I wanted to add a center-channel speaker for my Sony STR-DH550 A/V receiver. Speakers sold as "center-channel speakers" will not fit in the limited space in my console. Tuned by the STR-DH550 "Auto Calibration" feature to serve as a "center-channel speaker" to complement my main speakers, the ProMonitor 800 is everything I hoped for in a small speaker.

Perfect size and sound for a rear mounted speaker.

good sound, a bit heavy but still can hang on wall

I’m using it with my new TV LG CX, it makes a big difference when watching sports, movies and videos games! I’m using them with a Denon AVR. When you put on a movie you seen multiple times, guarantee you will hear things you could not hear with theses speakers.

I'm using these as my rear channels speakers. Great sound and perfect size!

Powerful, minumum space required. Just what I needed in my small apartment.

Enjoying our two Definitive Technology ProMonitor 800 4 1/2" Bookshelf Speakers. These are coupled with our ProSub 800 8" subwoofer and sound good in our family room. They were easy to mount on the walls and we really enjoy how they sound.

I bought these along with a Polk subwoofer to replace my 35 year old system including a pair of Klipsch kg4's. I never thought I would find something that would sound like what I had, but I think I did. As small as they are, combined with the subwoofer, they sound great.

Was looking for a compact speaker to mount on the walls for the rear channels. These are very sleek but powerful. I am glad that these were recommended to me by Best Buy. They didn't have these in my local store and they had to order these for me. Glad I went with these.

Love the sounds as they travel through theses speakers. Pricey but well worth the cost. I purchased 4 and the center speaker to match. Would do it all over again. Programs and music are more enjoyable!!

Initially, I wanted a pair of Bowers & Wilkins book shelf speakers, but I’m already using Def Tech speakers in other positions - and the Bestbuy rep advised not to mix. These Def Tech book shelf speakers sound great. The audio is clear and music tone is crisp. I didn’t give 5 stars because after listening to the Bowers & Wilkins, I was able to detect a very slight difference - in favor of B&W. However, I do highly recommend the Def Tech Pro Monitor 800.

These satellite speakers are awesome! Crisp, clean highs and full midrange. I'm using these for the fronts and surrounds of a 5.1 theater system. I compared them to the 1000s and found that the sound was nearly equal, but I chose the 800s because they are a more management size for our relatively small room.

I had an opportunity to add rear speakers to my A/V setup. I wanted a decent full range speaker and after listening at Magnolia these sounded like they'd fit the bill. This proved to be the case. I'm very happy with them, used in conjunction with a Definitive Tech Sound bar and wireless sub-woofer

Am loving the experience. The speakers are small and easily mounted on the wall. And they create very nice surround sound experience. I am very happy with this purchase.

These blew away my previous surround speakers. They can be used as bookshelf speakers but I have them as my surrounds hanging from the ceiling. Before I had these my surround was always very faint but now my system feel very well balanced.

Add two of these to my existing DT 600 set and couldn't be happier! Using them a L & R fronts and moved the 600's to "Height" speakers for Atmos. Really filled out the sound and work much better for stereo. Got them on sale, so it was a no brainer.

Was not looking to spend a lot of money on sound system. Bought these to go with the procenter speaker. Liking the sound so far. And they are very small, easy to move around to adjust sound. Getting them on sale also helped!

These are good surround side speakers. They have a decent range of sounds they can create, and for the price they work well. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for surround rear, as they have a relatively controlled dispersion range. Still, very good speakers for the price.

I bought these to finish off my deftec system. I use these as my surrounds and they sound great. Even as an entry level speaker for def tec, they are pricy for surrounds, but i feel with home audio equipment, you get what you pay for.
