; streaming, Blu Ray, OTA HD content. It's also crystal clear for vocals on music applications (have tried plugged in MP3s, Pandora streaming, and CD application). Highly recommend.

Sounds great, I considered the 2000 but after getting this one home I am glad I selected the 1000. Large room 25x30, very open with a two story ceiling but the 1000 fills the room just fine.

It was time for me to acknowledge that age was impacting my hearing, so research let me to the understanding that the conversational voices in series and movies can these days be enhanced with the addition of a decent ‘center speaker' . . . This one performs the job well, and with my big Yamaha receiver being able to control the volume of the center speaker independently from the others I have nothing to regret en spending this much for a new speaker . . . Highly recommended

Very powerful Center Channel speaker very sleek and Design I'm very pleased with this purchase I also was able to get this on a discount but I would definitely spend the money if it wasn't

this tiny thing sounds HUGE!!!! (but that might also be.. cuz of my ONKYO) was searching for a small center.... to fit above fireplace on Shelf. Never even heard of Definitive Tech.. but the fact that it was well rated. im Happy!!!

I was in the market for a new center channel speaker to replace my polk one and came across this from a recommendation. Speaker was a perfect match and sounds great. Really worth the investment

My home theater center channel speaker was 25 years old. While some components in the home theater have been upgraded, the center channel speaker was an original. The amp/receiver has been upgraded multiple times, most recently six months ago. I realized that I was having trouble understanding dialog in movies especially (most of which is directed to the center channel). I made various adjustments to the receiver to boost the center channel level in comparison to the other speakers and adjusted the equalization, but nothing really helped. I found I was watching movies with the remote control in hand to crank up the volume in order to understand the dialog, and then cranking it down because the effects were too loud. The ProCenter 1000 has solved my problem. I can now watch a movie without holding the remote control and constantly adjusting the volume in order to understand dialog. Voices are clean, crisp and intelligible. I cannot over emphasize what a huge improvement this is. Speaker technology has obviously improved since my original speaker was manufactured. This modest upgrade was well worth the price. It is small enough to fit just about anywhere.
