We just purchased this Definitive Technology - ProSub 800 8" 300-Watt Powered Subwoofer and couldn't be happier. It makes the movie experience more theater-like. Watch out - it's so powerful that it crawls forward throughout the movie! We had it in an open cubby but had to move it to the floor so it wouldn't fall out.

i had a 8' pioneer before and wanted something better and loud and yes it did a grate change with a very good price.

Purchased this to replace a Polk sub that died after 5 years. Wife acceptance factor played a large role in this purchase. She wanted a sub with a small foot print. We have a large living room (17x28) and we get plenty of bass from it. We can't "feel" it on the couch but it sounds good. I just hope it lasts longer than 5 years.

For an 8in powered sub, for a decent price, this is the one to get! I've had mine for a few weeks now and am yet to be disappointed. You have a crossover dial on the back, and a quick level adjust on the side for easy access. Didn't think an 8in sub could shake pictures off the walls :)

I visited the local store to preview some home theater subwoofers. I left the store after a very lengthy stay in the studio room, subwoofer in hand. Very impressed with the output of this subwoofer for its small footprint and price. Unfortunately upon unboxing it was discovered that my purchase was defective and damaged. Disappointed I returned to the store in hopes of an exchange. What I got was more of an upgrade and a discount all in one. Great customer service. Great product.

Thou the sound is very good for the size I wish I would have spent a little more and got the bigger size sub for a fuller sound

I purchased the Definitive Technology - ProSub 800 8" 300-Watt Powered Subwoofer - Black. I already had a much older model of a Definitive Technology subwoofer which always performed excellently and still does. My A/V receive has outputs for two subs. Two subs ??? A great idea. I purchased a Definitive Technology - ProSub 800 8" 300-Watt Powered Subwoofer for a very good price and am very happy with the extra 'bottom' in my home A/V system. The enhanced bass adds quite a bit to movies with a lot of explosions and for music, too. If your receiver can handle two subwoofers, I'd say get the 2nd sub. Installation note: My A/V receiver has an 'automatic' system for balancing my speakers. However, this system does not recognise my 2nd subwoofer. No worries. The 2nd sub works fine, it just didn't get 'automatically' balanced. Like too much bass has ever been a problem.

After listening to this subwoofer in the store and reading other reviews I knew this was the one I wanted.

I recently added this subwoofer to my theater sound system. I now have two subs. I bought this because of my previous experience with Definitive. I did not listen to it before I bought. I pulled the trigger quickly because Amazon had it on sale for about 50% off and Best Buy price matches. Normally I would go into a store and listen (feel). Anyway, glad I pulled the trigger. This thumps! It is not as hard hitting as my JBL L8400p, but at 50% of the cost before the extra 50% I got off, I wouldn't expect it to. More "boomy" than the JBL so it compliments the other sub well. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Great subwoofer with lots of power for the space in my condo. Paired with my D9’s and center channel it produces bass comparable to a 10” subwoofer. The crossover and volume controls allow me to fine tune the sound to my listening environment

I bought open box at a good price. Had a good boom but I wanted more so I returned it for the DefTech 650watt subwoofer.

This sub-woofer integrated well into my overall system. It was simple to wire in, and works great with my receiver.

Bought these to replace a KEF C4, which fried. Really like the auto-shutoff feature. After moving it around and tweaking the volume, it sounds fantastic. Very punchy bass. If I had the room, I would buy a second one.
